Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

pffffff, stop playing so we can catch up...finally got geared enough for T1 last night :/

No worries, I have school this week + some homework to catch up on :D

I can carry you guys through T2/T3 on the weekend if you want me to. I am doing goblin runs for now though. Only @ 80 million gold, need moar! (Check out datmodz twitch for the goblin farming guide)

Yeah, I plan on leveling DH purely in AM next, starting Rifts around level 30 probably. I have plenty of key fragments from endlessly farming RoRG .

After 7x RoRGs, I still don't have a good RoRG :( I hate the item, thinking about changing my gear around and simply not using it now

Now with Sockets in rings for Legendary Gems, it is even worse. You pretty much need one to roll with Crit Damage and Crit Change right out of the cache so you can turn the Attack Speed into a Socket... Or it needs to roll Main Stat + Socket + Attack Speed + CD or CC.

I hate farming for it, so I'll just be hanging out in T3/T4 for the rest of my DH's natural life using just enough Marauder gear to keep my pets around. With the new legendary gems I should be reaching 1m sheet DPS despite the RNG being a huge douchebag.

Nah. You don't even need one for a pet build. The rolls on it don't really matter as long as you have a decent roll for your main stat. Just get a socket and don't care about the rest.

I have been rocking Asheara's and Aughild's. Now i don't know what do do with my gear, was trying out 3 piece Blackthorne's + 3 piece Aughild's and no RoRG:

(though it looks like I logged out in the middle of changing gear, pretend I had Aughild Shoulders and a +Phys SoJ...)

Tonight I might switch over to a couple pieces of +Poison gear and Try for +Zombie Dog damage with the Tall Man's Finger...

I want the RoRG to run Aughild's, MotE, and Immortal King's on my Barbarian. After the new patch, though, I'm thinking of just running the whole Immortal King's set of which I need two more pieces. I'm also trying to calculate if I can ween her off dependence on CD with a different build.

CD is just so damn efficient though :(

So finally playing T1 this weekend, hit 700k sheet DPS by the end. Hit 3 goblin portals, made over 10M each, but that seems to be chump change compared to what some of you are throwing out.

Crusader is tanky as shit even without building him as such. Standing in desecrator+arcane and can still survive fairly easily. Damage is still light though, without gear I'm constantly running out of wrath, still running Captain America as I don't have any kind of gear consistency to run anything else.

Hmm, looking at my profile on B.net it shows my DPS much less than it does in game. Any suggestions for tweaks to my skills I'm running prior to an end game build?

RoRG isn't mandatory really. Just run all 6 slots with marauders with a SoJ and the best ring you can find (unity preferred, but whatever you have until then) Way more then enough to do T6.

Played 3-4 hours of D3 last night with a new crusader (first run in about a year).

Cranked up the difficulty to the one after hard (master?) and found it pretty fun.

A swarm of normal monsters was actually difficult to kill, and got killed 3-4x before the skeleton king.

So far, seems enjoyable, and the game seems to be giving you new stuff 10+ minutes past the time you begin thinking your current gear can no longer cut it.

Level 20@retrieving the sword shard is also cool. Lots of new stuff to choose from and I don't have to repeat the game 3x anymore.

I helped a member power level the other night, went from lvl 14 to 50 in no time.
I had him up the game to T6 on his level and ran bounties, he was getting a level or two every time I killed a group of enemies.
lvl 65-70 takes a much longer time.

I keep getting Marauder pants, have 4 of them. I have to use the rrog for my 4 piece, as I only have helm, glove, and pants.

Just do the Act 1 Cursed Cellar bounty. Have everyone but the level 70 search for the bounty on T6. Leveled a guy from 1-70 in about an hour and a half. Around level 60 I would tone it down a few torments.

Expert, you're better off playing on Hard since the scaling for Expert/Master is whacky.

Will downgrade to Hard tonight. Thanks for this. Never really got around to reading the new changes and stuff.

I just got RoS, made a season character, saw the difficulty setting then hopped right in! :D

Made a barb today. For some reason my Wizard doesnt seem that much fun after getting to lvl 70. I also find it weird that paragon lvls carry across all characters even when they are not lvl 70.

That's a bonus to help you level up.

I think I need to ramp up the difficulty with my Barb I have, pretty much just mowing down everything.

I'm getting frustrated farming Marauder's Set (non-season). I've been doing it for a month and I only have 2 pieces (Chest and...4 pairs of shoulders  )

I have 2 pieces of Shadow (gloves and pants) but can't find the rest of Marauder, even with gamble. RNG is RNG :(

I've got 3 pieces, glove, helm, and 4 pairs of pants. I was stoked when I finally got a RoRG after 1200+ bounties, went straight to Kadala and got the gloves within 100 shards.

