I just ordered a K70 and was considering buying a thin protector.

I drop a lot of cookie crumbs & other garbage/dust (my G15 I used for 8 years is a MESS) and was wondering if anyone uses keyboard protectors? If they get messy, I can simply take them out, clean it with water & put it back.. Keyboard itself I cannot

Would they change how the keys feel enough to be easily noticeable?

The best protection is abstinence: stop eating at your computer. It's horrible for health as is let alone cookies. :p

Eat at the dinner table.

Play your games at the computer.

You wont get so fat.

They are easy to clean take the keys out with the key pull then use a hair dryer or some kinda blowing sucking device to get the hair and crumbs out.

Not just for crumbs, but what about spills?

I had a ttesports poseidon Z that I spilled some milk on. I had to send the keyboard back for refund as a few of the switches became rock hard & take $15 lose on restocking fee.

If there is a decent cover out there, it would be awesome. I have one for my laptop, but it's too small for K70. I guess I am asking for too much haha

So YOU spilled something on the keyboard causing the issue of the switches becoming rock hard and sent it back for a refund?

YOU are part of the reason why prices on things are the way they are.

Well, I requested a replacement, but Amazon issued refund (minus restocking fee). Instead of doing anything, I decided to get a different keyboard that was true Cherry MX Brown not chinese kailh brown.

Here's the transcript so you can see the entire convo for yourself:
Initial Question: Hello, I ran into an issue with keyboard I bought 4 months ago. Few of the keys on it have hardened to the point that I have to push it down very hard. How do I get it replaced? This is getting off topic.

If you wish, I will explain. I emailed Thermaltake a week before that asking for RMA. I received no response for 7 days. The keyboard was difficult to use as 1,2,3,4,q,tab,shift,w,` had to be punched down to go in. I used electronic spray behind the key, but it was only temporary. I did not want to unscrew the keyboard open. That meant my only other option was to see if Amazon would assist or keep waiting for Thermaltake. I decided to try the former (who would not? Would you??) - if they refused, I would have obviously kept waiting on Thermaltake.

I don't have a good job to eat up $85 if that is what you were insinuating. Spills happen. I did not personally take hydrochloric acid or liquid helium and pour it on the keyboard to purposely ruin it.

P.S. I received a reply from Thermaltake last Tuesday.. 3 weeks after I requested tech support (a week after Amazon had the return & issued refund all done). In the email, thermaltake told me they will replace it if I apply for RMA. You tell me - would you wait 3 weeks to hear from tech support? Another week to apply for RMA and who knows how long their RMA process would be... Think.

Don't worry, the LEDs — if non-RGB — on that keyboard will be failing faster than you can spill anything on it.
