Destiny - Discussion Thread

Finally got some Raid legs. Took its sweet time lol.
Hoping I can get the rest through Iron Banner coming up that will have armor that levels up to 30 as well.

So I max out exotic helm, get raid helm. Now I max raid helm too. So I moved to exotic gloves, about to max that and raid gloves drop. Wtf? So now I'm working on exotic chest. It just never ends. Waste of so many materials. Really want the boots now.

Haha. At least you are lucky to get the raid armor. I know some people who have played over 100 hours without a single drop of armor from the Raid.

Good news is that I got the legs and have exotics for everything else (helm, gaunts and chest). I just need 2 more pieces and then I will be 30. Otherwise will try to buy stuff from Iron Banner idiot.

Ran 5 strikes last night, got kicked during the final battle in 4 of them. after the 5th one went through, playlist put me right back on it. took it as a sign for sleep.

Raid armor allows you to get to +30 light. They are better than regular legendary armor because of that.

YEs and no. For PvP you may still want to use your non-raid legendary armor if it is buffing a stat like grenade cooldown or heavy weapon ammo etc....

Oh for sure, that would be a given.but for raiding, the higher the level, the better.

Also, I understand your situation where I maxed out the Warlock Exotic helemt and then Raid helmet dropped. I also have the Gloves and the chest piece exotics, so I look at it this way, I can mix and match with respect to what the fireteam needs and still be lvl29, I can do exotic helm and raid gear rest and play voidwalker, or exotic gloves raid gear rest, sunsinger, or exotic chest with the improved axion bolt and dual grenade spawn sunsinger voidwalker combo. Having more gear is arder to level but also gives you many different play style's.

As an example, in an area where you die and get resed alot, being able to respawn with both grenades ready to go is a big deal, it also helps in pvp, when you are trying to control an area hence the chest piece, the gloves help a lot with grenades was well but in a different way. Your dual grenades which will both stay for 10 seconds, as well as continously burn enemies thru viking funeral , if you go radience , you can literally cover an entire floor with sun grenades. And with the helmet you can bring more firepower and have your grenade s charge your super and then your super recharge your grenades though energy drain and stay on that cycle contstantly grenade, super, grenade, palm fist, super, ice breaker ice breaker, ice breaker, your way to victory.

I feel you with getting the gear. I have yet to get a pair of raid legs on my Warlock. I do however now have two level 29 warlocks and a level 28 titan. I raised a new warlock to 20 and since I had doubles of everything, she literately went from 20 to 28, then I just upgraded a set of boots and it brought me to 29.
I was working on my Grimiore score last night mostly, got the trophy for finding the ghosts so I ended up finding around 54 of them. I was also working on getting my sniper and fusion rifle to rank 3 so the xp would go quicker for them.

Out of curiosity, why create two characters of the same class? Since you're not locked into any one build, you can always just switch gear to make Warlock A be identical to Warlock B...

To run the raid/content twice and get gear for one character. The second one gets the scraps. Much easier to get one to 30, and the other ends up being 28/29 very fast.

People are actually doing this? My god as if the grind on one character wasnt enough

I don't get it... is there a limit on how many times within a given period of time that you can run VOG?

Keep in mind with VoG. You can only open chests once, but you can get drops from the bosses in normal AND hard mode. If you do only hard mode you get both drops for hard and normal.

There actually isn't a grind at all as you just pass on the items. And yes people do this. I do it myself and it is quite efficient to do so. But since you don't play this game (anymore/barely) you wouldn't know that this has happened since the games' release.

Ummm running the same content over and over again = grind, no matter what planet your from. More efficient grind is still grind.

So basically every RPG out there? This game isn't any different. Actually, have you even RUN the raid yet? Seeing as your character is only 26, you probably haven't. The raid only takes about 2 hours (faster with a competent group) or so and it is probably the best PvE experience in the game. Had strikes been similar to this in a smaller scale, the game would get even higher praise from me.

Dragon's Crown has me running and doing same content over and over and over again yet it also received very high praise.

actually VERY FEW RPGs are grind. Witcher is not grind, Dragon age is not grind, Final Fantasy has some level grinding but thats it (not talking FFXIV). Your talking MMORPG, which i thought this game wasnt supposed to be? there are a few treasure find RPGs that are grind but they are in no way a majority. And Dragons Crown was such a hack of a game, i couldnt even play it for more than 30 mins, bad art style, horrible view width, mediocre gameplay dependent on followers. No wonder you like Destiny you seem to enjoy mediocrity at its finest.

And yes, i have completed the raid, at a friend of mines house (was on his account) and i saw absolutely nothing worth repeating in it. Easy mechanics, bullshit loot, utter waste of time. Even on this forum there seems to be ~3 active players based on this thread.

So what do you enjoy? Mediocrity at its finest -- I guess that's why you prefer the Xbox One. I don't think I need to say more than that. But I'll entertain you, I never said I enjoyed Dragon's Crown -- I just said it has me running the same things over and over proving my point. Something that you haven't done in any of your posts.