I've got a ton of the Blackthorne and Shadow set pieces, and the Shadow set was cool during the first part of the PTR since the Shadow power boosted your toughness and stayed active till you died. they changed it during the last part of the PTR, I loaded up the game, hit the Shadow power and then it turned off after 5 seconds, I was like WTF!!!
Looked at the bonus and it was changed to all shadow powers for only 5 seconds. :(

I do have the Blackthorne set on my other DH as well as Natalya and I carry the Blackthorne boots with me so I can swap depending on what is going on, RoRG on this character would allow me to be immune to the stuff the elites lay on the ground as well as the 2 sec/enemy killed cool down for Rain of Vengence. this helps a lot when doing the cursed shrine and chest where you have to kill 100 or more enemies, I can have a constant rain of vengence since it cools down so fast.

Between normal, PTR and seasonal toons, I have just over 1300 ACT1 bounties in various Torments with no RRoG yet. My son, who just breaks them down, has received about 15 or more with probably 1/10th the amount of bounties.../sigh

Try for gloves, statistically they're the "easiest" to get (1700 bloodshards on average pre-2.1 so not sure if that changed). Gamble only gloves until you get them. Assume that you won't get them as a drop so bloodshards should be your main goal in order to gamble. No matter how tempted, do not gamble another slot. Then I'd start on pants next (2100 bloodshards on average). Once you have 4 pieces things start to really pick up since you can up the difficulty because of your pets.

Boots and Helm are roughly the same - 2700 shards on average.

This is a problem with the game now. Before you could "trade" your RNG for another persons RNG and acquire the pieces you need.

Now you are totally reliant on what the game decides to give you. Meaning luck to get BiS. Not to mention it is hard enough for a normal person to find 6 pieces of a set. Not to mention finding multiples of the item until the rolls are right.

RRoG? Yeah that is the dumbest item in the game. Having to farm mindless bounties at low difficulty for RNG is stupid. No matter how you structure your built it can ALWAYs be better with a good RRoG because of the slot it can open up.

They need to focus farming even more and take some of the RNG out of the game if we can't trade.

Something like you can craft ANY item in the game for a set soul cost. Maybe like 25, 50 or even 100 souls. You would STILL have to craft multiple items to get a BiS stat rolls but at least you are stuck with pure RNG. It would basically mean that either an item drops for you or you get to choose your item after X number of legendaries that you don't need.

But that is just wishful thinking on my part.

Where do you find these averages?

Your best bet to get set item drops now is probably GRifts. I climbed one level at a time from a level 15 GRift to level 21 on Torment IV, and I got one set item dropped in each one (two in the level 20 GRift). Unfortunately none that I needed...

My Monk is coming along pretty nicely....

Tzo Krin's Gaze + Incense Torch of the Grand Temple + Sunwuko's bonus is pretty nice.

70% Increased Wave of Light Damage 50% less spirit cost and I can cast it anywhere.....still not as good as my wizard but getting there.

Also getting 3 of the items that let you add a socket is pretty nice.

Looking good! Is that a seasonal hero?

I got the Boon of the Hoarder legendary gem from a goblin vault yesterday and now I really want Custerian Wristguards, Goldwrap, and Goldskin to go bananas on exp. I did a cursed shrine event (kill 5 waves) on normal difficulty and bagged 180K in like 15 seconds with very little goldfind, so I can only imagine how good it will be in higher difficulties. The only ring with a socket that I had was a lvl 32 Puzzle Ring though, so I gotta upgrade soon haha. Too bad I found the Vault in a normal game...

I gambled a Homunculus with my first bunch of shards and it's pretty cool having a free zombie dog appear every 5 seconds; I've taken dogs off my bar and replaced it with Sacrifice - Provoke the Pack, so not only do I get 1090% physical bombs every 5 seconds but I also boost DPS by 20%.

Yep seasonal HC. Not nearly as good as my Wizard RIP. But still pretty awesome.

getting a barb and paladin to level 70 right now.....67 to 70 is o painful.

wait blood shard randomized equipment can give you set pieces and legionaries? Or is that only in HC?

It's in the normal game modes too. Spend enough shards and you will get orange items.

Wow why didnt I know this. I bought some blood shard stuff and never got anything. After I read I immediately got on and spent all of my blood shard and got a set staff. I didnt realize it had the chance of it.

Though I still need help understanding why my wizzard's dmg is so low.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Sgtcurry-1260/hero/51287365 is my character. Some one please school me on what I should do.

You need more crit damage and crit chance....but mostly crit damage. Rings, Amulets, Gloves and your weapon should all have crit damage.

Rings, Amulets, Helmets, Bracers, Gloves should mostly all have Crit chance.

What is a good place to be in terms of crit dmg? 300%? Also is it possible for the one hander weapon to have a socket?

How are people quickly leveling characters by themselves? I just keep running the Hell Rift in act IV over and over. It works I guess, but kinda boring. Any other quick leveling techniques for people with no friends?

The good place to be is as high as you can get it... :D

I have a WD that does 401% Crit. And for your question on sockets, yes any type weapon can have a socket.

Running bounties and rifts can yield high xp numbers in short amounts of time. Also try doing them in a pub game.
