Far Cry 4 set in the Himalayas

again with Ubisoft/Nvidia holding back graphics features??...Nvidia HairWorks and other image quality enhancements will only be added in later via post-release updates...same with AC: Unity...don't they realize most people will be playing it on launch day and not 2-3 weeks later

Ubisoft has announced that NVIDIA HairWorks will be added into the game with Patch 2...

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/953264-IMPORTANT-Patch-2-Preview

yay!...much sooner then I was expecting...now I'm leaning towards picking FC4 over Unity as my 'Pick Your Path' free game since they're releasing their graphics enhancement patch sooner

I'm glad the rollout of Far Cry 4 went better than Assassin's Creed: Unibuddy. I played it yesterday for a little while.... my visit to Kyrat is going to be interesting.

I have heard them say elsewhere that there is no plans for a Blood Dragon type sequel for FC4. I wish I could play the damn game, mine crashes to desktop when it first launches. I have repaired my files multiple times... Grrr another wonderful launch Ubi....

I've got three hours into the game and so far I like it. There is one oddity: shot one guy with an arrow and the guy next to him wasn't alarmed by it. Went on his merry way...

I know they wanted to do it... it remains to be seen if it actually happens.

That's a day one buy for me if it happens.

I keep the first one installed for random cyber-future-retro goodness. They NEED to bring out Blood Dragon 2. It's too good of a game series to let it die or go to the wayside so soon. Ubisoft hasn't really relayed sane decision making lately though. :(

I'll be unpleasantly surprised myself if it doesn't happen. Everyone loved doing it and had a great time and the demand is certainly there.

592 MB update coming through right now on Steam for FC4. This is a pretty sweet game.

I'll be very unhappy as well.

FC4 is on my wish list, so I'm hoping someone gets it for me or if I have gift money to use. Soon I'll see Kyrat with my own eyes... :)

Is anybody here getting a bug where an old image from the game sticks on screen and is seen transparently over my current image. I have no idea how to describe this bug. First time I had it I was in the area after the car chase and I had an image from the torture chamber showing transparent behind the live graphics... I had it several times since but then from that particular area since I reloaded there from a checkpoint.

I am impressed. Performance is through the roof. The shadows issue can be fixed by moving in game from HBAO+ back to SSAO and then back to HBAO+. I also tried changing color during this time and back to normal/default and had no longer any shadows issues like one reported in NVidia driver threads.

Game is butter smooth with 4xMSAA everything set to maximum possible settings. It also looks frickin' gorgeous. Works just like Farcry 3 so easy to get in.

SMAA is something I did not like at all. I think I am going to up this to 8xMSAA. I am going to enjoy this game a lot

The game does indeed look good, however, I always get a driver crash while playing this game even with the latest Nvidia drivers with my gtx 970. Anybody experience this? When I get back home, im gonna reinstall drivers.

Sucks my key was bad too, says already in use in another uplay account.

It looks like many people with nVidia preorders ran into this. Not all though.

I got a ticket escalated with their tech support.

Just a FYI im running a 2600K @ 4800Mhz , 2 GIGABYTE G1 980s in SLI , 16 gigs of ram at 2400mhz , Windows 7 ultimate , Asus ROG Swift moniter running Gsync and I have the game maxxed out and at 1440P its buttery smooth. I do get random Texture flashes in SLI, im sure it will be fixed shortly. Im so happy how this is running after ASS CREED dropped the ball a bit.

Has anyone purchased running AMD hardware? I thoroughly enjoyed Far Cry 3, but got horrid performance issues once I moved my rig to a crossfire setup. Just wondering what performance is like for anyone running any AMD gpu('s)?

Performance on my single 290x is great. Graphics are maxed out at 1080. T

here is some stutter, especially while driving, but it's not an AMD issue. Apparently a quick fix for it is available on the Ubi forums, so I'll give it a shot tonight.

Not to be lazy...but...would you mind linking to the fix?

I hope to play a bit of it when I get home tonight. I'll let you know. Got an FX-6100 and a 7950.

The cracked version that leaked 1 week before street date has this problem.
The cracked version that was posted on launch day does not have this problem.

There are people who will download the game 1 week early to make sure it's a good port, especially people who pre-ordered the game or want to buy it at launch. These people are not "pirates".
As noted by everyone using the early leak copy, there were at least 2 patches missing from that version which would (hopefully) contain fixes to the problems that were found.

