Video down, can't find it anywhere now.
The main thing this game needs is a reason/gameplay that focuses people to work TOGETHER.
The chaotic "lonewolf" style in BF3/4 doesn't lend itself well to a game about this.
They need to find ways to bring players together through gameplay elements that rewards them for sticking together and using taictics.
The concept of teamwork runs contrary to DICE's current ethos of accommodating the lone wolf mentality. They have removed all mechanics which previously punished anyone who didn't work as a team because of their desire to appeal to as wide an audience as possible, not because it enhanced gameplay but in order to generate maximum profit.
i feel like there's even more incentive to work together now compared to past games. you're awarded extra points for sticking with your squad and reviving/repairing etc. you also get squad 'field upgrades' in BF4. and there's still the fundamental incentive of staying alive longer if you stick with your squad. there's some great game modes that reward you for teamwork too like obliteration, rush, and carrier assault. i don't think the problem is DICE leaving these incentives out, i think they've added a lot more over the years. the problem is the player community. more players just want to run around and shoot shit (myself included at times). but instead of joining a TDM game they join a conquest game which exacerbates the frustration when they do stuff like take off in a chopper alone and crash it into a mountainside.
