So having read the thread on WD, I was hoping to get a snapshot of your thoughts at the moment:

Hearing how poorly it runs on the PC, I'm staying away for now. Will bite down the line at a lower price point.

Extreme vote targets.
I agree with waiting for improvements for many people, but that doesnt mean it cant be enjoyed now by people with decent kit or those prepared to reduce quality a bit.
But that doesnt make it a must buy either, so soz, cant vote.

me! me! me! let me see... ... ... hmmmm... ... ... maybe... ... hmmmm... ..meh! i chose meh! yesssss!

buy it but only if you can snag a good deal on it in the F/S forums...don't pay anywhere close to full price ($60)...under $30 is what you should look for...I paid $25 for the Nvidia bundled code but it's probably worth closer to $20 in my opinion

you should add an option in your poll: buy it but only if you can find a great deal

It may get better with patches. Overall, it's a mid-quality release for a AAA title, which shows that Ubisoft reallys slacked off for the PC version.

The first day I had some stuttering issues (disabled paging file fixed this), and now it's smooth as butter for me using ultra settings @1080p. I would suggest to anyone wanting it, to do as said above and try to grab a code >$60 on the for sale forums. I don't think it's going to be the game of the year or anything, but I am enjoying it a lot. The story seems pretty good so far, but I'm not very far in yet.
I'm going to install it on my htpc this weekend to see how well it runs on a weaker system.

With all of the WTB threads around here for it, it feels bigger than the hype over Titanfall.

Regardless of the gripes over the differences between the E3 2012 footage and actual gameplay, I'm sure it will be fun for those who buy it.

Wait and see what happens. If the performance issues get patched...well, it still won't be a great game, but if you can pick it up for $20 or less it's probably worth it if you like GTA clones.

As much as I want to play it now just because some of the stories from the people who are playing it, there's still too much wrong with the game to warrant paying full price for the game. I'd probably wait until it hits the $20 mark TBH.

is there a chance that this game will be heavily modded?
I don't like what came out, but I see potential.

Extreme vote targets.
Yeah, I can't pick one. I'd select a "if you've got the cash, why not?" option.

It's definitely one of the coolest games I've played in a while. Not everything is fun and wonderful, but nearly everything about it is cool.

So the graphics aren't that smooth and need patches? Seems to be a disturbing trend in game releases these days. Aside from that, is the game itself worth a shit? Batman Origins was all kinds of buggy but so good that it was still worth it IMO. If the game is pretty solid I may pick it up but if it's a "meh" game with broken graphics I can't see much reason to not wait til it hits a Steam sale.

it's truly shit. i wanted to like it, but nope. car physics are horrid. story is retarded. voice acting sucks. main character is a fucking idiot, hate the dude with a passion. the 'hacking' mechanics are not fun at all (hold Q to progress story). all you need is the silenced pistol you start out with, don't bother with anything else (the guns all sound/feel terrible anyway). ai is dumb, can walk right up to them and pop them in the face, and the rest will be none the wiser.

performance is terrible: stuttering, shit popping in/out everywhere, severe framerate drops, shader issues. bugs everywhere. no patch can save this game. don't waste your money, more importantly your time/sanity.

I am saying wait for some patches. It runs OK on my machines, but it needs some patches and some revised drivers for AMD and NVidia.

The verdict is it's another cross-gen cash-in. Thank you, Sheeple, for buying into bullshit like this over and over.

I'm satisfied with my purchase. So I will say, with total and absolute sincerity: you're welcome.

Playing in on ultra on the 290X, I swapped for 780 Ti (and the pocketed change was quite nice... came about $200 forward). Ultra details, max ambient occlusion, msaax2, and game looks very good. Loving faces and all the details.

Driving model and inventory is meh if you play on KB/M.... but I stopped playing TPP games on mouse long time ago. The X360 pad is the way to play them.

I love the ability to hack everyone and the amount of details the game gives about people you pass. I'm also glad they didn't put some asinine timed minigame to every hack, but y ou can just hold a button to do it. I'm happy with that purchase. Since FC3 or even since Anno 2070 Ubi had stellar track for me

Reported for saying something positive about the game.

If you've played a GTA game within the last decade then you'll be bored to tears with this game. Everything is just so mediocre physics ,driving, and combat all feel so basic and underwhelming. The hacking mechanic isn't as interesting as it seems. Reminds me of a assassins creed game where none of the game mechanics live up to their potential.

