Does anyone really care about movies like this? That Julian Assange movie was a huge bomb and now they want to make this movie? Hollywood will never learn.

Sony Pictures Entertainment has acquired the rights to the new book by journalist Glenn Greenwald about fugitive US intelligence leaker Edward Snowden, the studio said Wednesday.

"In a world where a man steals and borrows his colleagues network password to copy classified documents from the US government. He flies to Russie and stays in the airport for a couple weeks eating cafeteria food and using the public bathroom. Things are about to get crazy when Russia denies his entry, he faces uncertainty. We will embark on one man's journey to find himself and find a way out. A hero will rise and an empire will fall. A world will be changed forever when your life is no longer your own. One man must find the truth....Find out next summer 2015"

I can hear the trailer now: Note "" are dialog, ** is voice over, and -- is narrative of what is onscreen.

*In a world, where secrets can protect an entire nation...*
"General, this is our newest security admin, Edward.." shakes hands in slow mo with the bass sound "bum-bum" ...
*One man will challenge those secrets, and break open pandoras box*
-Buzz and whirr of a pc and a single beep as files are transferred, window automatically opens with an ominous NSA logo-
"Oh my god" says snowden
-some silence as he reads something-
black screen
*and change the course of a nation forever*

-Lots of orchestral music as he walks around airport terminals, eats a sandwich, drinks some water-
*this fall*
-more orchestral music and random gov people saying ominous things-
*Watch one man bring a nation to it's knees*
-music is really building now, Edward is making threats on TV-
*Matt Damon*
*Miley Cyrus*
-Music crescendos and goes silent-

"Snowden copies files"

Please let Michael Bay direct this. At least that way it will be interesting... Otherwise, I've already seen it on the news...

A few guns, car chases, explosions, chicks with big boobs. Then, I'll check it out.

Might have to adjust this some, let's say ....

A hero will rise and have his idealistic hopes crushed when President Obama says "We are going to make many changes, starting in five years, maybe ..." followed soon by "Enjoy Mother Russia Ed, live long and prosper in the new Free People's Paradise. Maybe you can buy a dacha on the Black Sea once Crimea and Ukraine have been peacefully annexed, you chump!"

Screen fades to black, world forgets poor Ed.

God please NO! The last thing this issue needs is being turned into a bad joke.

Doesn't Sony know you can't make a movie about him until after he's dead?

America loves American heroes, especially ones who defend their freedom. If that love is enough to pull people into a documentary.. Well we'll have to wait and see!

Sony is bleeding cash and this is the type of risk that they are taking? Either this better be a super low budget flick, or they better do something very interesting. I do not pay money to get bored out of my mind. I agree with above poster that they should get either Michael Baby or Jerry Bruckheimer to direct this.

Not even Michael Bay can make this story interesting...

And Sony wonders why the PS3/ PS4 is the only division turning a profit....
Hmmmm, they might want to think it over a bit.
Seriously, any movie starring a creepy albino cast as a hero is destined to fail.