The real pirates, people stealing the game after its released, have a perfectly functioning version of the game with retail patches. So they aren't "giving themselves away".

This is Ubisoft's backwards way of making gamers feel badly about not trusting their shitty ports. Maybe if their PC games were good quality, people wouldn't need to pirate them a week early to make sure they run well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft themselves were responsible for the leak, and they specifically left out features just so the community would get angry ahead of time and they could spin the issue back on PC gamers.

Yes they are pirates. They downloaded a leaked version of a game which they did not purchase. Thats one of the definitions of a pirate. The honest way if you dont know what its like is to wait for a steam sale. This is a piss poor excuse!

Oh even more conspiracy theories.

Im calling this bullshit, they added it on the day 1 patch and it has no indicators. Like Tb said, how hard can it be to make a fucking fov slider with numbers that indicate the fov you are using. It looks something that has been done in 10 minutes after the initial shitstorm and added to the day1 patch. Now they just want to blame someone else just like they wanted to blame AMD for their performance issues which is now proven to be bullshit.

Irrelevant, that's not what he was addressing. He was talking about all the people bitching about "problems" and "crashes" with the game (like the "crash on first door") and screaming #UbisoftSucks when the problems were caused by a shitty crack, and missing features due to prerelease code.

Yarite. Pirates are gonna pirate. Doesn't matter if the game was $4.99 on Steam at launch, doesn't matter if the game is perfect and bug-free and 10/10 on all review sites, pirates are gonna pirate. This is not a hardthink concept. There is no honor among thieves, so it doesn't really matter if some try to rationalize that they "just want to try it out". How many "good hearted" pirates are really going to re-download the entire 30GB game again after they already have it on their harddrive, as well as drop 60 bucks to do it? Get a grip. The exceptions don't disprove the rule. And the ones "giving themselves away" because they're clueless and downloaded some old torrent are no different than the ones that managed to procure the latest patch - they're both pirates.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft themselves were responsible for the leak, and they specifically left out features just so the community would get angry ahead of time and they could spin the issue back on PC gamers.

Delusional. There was no "leak". Tryhard crackers simply exploited Uplay preload data, because unlike Steam, Ubisoft doesn't seem to bother encrypting preload data, or at least not strongly enough. I suspect that'll change soon, if not Denuvo rolling out on future Ubisoft titles like its going to for EA and WB.

so do people still consider this a FC3 re-skin or is it something more?...and is there really a Preset above 'Ultra' called 'Nvidia'?...so basicially the 'Nvidia' preset enables all the GameWorks features...so Ultra doesn't contain any of them?

I am on a AMD HD8970m with a IVY i7 and can run this on very high . I get 50-60fps , not bad for a mobile chip that is in between a 7850 and a 7870 . It seems to run better than Far Cry 3 did for me .

Hey guys. For anyone who has the Gold Edition and/or Season Pass... where do your Campaign missions (and weapons, I suppose) show up, and when? Likewise, any pre-order content?

Do they show up right after you finish the prologue? Or do you have to wait until a later part of the campaign? What are the "5 additional missions and weapons"? I know the Harpoon launcher is supposed to be one of them etc...

lmao what a load of shit this is.

Pirates are gonna pirate....

I've both pirated and bought. Where am I in your theory that "pirates are pirates and nothing else?" Or am I imaginary?

While I certainly believe there are those out there that pirate 100% of their titles and do little buying; to say that's what constitutes the majority is bullshit, imo.

Its FC3.5 There are improvements all around, but they just expand (slightly) on existing ideas.

are you being serious?...you're a pirate who happened to like FC4 so you bought the retail version...what happened with all the other titles you pirated and didn't buy?...

what happened with all the other titles you pirated and didn't buy?...

I found little or no value in them and stopped playing? Essentially "demoing" them. Or do you think I should pay for the ~4hrs I played Watch Dogs? Do you really?

stop trying to rationalize your illegal pirating...you played 4 hours illegally since there was never an official demo released by the developers...can I buy a game and play 4 hours and then decide to get a refund?...can I go to a movie theater and ask to demo a movie and walk out before the end?

Great game. A++ would play again. These graphics are incredible:

Seriously though how do I get past this? :(