Final Fantasy is grind at its finest LOL, I don't even know if you're being serious. Did I state MMORPG? Stop assuming that I am, rule #1 as an engineer.

You should really just stop posting in this thread, your characters have nothing note worthy, you obviously get out performed in Crucible. This game has nothing to offer you.. just move along. The healing will begin for you. Also, were you complaining to the rest of your teammates the entire time? Must have been fun for them listening to someone who doesn't even enjoy the game ramble on about non-sense the entire game -- but of course the players you played with are probably ones that agree with you "100%". ;)

FF X is not grind, FFIX, not grind, FFVIII...not grind...see a pattern here? And funny you should bring up the Xbone vs PS4 into this as Sunset overdrive, another Xbox One Exclusive is blowing out just about every single PS4 exclusive in reviews, just like every single other exclusive this gen.

Right. FFIX not a grind? FFX not a grind? What have you been playing, apparently you enjoy mind numbing japanese rpg grindfests fighting the same exact monsters over and over (yes that is considered a grind and recycled "content). I've played every single Final Fantasy as well as the superior Dragon Quest games aka Dragon Warrior (The true Japanese RPG game IMO) and they are all grinds.

You still haven't addressed anything else I have said -- so what do you enjoy?.

But yep, you enjoy mediocrity seeing as how you are obviously a fanboy of the Xbone. I own both and enjoy games from both -- but your blatant shilling for Microsoft is showing.

Even though I played most if not all of the exclusives on the Xbone, the hardware is inferior and mediocre at best.

How are the words "Final Fantasy" and "Not Grind" in the same conversation? Each and every one of those games had SIGNIFICANT grind to get the better weapons/armor/magic/chocobos whatever.

More importantly, Vlad, why are you still here? Why are you still complaining about a game to a bunch of people who like it? You're not going to change anyone's mind...

Because the grind for better weapons isn't even remotely a requirement to get through the game? Nevermind that FF games actually had a developed story line. A bunch of people? On this board there is seemingly less than 5 still posting about and still playing it. Not sure where your getting that.

There is no reason to play crucible when there are superior shooters on PC to play. No reason to raid when their are better loot games with better loot systems. Yawn

Then stop posting here and post in games you actually enjoy?

Some people don't have "PC's" to play games on and prefer to play on console. I am fortunate enough to be able to play on both. However, CS has been put on the backburner for myself.

Destiny's Crucible is actually fantastic, along with its gunplay -- its not the fault of the game you do terrible at it but yours, as seen from destiny tracker. For mine, 99% of those are me playing solo without a pre-made fireteam. I can still hit Top 10% in most categories OVERALL.

You must not like ANY form of FPS Multiplayer that has you pitted against anybody because Destiny is carebear compared to the likes of CS, Quake, Unreal Tournament. Do you hate those games too? They are highly regarded in the FPS community as one of the best there is.

Get out of this thread if you don't enjoy it and call it a "yawn-a-thon", because obviously this game isn't for you.

Also, I came from CAL-I in CS as well as CEVO and I have put PC FPS on the back burner for this -- the gunplay is just that "fun".

TL;DR: Don't blame the game when you can't compete in Crucible -- it is you that is bad. Stop posting in a thread for a game you now have zero interest in.

Oh and check reddit - plenty of users still enjoying the game there (I don't like using reddit, but people see it as the big place for referencing anything nowadays).

Yeah ok nevermind the fact that i was a sponsored player in Halo 2 multiplayer which continued into Reach. I stopped playing competitively when i finished my 2nd masters. Don't assume that your the only "good" player here (im also in the top 10% of MMR on Dota 2 currently for single players) Crucible is no where near a competitive FPS environment, the only way it could be is if supers were completely removed and maps were symmetrical which they are not, and why i never spent the time to play it other than screwing around for rep.

I never assumed myself to be the only good player here, in terms of Destiny I'm a superior player compared to you. Supers aren't even the reason you're doing bad buddy. I don't need supers to even do good in this game, if you were as good as you have claimed you would have something to show for it, but.. you don't.

With less than a 1.0 KDR:
http://destinytracker.com/destiny/player/ps/thedragon585

And mine:
http://destinytracker.com/destiny/player/ps/refraxion

Fooling around is what my Titan is for (Which I only used him to get bounties out of the way) and it is still vastly superior to yours.

Also Dota is a COMPLETELY different game -- it's not an FPS which is what I'm referring to.

As an aside:

So do you actually have any real engineering experience? Might explain why you make so many assumptions -- which explains the masters studies.

Your the one making the assumptions about how i played. I went into crucible with no upgrades on any weapons with a non-max class every single time because i wanted the XP. I didnt have even 1/3rd of sunsinger unlocked when i went in, and was always using handcannons screwing around with it even when i knew autos were better in just about every possible way until i bought the suros regime, and even then i would just run around and hip aim. The only reason i ever entered crucible was to hope for a few random ass lucky drops. I played crucible for 10 hours, all of which was spent while not taking it seriously. Your making assumptions about me and how much i cared whilst playing crucible and how seriously i took it. Every single thing you've said regarding me is an assumption, and is frankly precisely why there isnt a single thing youve said in this thread that i even remotely believe. You actually said creating multiple characters to run the same content that has a weekly limit isnt grinding lmao. That is 100% shill status and there is absolutely no denying that to anyone who reads the post.

