Screen tearing, right? I have all these weird shapes just spam the hell out of my screen. Its not always the same either. Titanfall it gets really bad. Battlefield 3, no issues. Torchlight, nothing. World of Warcraft, always. And in the games that it does happen, its only in specific areas. Titanfall its only in a few maps. World of Warcraft it happens in only specific zones.

In World of Warcraft if I flip vsync from on to off its fine for a bit. Then it acts up and I flip vsync off to back on and its fine again.

Titanfall, nothing fixes it. When it happens, it gets worse until I stop playing for the day.

My temps is between 155º and 165º. So perhaps a temp issue?

The card is two years old. Perhaps its getting old and its time for a new one?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I dont think thats screen tearing... looks like artifacting = Bad video card

Did you OC your card at all? I usually see something like that when I push my ram too far.

Have the latest drivers?

If not overclocked and you have up to date drivers... I'd be a little worried.

That's not tearing, that's artifacting. Temp could be a cause, power, dying gpu...

Ah, artifacting. I'm reading that now.

Card is the same. Haven't OC'd anything. Drivers are telling me they're all up to date. (that system pic was taken a few weeks ago)

Yea, I've gone back and forth on changing settings. Max settings. Lowest settings. Restarted the computer. Went through resolutions and full screen/windowed.

No dice. I'm guessing its the game. Battlefield 3 works fine. TF2 and Metro 2033 are fine. Path of Exile doesn't have any issues, but I'm not sure if those games would even be affected by artifacts.

I'm hoping I don't need a new card. =/

I'm reading three year. Says it on my order on NewEgg and nVidia itself. I'm in queue to talk to a live chat. I can't fine a freakin' email address anywhere. See what happens here.

Yup surely NOT screen tearing. That is a bad GPU or dying PSU or both.

ffs.

I looked up NewEgg's status history and found my order. I go to look at the RMA and there is this tidbit:

"This item was purchased more than 30 days ago and is no longer eligible for a replacement RMA."

But on the NewEgg's and nVidia's site it reads:

"This product comes with a three-year warranty. Registration is recommended."

So. Yea. No idea. I'm talking the rep now. See what happens here.

You need to initiate an RMA with the manufacturer of the card, not Newegg or Nvidia.

Edit: Looking at your post history, if this build contains the card in question, it looks like you need to contact EVGA. See here for details on their RMA procedure.

wow you're good. +1

The conversation went just like you said. I have to contact EVGA.

RMA submitted. They'll get back to me in a few days.

Damn. This gets sent back, I won't have a PC for a few days while things are being shipped around. I may have to....*shifts eyes left and right then back to center*...go outside.

To add, thanks for the help. This site has always proven itself again and again.

You have a integrated GPU in your Ivybridge processor.
It isn't good for gaming but should let you surf the net and do other basic tasks, so not completely out of a system.

EVGA used to cross-ship RMAs, so hopefully it is only 2-3 business days.

eVGA has great customer service. They used to offer a cross shipment service if you secured a certain amount on a credit card (that was released once they received the RMA'd video card. I did that more than a few times, a few years ago. Never had a single issue cross shipping.

Also, I always keep a spare card sitting around for eemergencies. Most modern chipsets support using the iGPU. Like he said above, thats not bad for surfing the web etc.

Good luck, ask them if they still cross ship. If they do, you will never go without a card.

After I emailed them last night I went to bed. Check my email this morning, and come to find out, 5m after I emailed I got my RMA approval. Got my shipping label and everything. I'll pull the card tonight and get this out tomorrow.

Neato.

Now, I do still have my old GTS 8800. Would there be an issue of just plugging that in while this one is out? I'd like to still be able to run dual monitors just for web surfing. No games or anything.

Got the 670 all packaged up and ready to be shipped. Plugged in my old 8800. Tried a little Battlefield. Man, this is rugged. haha

Nice. The 770 is faster than the 670. not by much though.

That's a good deal. It's nice to see the manufacturer's stand behind their products.

Congrats on the upgrade!

Definitely a nice replacement. EVGA is great about doing stuff like that. One reason why I always try to go EVGA if possible when buying nVidia..

Glad to hear you got a good swap on a quick turn around.
