[Rumor] Steam Summer Sale starts on 19th and lasts 8 days?

I'm looking for

Don't Starve
Gone Home
Transistor

I could go for a big discounted AAA game as well, I suppose something random. Maybe even a strategy game, Civ or something.

400 fucking games in your steam library? Damn, son!

I've got over 600...

Granted, most of them by this point were from cheap bundles or a publisher catalog purchase from some of the early sales, but...

Yeah. I do have a problem.

Though I'm a lot more picky about bundle purchases these days, and only buy individual games if I'm going to be playing them right away (no matter how low they get).

Wasn't last year's sales during the week of Independence Day? I'm hoping so, my bank account needs to reload. :(

GOG is the only service I will use besides Steam actually. DRM free, no client to run. If I can't find an old game on Steam, GOG is definitely the way to go.

+1 on this.

About the steam sale, I really don't want anything...... I'm sure I'll buy something, even though I don't want to.

GOG announced Galaxy recently, their client. It still 100% DRM free, but an optional client you can use to manage all of your games/purchases.

That's actually pretty cool, and I trust GOG. However, I'm still doing my best to keep everything in Steam since that's where 98% of my games are. I'll probably stick to the usual route for the time being. Thanks for the tip though, I'm going to check it out anyway.

Ignorant statement is ignorant.

I actually scored a nice deal on Rogue Legacy this week. Even got Fallout 1/2/Tactics for free from them.

Yeah, he just seems to be a curmudgeonly old man. Or just miserable in general maybe. Seems to hop into threads just to make comments like that. Oh well. Some people are like that. The rest will enjoy the sale(s).

^^You mean per game or like just being logged into steam at all? You can see the per-game total in the games list under your profile. Probably not too hard to total those up if needed.

Also, as to OP's rumor, is that June 19th or July 19th? I thought it happened closer to the week of July 4th, but seems like it gets a few days later each year. If it started next week that'd be awesome! :D

I know their per game totals arent accurate for older games. It says I have only 627 hours on CS:S which I can recall having more than that years ago. My brother has 2,673 hrs on record and I played more than him. Not sure how it screwed up, but it did.

1219.9 hrs total on steam games:rolleyes:

Almost 4,000 hours spent playing games through Steam. At least I'm not that bad as some of you. ;)

....you've shown us your play log and its full of 1-4hr games you never gave a fair chance. You've got issues. Hypnotized by sales!!!

Nay I just want one game and it's in a $2.49 bundle with 19 other games. If I buy the single game off Steam it is $9.99. So I buy the pack and deep six the rest of them. My buddies always ask me to play something multiplayer when they see me fire up a single player game.

You guys with 400 games!?!? lmao I would guess the hobby is `owning` as much as playing. I only have a hand full as im fairly new to steam. How many of those are currently installed?

Only 519 installed on Steam because I have lots of Origin, Ubisoft, GOG, etc clients also.

The past couple of years there sales have sucked bad!

When I hear this, I interpret it more to mean,"Steam has on sale games I already own and nothing I actually want."

This is true of a lot of folks though, some people just pick games up when they come out or when they get on the daily/weekly Steam sales.

Meh, whatever I see thats worthy of my time now.

I just grabbed a small handful of old games on GOG that I've been re-eyeing for a while. :D

I'll pick up a couple of newer games at the Steam sale provided the prices go low enough. (Wolfenstein, Metro Redux pre-order, etc.) Though, to be honest, I don't mind giving the Metro guys full price for that.

I'd be surprised to see Wasteland 2 go down in price given that it's not out. Would be fairly unfair to those who kickstarted it.

Over the last 10 years, you've spent 1035.5 hours playing this selection, which includes 66 items, is valued at $1059.4, and requires 468.8 GB

That's a kinda cool website. If It added hours played in WoW I'd prolly triple that # ...

Hopefully we'll see Company of Heroes II on sale for a great price, been waiting to pick it up for a while. I'd also like to see DayZ, The Forest, 7 Days to Die and all those other Zombie/Survival games on sale for good prices as well. I've always had a big interest in survival games. I'd also probably pick up: Skyrim Legendary Edition, Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition, F1 2013, Arma 3, Space Engineers, Starbound, Borderlands 2, Men of War: Assault Squad 2.

But I do already have 107 games and only 2 installed, so who knows?

If DayZ goes to $19.99 or less I'll likely buy it.

That cheesy 5% sale they had a few weeks back was lame.

Any thoughts on Dark Souls II? I'm an FPS guy but this game looks interesting to me.

It's still selling very well. They may feel as though they have no reason to lower the price at this time.

Just ran mine:

Over the last 10 years, you've spent 679.6 hours playing this selection, which includes 184 items, is valued at $2769.85, and requires 1186.9 GB

Grim Dawn and maybe if Payday 2 goes on sale again will pick up Big Bank Heist.
