34" 21:9 UltraWide Displays (3440x1440) - LG UM95/UM65 & Dell U3415W

yeah, I tried it, apparently neither of my 2 accounts have it. I tried both associated emails. It's okay, I'm happy to have saved almost $300.

Ah well at least the shipping wasn't too expensive. Now I want to put a M1 build together just to pair with the monitor for a clean setup.

Talk with a chat rep, I was charged for it too and I asked them to remove the charge and he upgraded me to overnight for free (and refunded the original shipping charge).

It's only $15. I'm exhausted from this process because Amex decided to hold my order for possible fraud purchase.. then they tell me I have to re-order it..lol.. So then I had to call 3 different numbers at dell to get them to re-submit the charge. It's not like they are sending them out tomorrow anyway. Also add in the fact the that company who the EPP account is tied to doesn't exist anymore... I feel I'm pushing me luck already.

I was so mean to the Amex guy too  I told him he cost me $300 in coupon codes ;) I always order expensive stuff on my card, and never had an issue before. Got a Herman Miller Mirra 2 chair coming tomorrow.. they didn't flag that purchase.

for people that ordered the dell, whats your ETA delivery? mines jan 26 [crossin fingers dell sticks w/their time table, or ship sooner haha]

Jan 23rd for me. According to order status page it is "in production." Hopefully they ironed out all the mistakes from the panels sent to China/Japan/Europe.

If you're having trouble getting two coupons to work, you probably added the monitor from the wrong product page. If you added it through the direct link and then go to EPP to check out, it will only let you add one coupon. Here are the correct steps:

-google "dell epp" and go to the first link
-put u3415 into the dell search bar at the top of the page. It will come up in the search results with a member price in green for $1139. That's how you know you're in the right part of the site to get both coupons to work.
-When you check out, use THR0K3N1?05JT3 and MQFL7LKHT?NK12 for 10% off each. You'll also get free two day shipping.
-Also at the top of the page, make sure you click the "claim your rewards" button for Dell Advantage. Sign up for Dell Advantage before you do anything if you aren't already signed up

That got me the monitor for $999.56 total even with high texas sales tax.

Thank you good sir, you've saved me ~$300.

My ETA is 1/23/15. Their is very good chance all our orders will be delayed. Thats exactly what happened in Singapore, Australia and Europe, but only by a week or so.

So for all you who have a 34" 3440x1440 monitor, what cable are you using, DisplayPort (1.2) or HDMI (2.0)? Would either one be preferable over the other?

I plan on using DP, since my video card doesn't have hdmi 2.0 (GTX Titan), and i'm not about to buy a new one. I don't have any sleep issue w/ dp and the U2713HM monitor I currently have... so I'm hoping there won't be any with the dell 3415w.

I ordered the Dell P2715Q 4k monitor when it came out, and it ended up being delayed about a week. I expect the same with the U3415W.

This please

You could get a G-Sync or Freesync one in the future, and for less money since inevitably prices will go down.

That said, I bought one of these. This monitor can apparently have its firmware updated by the end user with the "Firmware Update Utility Software", so a lot of Dell monitor problems of the past can be avoided since you won't have to send the monitor in to be replaced with a refurbished one with the latest firmware.

I tried searching for info on dell "Firmware Update Utility Software", but came up empty. Do you have any links to the software, or where you read about it?

34UM95 + GTX970 here, been using both for an extended period of time.

After a couple of months using HDMI2.0 (+Nvidia custom res @60Hz), I switched back to using DP (not 1.2 as I don't have a Quadro/FirePro to take advantage of 10bit colors), now that there's a workaround for windows resizing, which was the biggest drawback for me.

Three major things I've noticed:
- Using HDMI2.0 seems to cause a significant amount of "screen-splitting", to the point where it occurs every few minutes at times
- After switching back to DP, noticed just how much less input lag DP seems to have. There's a good 20ms difference there, which I didn't notice right after switching to HDMI2.0
- The OSD seems to be a lot less responsive when HDMI is connected, for whatever reason

Can someone post a picture showing how picture by picture looks like in both LG and Dell?

I believe the HDMI ports on the LG only officially support 50hz at native resolution. That could have been why you were having issues with screen-splitting.

Probably like me will get it Monday..

Ordered yesterday at 4pm and mine is still shows as "in production".

I wouldn't worry too much it will probably ship later today. Mine just updated to shipped and I ordered around 2:30PM yesterday.

edit: I really hope the weather doesn't delay shipment.

Crap, where is the best place to buy a regular display port cable in a reasonable time frame?

I usually buy my cables at Monoprice.

But why don't you just use the cable they provide? The monitor has both DP and mini DP, so use the mini at that monitor side, and normal on gpu side.
