.. So I am confused .... Buy or not to buy 34uc97?
If you want a 34" curved ultrawide monitor, I believe it's the only one currently available.
Sounds like it's panning out to be a lot like the 34UM95. Some units are fine and some have QC issues.
The curve is worth the $400 premium to some and not worth it to others.
A lot of mixed feedback so far, so I don't think there's a definitive "buy or don't buy" recommendation. Just depends on how much you want what it offers and your willingness (or not) to wait for Dell's version.
Could anyone here with this awesome monitor post screen shots playing an MMO like WoW, GW2, or SW:ToR. Thanks.
And what's the going price for this beast ? $1200 ?
I'm waiting this model for a long time ... I would to spend more money to buy it but I read existing problems about backlight bleem and so keep me very sad.
What about Samsung -S34E790C? It will be a good rival for Dell?

Good to hear that the backlight bleed he saw before was because it was an engineering sample.

any other owners of this monitor want to give more opinion ? Thanks
I just picked it up today on a whim. What would you like to know about it? I'll be up for the forseeable future gaming. :]
Its on their German lang page. Seems most of their newer reviews are in German.Could you tell us the web page where to buy prad review? Thanks
Do you have bad backlight bleeding ? see some pics on here that have bad backlight bleeding and caused discolouration into orange and green and how is input lag ? Do you feel any lag in game ? i really can't decide if i should wait for Dell or Samsung or go for curved or go for UM95 which its £300 cheaper in UK.
I am using Asus PB278Q and gtx 780ti atm . i want to get 32" ultrawide because if i go for 4k monitor then i need another graphic card but i prefer single graphic card so 32" ultrawide is in a sweet spot.
i read many people on here that suffer from bad backlight bleed so i am worry because i mostly use my monitor at night and in quite a dark room .
I have not noticed any backlight bleed at all. I used to have the 34UM95 and this is leaps and bounds better in terms of overall QC and just outright panel quality.. Blacks seem much deeper to me too.
Just placed a order on 34UC97
Does anyone have any thoughts about monitors for PLP setup?
(Portrait - Landscape - Portrait with the 34UC97 as the landscape monitor)
Not for gaming/movies use, I simply want more desktop space. Portrait mode to keep the wide angle down. (I also like working in portrait mode)
I have a PLP setup today, normally I would be frugal and use my old monitors. Then again, I want something new and shiny. They have been with me since 2003 so it is about time IMO.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good monitor model that has a nice fit with 34UC97?
By that I mean physical size match, bezel, PPI, resolution and so on.
Maybe helpful tool/calculator/database that can narrow down the search?

Anybody with this monitor knows what is the power LED func for? it's off by default.
Power LED: Turns the power LED on the front of the monitor on or off.
On: The power LED turns on automatically.
Off: The power LED turns off.
so you have not fear to buy a model with backlight bleed problem?

Hey everyone, i just ordered my free VESA compatible mount from LG, for my 34UC97. I wanted to ask about Desk Mount LCD Arm, any ideas which one to get. Thanks much.
How did you order from LG for free? I'd like one too.
So has anyone tried putting a couple 27" 2560x1440 monitors on the sides of this thing?
Thanks a bunch! This is the essence of his impressions:
During photo editing my own view is that Im not an immediate fan [of curved]. What I found was that the curve tends to mess with my mind and make me think certain photos I am working on are not straight, especially interior photos of buildings or landscape photos. I preferred editing on the non-curved... On the other hand movies and games gave further immersion due to the curve, the way the content seemed to wrap towards me at the ends felt cool.
There is still and interesting issue raising from the above the curve tends to mess with my mind and make me think. It seems this is his pure bias/stereotype/imagination problem only and not that photos are not really not looking straight . Or he really sees some lines not straight .
