New Stalker Info

should have just kept the title from the article--- Stalker series saved from GameSpy oblivion via new patch

I played the MP once or twice. Artifact hunt or whatever. I had no idea what to do, and the UI and lag was unbearable. :p I wish they would just make a sequel (I don't count that MMO as one).

They can't because that stupid fuck in the Ukraine(or wherever he lives) owns the rights to the Stalker franchise and won't give it to the former developers. Seriously, fuck that guy.

I would do some pretty crazy stuff to be able to get a new STALKER game. loved that series.

It doesn't have to have the STALKER name. ;) They can keep the theme and overall gameplay and throw on a new name.

I think he actually owns the franchise or something. So they would have to make it completely different. We pretty much won't see a new Stalker unless that idiot gets the stick out of his ass.

Yeah but the franchise is little more than a name, I imagine. I mean, he can't hold the rights to a "post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with radioactive anomalies and random NPCs roaming around".

maybe the situation is ripe for a kickstarter campaign with the devs as the project leads.

This. Just like Operation Flash Point to ArmA. They simply changed the name. Same engine (though updated) and whatnot.
