Watch Dogs

physical discs arriving early doesn't mean much in this age of online activation...Watch Dogs uses Uplay...unless Uplay/Ubisoft unlocked the game early it makes no sense

I don't believe there was a date check or anything. Plenty of people picked up physical PS360, Xbone and PS4 copies and were able to play no problem.

doesn't apear to be a lockout until midnight on my game through uplay.

in the menu right now setting it up.

I haven't gotten anything about my nvidia code preorder.

i bought it from gaming titans site has been under maint. since december and got my key a couple hours ago

assumed it would be locked out until midnight but i fired it up and it works fine

Looks like it could unlock on my Steam account anywhere from 9-10pm, even if the uPlay doesn't unlock, all that means is no multiplayer.

Uplay sucks. Not even in my game list, and when it is I have to download it since they don't preload.

Gamefly has unlocked their copies. It's actually an complete 180 from when I bought AC3 from them so far. That was a mess last time.

Downloading from Uplay now, and this is where having a 105MB down connection comes in handy. :D

Hopefully some early review hit in the morning. I'm not sure about getting this right now game with Mario Kart coming later this week...but if it's truly great I might go ahead.

Mine unlocked on uplay 3 minutes after I posted my comment. I still have 20 minutes left to before I can start playing.

How I envy those with 100mbps or greater internet connections.

Again, same boat..8.5MBs with 20 minutes to go..Cant complain. Also snagged the ne NV drivers as well..Time to grab a sandwich. :D

Funny its only a 14.2GB DL..Who were the ones saying it was 25gb?? Aargh..Happy mining! lmao! :D

I was getting ready to log on Dark Souls 2 and my phone goes off, Gamefly updated my order... I nearly shit my pants, they never release on time.

Origin copies not released yet either.

Why do Ubisoft not understand how important Pre LOADING is? It puts a far less strain on the servers at launch if you odn't have a ton of people all downloading gb's and gb's of data for the game at once.

I'm getting 6~MB/s, so it doesn't look like Uplay's servers are slacking this round. AC4 was way slower at launch.

Apparently there isn't enough stress on the Uplay servers for them to consider preloading, seeing as I just knocked down a 14gb download in under 45 minutes...

Albeit with a huge internet connection, that server is just not stressed at the time you would think it would be most hammered.

Yep, I was downloading at 6.8MB/s continuously, which is pretty much my internet speed. So their servers are handling it well. It just finished actually, time to play!

edit: well maybe it didn't, what the hell's going on

edit: restarted uplay and good to go. I was scared I might have to redownload because how shitty uplay has been for me in the past.

Same problem, same fix.

DL'ing finally, if it sucks as bad as I hear for AMD cards, I'll have to toss my old 3gb 660Ti in the box.

I'm having issues trying to run in fullscreen, it boots me to desktop everytime I try it. Running the latest nvidia drivers / 1440p monitor. Any ideas?

1440p gaming here on a GTX 780, try doing a clean install of the nvidia drivers released yesterday via custom install options and see if that helps.

Decided to pick it up on Steam, downloading now. Partly because there are no major AAA games coming out for a while.

Jesus, 2 290s and the game runs like shit. I think it's a bad idea that I bought this game.

Anybody know when the review embargo lifts? A specific time, maybe.
I want to see how the scores play out for this.

Played for a couple hours. The driving sucks, but otherwise the game is interesting. It feels more like a Mafia game than a GTA game so far.

Nothing screams "this is a bad game" so far.

Started it up, crashed on intro video. Verified game. No go. Disabled antivirus. No go. Driver clean and fresh install. No go.

Disabled Crossfire on my 6990ms? Bingo.

Thanks, Ubisoft, for nerfing my video ram.

Played a mission or two. I guess a lot of the issues have been fixed with the official release (for those of us running Nvidia cards anyway). I'm running smoothly at 1440p on Ultra. The only time I got some chop was when I was looking into several spotlights at once. It doesn't look like the early trailers did, but it doesn't look bad either. The hacking thing seems cool so far, but we'll see if the novelty wears off after a while.

Game looks pretty and is fun, but they give you a darn near impossible free roam mission right off the bat unless your a mad good driver or you've played the game a while and really skilled up (Cleaner Contract).
