E-Sports Drawing Big Crowds and Big Money

Growth of the genre should definitely help in the future. It's always interesting when Singsing is serious, he's actually very thoughtful and articulate haha.

Yea he plays with a female streamer, I think Sheever, and he yells at her when she doesn't know the German that people speak or she makes fun of it. He says he knows three languages, she should know at least 2 haha.

Yep, watching the NA Region finals right now..Audience, players, casters all full of nothing but socially inept fatties...

Try and be a little less of a jackass bro.

Wow look at that burn. Truth hurt much?

E-sports has been steadily growing since I started following it about a decade ago. It used to be a joke like many of you think it is; however you'd be quite silly to brush it off as a simple fad, or something that's not serious. It's a multi-billion dollar industry globally, and the percentage of people who are interested and investing in this type of stuff (gamers) is increasing every day as old people die off and younger generations mature.

It's already gone through a few separate growth bubbles that have burst. However each failure has made the scene more stable and mature overall. Close to a million people tuned in concurrently to watch the NA LoL regional finals. At least a 25% growth over what we saw last year. More viewers = more ad revenue, and more revenue means growth of the scene. :)

Some regression with growth is a healthy sign actually. So those small bubbles popping are good steps for that industry.

I wonder if esports has reached "critical mass" yet to make it viewable long-term. There is an increasing amount of money being pumped into it alright in the last few years...