I had a bit of fun trying to approach the game hitman style -- as in be as sneaky/stealthy as possible... only played maybe an hour or two (damn work)

But i have crossfire 290's running at 1440p, I should be smooth as butter with way better graphics. Car physics truly are crap. The aiming/gun system is meh.

Haven't tried the online play... and can't imagine it's all that great. It's a $20 title if you really want to try it... I'd have been pissed if I spent 60 dollars and gotten the steaming turd of a console port it really is under the skin.

Well sounds like I'll wait a while then and let some patches get out and the price to go down. Man this is been a bad week. Was really looking forward to Wolfenstein and that's a dud and now this one. Not the end of the world cause I've just discovered Borderlands 2 and am having a great time with it so it'll hold me over til something else good (hopefully) comes out.

A huge Meh for me.

Played for about 2-3 hours.

Story started off good enough, but the game is just so crap.

Driving mechanics are awful, it feels like driving on ice or something.

The side missions are just terrible, the stealth mechanic, and just the ambiguity how to complete some of the side missions is just frustrating. I turned off the game after failing some mission to "disable" 2 organ dealers. Not that I mind driving games, but checkpoint based driving side mission feels like it has no place in this game, at least how it was implemented.

The hacking is fun at first, but I unless it becomes more complex it seems very 2 dimensional, and will get old fast.

I also get the feeling that the original story, and game play was changed to make it fit more of a "GTA" style game, which it should never have been. The main character is at first shown to be a compassionate and moral person that seems to oppose violence for the most part. But the minutes later I am remotely blowing away a team of security contractors, what about their family? It just feels like the cinematics were produced first and the game later, it just feels so dis-joined. I mean obviously we can't have a passive protagonist but it feels like there are two separate characters in the game. I'm sure Ubi would say its the duality of man or some crap like that, but I just feel that the original idea of the game was compromised so much to make a GTA clone.

Also the game is buggy, more funny buggy than anything else but buggy none the less.

Graphics are decent.

I guess not a meh can I change my vote to avoid until on sale?

Rant over.

Not worth 60 Bucks worth at most 20.

It's a decent game that will only be better with a few patches. I don't know if it's worth $60, but I can think of few that are (including GTA). You can get it for half price on ebay (PC of course) and it's worth that IMO. I don't regret my purchase.

Funny that your mini-review mirrors what I said here almost exactly...right down to the frustrating organ dealer convoy bullshit mission. :D

Great minds.

I am glad someone else feels the same way, honestly I have found it very tough to play some of the more recent games they just don't hold my interest and seem to be of poor quality, I thought I was just getting old.

Last new game I played that I actually enjoyed was Far Cry 3 and even that one was getting a bit monotonous and shallow towards the end. The whole second island part kinda sucked.

Anyone mention the auto-aim you can't disable?
Even on the lowest setting, it's very noticable.

I voted for the patches option but I would also wait for a sale in the $15-25 range. The game is rather medicore.

The two games I was so stoked about this year were Titanfall and Watch Dogs, sigh.

I think it's really fun. I've only done about 2 missions, the rest have been just messing around. I just tried out online free roam for the first time and really had a lot of fun with it, though I can see that portion getting tiring quickly.

It's too bad the performance is shit. High textures + everything else ultra and I'm getting 30-40 fps with some stutter, I think that's unacceptable considering my rig and how it looks.

How is a new IP a cash in lol.

Loving the game myself. I keep waiting for the game to get boring. It just never does. Awesome game from Ubisoft.

I also have zero performance issues or game breaking bugs. ( think I saw 1 bug ) But no game is bug free. So this is just nitpicking and hardly a deal breaker.

Has no impact on mouse and keyboard.. only applies to pad users which probably need it cause its impossible to precision aim on a pad. ( at least fast )

I'm enjoying it. I don't enjoy the driving (too arcade) and the random DirectX BSODs I get. But for the most part, it's decent, even if a little unpolished. I'm sure a sequel will be more in line on what the developers actually wanted to do. AC1 I played very little of because of the unpolished nature of it. I've played every AC since.

Doing the gang hideouts I can definitely see my crosshair following enemies' movements even though I'm not moving my mouse. It doesn't "snap" to enemies like GTA 5, but the game is definitely moving my crosshair at certain times.

I don't have a GamePad plugged in. :p

Hehehe - you put a grin on my face with this one.

Seems like this one belongs in the 'Steam sale' category. Damnit, another one for the growing backlog.

Yeah, there is something going on there for sure...I've noticed the mouse doing wonky things as well while aiming.
