Nvidia 980/970 Availability Thread

Crap, spent like 5 minutes trying to find something cheaper than $.99, but couldn't find anything. Damn you and your $.56 savings! *shakes fist*
I checked my invoice and it was actually a $0.53 cable, so you only wasted 46 cents :D

Anyone know of any real world difference between the blower coolers on the 970's (see eVGA, PNY) vs the Titan/780/980 blower cooler? Specifically, I want to know if there's any difference in a) cooling, and b) noise.

Looks like here in Canada we won't have any Maxwell until the 23rd or so.

I still can't seem to find a single reference/Titan cooler 970, can anyone even show proof they exist in retail? I've seen a few pics of just the tip of the card on reviews but nothing else.

My Newegg order shipped. Hopefully it shows up Monday. I used shoprunner, but it shipped from Indiana. Typically NE stuff ships from NJ for me, and it gets here very quickly going to NY.

Same here (except for Canada part,eh)... I'm not sure now that 970 is going to get that cooler at all. I can wait and see though, no need to rush in my case.

Strange. My Newegg business order shipped from the NJ warehouse and I'm in the mid-atlantic. Which specific card did you order?

I know!! I asked in the review thread and got the answer of "all ref 970s will be Titan cooler" but haven't seen it. I also want the 970 with a backplate, is that too much to ask?

I'm willing to pay more than $329 and I'll have to anyways. As prices on newegg.ca are minimum $364

For eVGA, what's the difference between the ACX cooler and the ACX 2.0 cooler?

This is what they claim.
26% Lower GPU Temperature
36% Quieter
250% Lower Fan Power Consumption
400% Longer Lifespan

Reviews for the new cooler have not been great in comparison to the competition (new windforce, tfv). Asus strix cooler seems to be the quietest at the moment.

I'm still at "Packaging," too. I just want it to ship so I know it didn't mysteriously sell out or have any complications.

Mine too, and I even paid $2.99 for "Rush Processing".

I've always thought that the rush processing was sort of a scam... never seems to make a difference.

When did you guys order? I ordered just after 3AM EST, right when the pages went live. I assume they are processing orders in the order they are received. My order went to packaging pretty quickly, and was still there when I woke up at about 8AM, but by 11AM I had an email with a tracking number.

Mine's stuck at "Packaging". :(

Which card, and which warehouse? Mine was shipped within an hour of my order for a reference EVGA 980. Ordered just after 11am, shipped before noon. Though they may prioritize the Newegg Business site orders.

So how many people are holding onto the 780's vs buying the 980's? Still contemplating.

Right when it went live @ a little after 12am. Maybe it depends on your location. I'm in Arizona and on MST so it's only 10am here. If I'm shipping from CA they probably haven't picked up yet.

Damnit I am weak. I couldn't resist and ordered a MSI Gaming 970 from NE for what I can only assume is full MSRP + $6 shipping. It seems they are in and out of stock at the moment. I'm out in AZ too so likely next week arrival.

I was hoping classifieds sellers would realize that GTX 780's would have to come in a bit lower than a 970 but I guess I'm too early for that game. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

After searching for the past 8 hours & calling local stores of I can't seem to get a concrete answer on whether there will be any GTX 970 with the blower style cooler.
Optimally I'd like to find one with a back plate but that can always be purchased later on. All E-tailers have no pics of 970s with the blower that I've seen.

I've found this pic at the top of an EVGA ACX 970 review. Another on a not too known website half way down the page. Theres also FUD showing it will be available.

If anyone has links to a 970 with Titan cooler could you please post em up!

Whew...mine shipped. Put in my order at 6:15AM and got confirmation of shipping at 11:30.
Unfortunately I won't have it 'til Tuesday, but I can live with that.

Newegg said they would refund my Rush Processing if it didn't ship out today. I ordered mine about 9AM CST and am still waiting for an update.

FWIW I never had any good experience with rush processing vs normal processing -- I never ordered super late in the day though. NE is so weird with the cheap shipping, sometimes they can get me a package in 1 day (even on a Saturday!), sometimes it takes 5 whole business days.

My experience with them is if it ships from the Memphis warehouse I usually get it the next day. However, I haven't heard yet if the cards are shipping from regional warehouses or one single location.

We haven't seen them yet, so they're most likely not going to happen.

They will most likely be on the NVIDIA brand 970's sold at Best Buy. Here is the 770 sold there. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-...26004&id=1219065626957#tabbed-customerreviews

I will wait till they get them in at Best Buy. I have a lot of rewards dollars to use, so even if it is $50 over retail, still will be less than MSRP with rewards. ;)

Besides, want to see if AMD is going to answer in the next couple of weeks.

I still have my original 780 non TI and I am seriously debating. The main reason I want to upgrade is I have a ROG Swift and any fps boost would help @ 1440p

Osirus, you and me are in the same boat. I have the 2600K, 16 GB ram,. etc. And my GTX 780. But am trying to determine if the boost going to the 980 is a good choice, and if I will notice or not.

Another route I might take is getting a 970 then holding off until a 980Ti or some variant.

See, I didn't think that the 970 could compete with our 780's. And not really happy with the SLI option either.

Newegg Business is offering instant $50.00 discount off any order of $550.00 or more, sitewide.

Coupon Code: B2BMLR55

Sweet find man. Amazon didn't have the EVGA 980 in stock and it came out to $604 with 1 day shipping and tax. Newegg had it in stock for $598 (after rush processing/1 day shipping, no tax) but I saw your post and cancelled to order with NeweggBusiness... Damn CC got flagged for fraudulent activity and I had to wait until after work to call them up :/ At least I got it for less than MSRP =D

Subtotal:$569.99
Tax:$0.00
Newegg Next Day:$25.16
Rush Processing:$2.99
Promo Code:-$50.00
Order Total:$548.14

I missed this on my first order. Thought about getting a second, but code is dead now.

Thanks again for all the info everyone: ordered an eVGA GTX 970 SC (the ACX cooler; not the 2.0 since I couldn't find that version in stock anywhere, and I wasn't entirely sold on spending $30 more for it). It should prove an excellent upgrade from my GTX 660 (which I got a few months ago as an RMA from my 560 Ti 448 that died on me).

The price/perf on the GTX 570 is awesome. Looking forward to it's arrival.

Just got a shipping notification for my 2xEVGA GTX 980s from Newegg, will get them Monday :)
