Watch Dogs

I disable 'cloud save syncronization' from within the Uplay settings for all Uplay games...had an issue once with AC2 where it lost my saves and made me backtrack...ever since then I disable it with no issues

That's what is happening with me right now. I made it out of the baseball stadium and when I get to my apartment I'm stuck outside of it every time that I login. I can't progress past that because the game resets to that point every time that I try to play.

I'll just let them work on getting the login servers working then and hope that fixes it by tonight.

You know with all of the launch issues other major titles have had with login servers this past year, you'd think someone in management would say "hey, maybe we should benchmark the projected load versus our actual capacity".

Get out of here with this crazy talk.. A man could get locked up for suggesting management look beyond their own feet for a few seconds and do some forward thinking instead.

Just to clear this for everyone if it has not been cleared yet. There is no hacking in this game, you press a button and an action the result of a hack script occurs. What you are doing is the same as getting in an elevator and pressing the "use" button. I was truly hoping that it would have not been this arcade and would resemble somewhat like old school hacking games, where you would actually log in to a computer, do some work on the command line, gain access, trace etc...
All hacking in this game is done by pressing the X key on your controller....it is pathetic, it is like a fighting game where there is only one button and you press it and your character executes a super duper 58 move combo and beats the opponent.
Extremely dumbed down, a complete waste of 20-30 gigs of space and $60.

Honestly using a command line and terminal emulator in a game doesn't sound fun at all. And that's what games are supposed to be right - fun?

Did you even watch any videos of the game?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but this is why you should look to sources of information such as Twitch.tv and Youtube to see how games are before you buy them. On Twitch, I ask the broadcaster to show off some of the cool things that they can do in the game and most will do just that. If you ask them not to do story missions most will oblige. I'm fine with the way they did the hacking, although I too would have preferred something more robust and meaningful.

geez you defend this game at every turn...every element, every detail...is the game flawless in your opinion?...watching old gameplay video is not the same as playing the game

seems like Fallout 3 or Bioshock's 'hacking' mechanism had more nuance and detail to it...seeing command line interfaces would make the game more fun as it shows a careful attention to detail

Defend? Thought this was a discussion. Am I not allowed to respond accordingly? Nothing I'm saying is "defensive" where-as there are plenty of you attacking the game. I merely respond in turn. Look at the post above you. He's basically saying the same thing. Check videos, watch streams, do your homework before you buy a game.

They're different games. You're not going to stop and type "hax st0plight=green" when going 90mph down a road.

Or perhaps you would like some time for Aiden to just sit down at a computer screen and you get to type out a bunch of shit for 30 minutes. Thrilling gameplay I'm sure.

So, I played some more and it hitches like a mofo on crack. My fps outside are in the 50-60s and the hitching is really bad. I had to reduce from 4x MSAA to 2x MSAA and textures from Ultra to High to get it at playable rates but still hitches sometimes.

Also, the graphics are just bad. Remind me of Saints Row 4 bad. Very uneven for the most part. Gameplay is fun thus far and hacking is OK. Not sure I enjoy it a lot but was fun raising barriers to stop the police (was like spike strip in NFS games).

Other than that, decent game but backlogged for now since I refuse to play it unless performance is fixed and I can max out settings in game.

Can't run MSAA in this game on your GTX780 due to a lack of VRAM. Try the Temporal SMAA. Works pretty good on my HD7950's.

For what it's worth, I really hated the hacking mechanic in FO3. I'd prefer no minigame to a poorly-designed minigame every time.

I'm still not able to log into Uplay...I refuse to play it offline as a lot of the cool features will be disabled

EDIT: just as I was typing this I was able to finally log on...hooray!

You play Deus Ex: HR?
A lot of people are comparing the themes from Watch Dogs to that game, mostly hoping WD would be an "open world DE:HR".

That was a seriously amazing hacking mechanic... albeit too easy.

Cool features = Being nagged every 5 minutes by someone wanting to challenge.

that's honestly one of the main reasons why I bought the game...sort of like the Dark Souls pvp experience...players invading your single player game

Getting it to work. In game.

Things look good in the early goings. With a GTX 780 with 3GB of VRAM I'm running at 1920X1200 and for laughs I have everything maxed out except for shadows at hight. MSAA is at 8.

I think I'll probably have to be pulling back a bit on some of that but I wanted to try it as a frame of reference for laughs. Now I'm going to set things against the HOCP write up.

Why for laughs? You should be able to max the game out at that resolution with a high end card like yours.

Terrible port. Not worth your time or money. Move along.

I think it's more like- it's not worth full price but if you can snag a good deal from someone selling the bundled Nvidia code then it might be worth it...I got it for $25 here on the [H] For Sale forums

I'm enjoying the ctOS towers. Do they get more involved later in the game? They're way too simple so far.

Some are a tad more complex but once you figure out the methodology after the first 2 or 3 even the harder ones are rather easy to figure out.

Do you get paid per post or is it more of an hourly rate.

Now any time someone mentions about how UPlay is no worse than Steam or whatever, I'm just gonna point them to this thread... :D

Yeah but when Steam goes down, I have never.. EVER.. EVAH had a problem accessing my games. Major difference.. When Uplay is down the client goes into full on herpa derp mode and you're lucky if it even lets you have the option to go offline let alone the client actually start correctly. 90% of the time it was crashing with a fatal error.

When Steam goes down.. Never.. Ever a problem.. Just straight dialog asking you to try again or go offline.

That's exactly my point...Steam is about 1000x better than UPlay for various reasons, not the least of which being the ones you listed.

I look forward to playing this after it's patched and has proper driver support.
I'm glad it doesn't have a stupid hacking minigame that you need to play again and again.
