Watch Dogs

Runs perfect for me.

2500K @ 4.2Ghz + 660 Ti 3G FTW.

50-60 fps on ultra + motion blur off. 1920x1080.

Running new nvidia drivers.

Runs fine on Ultra, until you have half the city chasing you across 3 districts, then the game can get a bit stuttery. Gonna try turn down some settings tomorrow.

Disabling motion blur and depth of field reduced the stuttering for me.

Have an hour or so in.Sig rig. All Ultra except textures set to High. Very solid ,looks nice and is fun so far. Does get stuttery @ times from loading but is definetely playable. Id say arond 55-60fps. SLI scaling well @ around 90% and VRAM diefinetely hitting the limiter @2033.Will play more later. Overall, pretty happy so far.

It's not illegal to circumvent UPlay. In fact, it's generally recommended :)
It may violate a ToS somewhere, but that's one for contract law.

Back on point...

Having watched a lot of streams, it seems like the game plays well indoors. But the open-world play seems incomplete. I can't quite put my finger on it and maybe my opinion would change with hands on use. But there is something it lacks that other OW games (RDR,Sleeping Dogs, etc) possess. If this title gets to a sequel, I think it might be impressive. Is that the general consensus? It almost seems like they took the good parkour movement of the AC series, some of the ideas from Splinter Cell, and did a lackluster job tacking on modern things like vehicles.

Actually, it IS illegal to circumvent DRM under the DMCA. You don't have to like the laws but you do need to abide by them.

Plenty of people on neogaf showed proof of their Ubi orders arriving early. So you can't say for certain unless they provided evidence. And honestly with your hostility I wouldn't show you proof anyway.

Which is meaningless since it wasn't unlocked yet. Excuse me for not being a criminal and looking down upon people who are bragging about that kind of thing :). Not sure when it became cool to brag about committing crimes. Oh wait, it didn't... the people who are doing so are just self-entitled gen me'ers. I mean REALLY, whining about a game you pirated and demanding it be fixed or threatening not to play as though they should care?

my review of the game wasnt done on my rig on my sig lol i have a 780gtx OC evga version.

Still runs like shit

Most of the people who've played it early seem to like it.

So you've played the game? On your main rig in the sig? Jesus. Also I find it funny that you think a fart joke is the most humorous thing you've found.

ahh here is the post i am replying to

I'm downloading it now through Uplay. It's coming down @ about 3.9 MB/s. I'm going to try it when Cat 14.6 hits.

I'll be running it @ 1920x1200 with an OCed 7970.

I'm definitely not going to use motion blur. I never use that one in any game.

Yeah, I never got the appeal of motion blur myself :(.

I like these types of open world games and I'm currently downloading it off steam, I'll see how it runs on my 7990. I recall Assassins Creed 3 ran like shit on my gtx 590 with flickering textures and problems with snow outdoors when it was released and took Nvidia at least a month to fix so these problems are nothing new.

The hacking gets old fast. Being able to see people's job and income is silly, and hacking people just gives stupid generic side missions that I got tired of after about the 3rd one. If that's the biggest selling point of the game, it's very unimpressive.

pretty much what I expected...8/10 was my prediction...the sites I trust pretty much average out that way...sounds like a decent game...could never meet the hype and expectations but 8/10 is pretty good...people expect everything to be 10/10...I actually read a review which compared the single player invasion aspect to Dark Souls which got me excited...but apparently it's not as well implemented with little to no rewards

a poor man's (or rich man's) GTA5 depending on your perspective

Seems like it was a very wise decision to buy a 4GB video card, from what people are saying in this thread and the other one. Same goes for SLI/Crossfire. Never again.

Well, I got up this morning and Crossfire is now working. Definitely an improvement. Hopefully can play more later today.

I'm not going to post spoilers. I'm just going to say I'm having serious fun so far in Watch Dogs. I will definitely be putting some more time into it later.

Glad to know that it has potential. I'll start playing after I get home from work. :)

Well just finished the first mission. The game did stutter when I first came out of the stadium but after that it was fine during driving. Running everything maxed out except using Temporal SMAA setting. IMO, it cleans up quite a lot of edges and looks damn nice. Overall, the game does feel plasticky. Character models look decent but general street characters are low polygon. The lighting and effects are pretty dumbed down and nowhere near the fidelity of the E3 demo.

However, game is running like a champ and recognizes my 144 Hz display which is awesome. Thus far, the start has been a bit slow and too easy. I am guessing things improve after a few hand holding missions. Overall, looks like a decent game.

All the comparisons to GTA IV are nice in terms of attention to detail but just sheer graphics are much better in this game than in GTA IV or V for that matter. Also this game actually runs at 70+ fps whereas, even after all these years, GTA IV does not run past 60 fps and has stuttering. GTA V is a joke to play on X360 with sub-30 fps 90% of the time.

Will post more when I have some good hours posted in the game.

All in all, it’s obvious – by now – that the final PC build is nowhere close to the E3 2012. This does not mean that Watch_Dogs is not a great looking game. Still, this comparison proves that the E3 2012 build featured more details. This comparison also proves that our previous comparisons were valid, and that the PC version does not pack any specific FX (other than TXAA and HBAO+) that is exclusive to it. In short, yes; while the game looks stunning, it has been downgraded.

Soo i got to play a bit before work, and am so far having a lot of fun. it does tend to judder a but when i am driving and its laggy as hell if i try to run it maxed out. i am running a 290 so i should be able to run it pretty close to maxed out, is amd getting the shaft on watchdogs?

14.6 Beta drivers should drop today hopefully and those should remedy some of your issues I would think.

Watch Dogs is probably a good, not great looking game...I'll buy it for the gameplay and not the graphics

It is GTA mixed with Sleeping dogs and your special abilities are controlled from your cell phone...yawnnn It bored me

I'll respond to this for giggles. I already replied to someone else who said something similar back a few pages when this discussion was still relevant.

There did not appear to be any date lock or check when you registered the game. If you received, say the PC physical version early, you could just simply install, activate and play.

Honestly. I have to ask this. What did you expect? Are you actually playing the game or just watching videos/streams.

Did you watch any of the videos before release? Because this stuff was pretty much spelled out.

is hacking even a core aspect of the game or can you just run around doing other 'things'?...from the few reviews I've read it almost seems like a tacked on component versus something integral to the gameplay

You hit Q. A lot. For pretty much everything.

One button hacks for a lot, then there are other hacks which require you to solve a "network" puzzle by rotating certain switching so everything flows to an unlock..

It might've been interesting if there was some sort of challenge associated with hacking, but it's just a "hold X button" affair. Siphoning two grand out of someone's bank account by standing right in front of him and pressing a button for one second really does diminish any kind of value of the mechanic.

Dedsec did all the hard work and made the scripts. Isn't that what you would do?

so far the only thing that really annoys me is the vehicle draw distance is abysmally low like, ps1 draw distances