Your the one assuming that i just simply suck at FPS games which is in no way remotely true. I have always ALWAYS ranked in the top 15% world wide in any game that ive played seriously (all the way back to the original Ghost Reacon games). Your right, i just suck, theres no possible way that i just think crucible is a garbage attempt at multiplayer, even when bungie THEMSELVES said they did not want to create a competitive mutliplayer environment.

Right, because you still can't get a positive score with hand cannons? I'm sorry but I fail to believe that if you were a "sponsored" player in Halo -- which I don't believe one bit. I, at least have something to show for my credentials -- my fooling around on my titan consisted of charging people with my striker, using hand cannons, pulse rifles as I was levelling up pre-20 and I was still able to carry a team (as in highest points for captures and K/D). And in actual fact Hand cannons are in fact a very very viable option to use.

I'm going to chalk it up to you sucking at FPS and just some angry kid who doesn't get what he wants. I'm probably the only one willing to entertain you in this thread -- as evidenced by others..

Also, apparently liking a game is shilling -- That has been the one and only thing you have always fallen back on. So what is it? Do you never have any valid arguments?

You also said Final Fantasy isn't a grind when in reality yes, yes it is. So there's that. What else do you have for me?

Oh and guess what, even if Bungie said that -- you still suck in a "casual" game. Which is sad if you rank "top 15" in every game you play. Destiny isn't a hard game to be good at, especially in crucible -- but you seem to do bad even playing "casually" for someone ranking top 15% in every game you play.

I wouldn't even say I rank top 15% for every game I play (possible in FPS though) -- but I always have 2 KD+ in every FPS game I play if I were to play competitively which I had stopped with Counter-Strike. I now play casually and still do really well. Also as an aside.. CoD Ghosts is the FIRST online fps game I've played on console and I've still gotten over a 3 KD/R after multiple prestiges. And that is my very first console fps game I've actually played on my ps4/xbox one that I jumped in for multiplayer. Other than that I've only dabbled a bit on 360/ps3.

You still haven't told me what games you enjoy... maybe they are all mediocre at best and you're unwilling to share ;).

Good God, man.

Your != You're

Ironically your the second person to say the same thing and youll be the second person to learn the fact that i post from my phone, and my phone autocorrects "youre" to "your" because of the apostrophe. If your nitpicking grammar in an online forum where nobody really cares to look over their posts beforehand than you shouldn't even post as it is completely irrelevant. And im not even remotely joking, idk if it was this thread or another one where i said literally the exact same thing.

Or i see absolutely no reason to justify myself to someone like you. I 100% pointed out your shilling for the game. Creating multiple characters to only increase the amount of times you can run content and you saying that isn't grinding, how is that not shilling for a game? You saying there is "NO GRIND" in a game that is 100% based around running the strike playlist over and over and over and over and getting rep up and getting marks is 100% shilling. There isn't a person in their right mind that cant say destiny isnt a grinding game. Even earlier in this thread people stated that bungie is trying to artificially extend the content of the game with the grind.

If you're bragging about your education, you should be able to type coherently. And I'm sorry, but it takes 2 taps to change your back to you're on iOS or Android. No one will take you seriously if you can't even do that.

That said, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? What's your point? You won't be changing anyone's mind...

Fine, same with Windows Phone or BB. You get the point.
And you're also lying.
"im" is not a word, and EVERY platform corrects that to "I'm." Also, no platform autocorrects apostrophes OUT.

Windows phone has NEVER corrected im to I'm, thats one that it has always ignored. Yeah ok lets assume you know exactly how my phone behaves  This sub has and always will be a joke so long as people like you exist on it. Lets not forget that libraries in phones are actually user programmable and in fact, change their behavior especially in auto correct based on previous choices that you make.

You have nothing to back up your claims -- so I guess you have given up. Thanks for the lop-sided debate. I was hoping for something good other than the "shilling" rebuttal. Support for a game is apparently shilling in your eyes. I like WarCraft 2 and still to this day say its the best RTS Blizzard has created -- does that make me a shill? I prefer it over SC1/2. Is that considered shilling when its against the same Company?

I own an Xbone and I have -- multiple times -- stated that I enjoyed the exclusives of the Xbone over PS4 so far. Does that make me a shill? Because that's the only thing you can come up with.

Someone who can't justify themselves is a shame, I was really hoping for a decent debate but you had nothing to prove -- just like the early days of the Xbone / PS4 threads when many others were calling you out on your credentials and you had nothing to back yourself up with.

Until next time, I suppose.

Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against you personally, but I wanted a proper debate -- something you did not provide me with.

And yet your the person who hasnt countered a single thing regarding the grind lmfao. You havent justified your "no grind" statement when i pointed out over and over again the fallacy in it. Brilliant this one
