Blackcoin... Who else mines @ the multipool?

I was lucky enough to buy into black coin this past friday. The multipool was really picking up (around 3GH net hashrate). I bought 5 BTC worth of blackcoin @ 9300 satoshi, two days later it has peaked at over 70,000 satoshi. Thats about a 700% increase.

The multipool is now hammering away at 10gH.

Im glad I jumped from the "doge train" to get behind a coin with a community that has actual market and buy support for their coin. that 10GH of scrypt power gets put back into buying the coin every 24 hrs..

Anyone else mining at blackcoinpool?

I am -- I started about 4 days ago with 6-7Mhash -- amazing the gains it's had.

When I started I was getting a payout of about 250BC every 24 hours (53BC/Mhash) now? with the price jumps it's down to 18 as of last night.

Just because I had a feeling i bought another 500BC on own with some LTC. So far I'm winning.

Im in it for the long haul -- while I could cash out and get a cool 0.75BTC (when all I really put in was 0.2 and 3 days of mining) I want to see if this puppy explodes.

I cashed out too early with LTC and instead of getting $40,000 I took $400. (hindsight huh?)

Yeah, Blackcoin is amazing...I like their quote... We're going to the moon and we actually have the rocket (blackcoinpool) haha.

Been mining it since last week, currently holding 550. I'm just going to hold it long term at this point.

Make sure you set my pool (in signature) as failover to the multipool if you're mining BC. More nodes coming soon too. :)

I was lucky and got in during actual PoW stage, as well as mining on the multi pools now, so I've got about 8k. Crossing my fingers that this will turn into a downpayment on a new house.

Heck the way it's going it might pay for the new house :D

I'm curious, which exchange does Blackcoin to BTC conversion? I did read about it last week and I'm kicking myself for not switching all my rigs to Blackcoin.

My recommendation would be mintpal

Yep, easily has the most volume which is what you want. You can get price deviation to your favor on Cryptsy at times but you will have more difficulty getting fills there without the price moving on you.

Where do you guys go to get these new coins converted to bitcoins or how do you cash out? From the Exchanges I've looked at (i.e. btc-e, coinbase), they don't always support the latest coins. Thanks.

Cryptsy/Mintpal/Polonex (depending on where the volume and prices are). Exchange your alt to btc, cash out your btc to coinbase, coinbase to fiat.

I totally missed the whole BC explosion by not paying attention to anything mining related the past few days, dammit :/

Guess i'll mine some this week and hodl it.

So BC has started to hover and drift upward again.
I have a few hundred that I have scrypt mined holding at 60,000 for sale.
Thinking of aiming my SHA miners at it for a while to get a bigger pot.
Anyone have ideas as why this has headed back up or if you think it's about to surge again?

For the record, I actually moved off Blackcoinpool because I was noticing a number of disconnects on my miners. I figured that couldn't be good for my hash rate.... and it did reflect a bit in my earnings from there. I decided I'd try doing things myself... so I'm mining at Wafflepool and using the proceeds to buy my own Blackcoin. This way, I get to choose when to buy... it's not at whatever the price is at when some script runs to cash everyone out. I also have my choice of exchange since the price isn't always the same between exchanges. Besides, Wafflepool's profits are quite a bit higher than Blackcoinpool's so theoretically, that means I should be able to buy more BC myself.

I am also tempted to try Hashcows again... they have introduced the option to cash out in one of several coins, BC included. Their profits haven't been too shabby as of late either.

As for the surge in BC, I'm not sure what's causing it, but I'll tell you this much... the psychology of buying this time is changed. Because it managed to surge to 94000+ Satoshis last time, buying at 44000 or 45000 seems almost like a no brainer. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I was really liking blackcoinpool right before the jump in prices -- I was getting ~200-250 BC per day with only 6Mhash pointed at it.

Since the jump and whatever else has been going on at the pool it doesn't seem as smooth. Since the huge (relative) drop in LTC difficulty 45 minutes ago, I'll be mining LTC direct and just buying BC manually on cryptsy.

I was making bits of profit in day trading BC the past day or so, turned 1100BC into 1400BC then cashed out. Sadly I anticipated wrong and the damn value kept going up. I gotta wait for it to dump/drop to 35000 before I get back in, OR use my whopping 0.56BTC to buy in now or soon and hope it keeps it's upward trend?

To me BlackCoin is one of those things that just kinda happened really really fast, I don't know any places that use it, or see it having a long term future (relative to BTC or LTC) it just seems like ones of those fad coins that I might be able to make a few hundred dollars off of.

Gah -- watching it rise today is pissing me off.

Since the little bit I have to play with didn't cost me too much -- I took a gamble and bought back in with a sell order already placed for maybe some quick and dirty profit before a dump comes along.

well I was planning on switching all of my rigs to it today but with this kind of spike its probably not worth it. Chalk this one up to missing the boat again

There's always Whitecoin.... basically a Blackcoin clone but at affordable prices right now. It *MAY* react the same way when it stops mining in a couple days, but then again it also may not... I've noticed the market reacts quite differently to clones of other successful coins and complete posers.

just noticed this whitecoin thing -- anyone know how much longer it's mineable? Doubt I will be able to mine a bunch with 8Mhash pointed at it if it's in the final stages.

I still don't even know what blackcoin does that's special -- lol much less white coin.

It's almost like I might just buy 10,000 or so WC just on the random goof it blows up. If it craps out it would just be like a usual gambling loss anyway in my mind (75 dollars worth of bitcoin that only cost me 18 dollars in electricity to make)

On block ~6200 out of a total of 10,000 for WC currently, so there's still a bit of time.

I wouldn't get too caught up in WhiteCoin. I've read the dev has already dumped the premine and abandoned the coin. Now it's just a community that's filled with hopes and dreams that it's somehow going to live up the standards that BlackCoin is setting.

Source?

how does the sha256 mining work? does it mine BTC and exchange for BC?

I may do this as well though I'm still trying to reach my Blackcoin target first.

I know that it's been said that the devs dumped their premine and there's no future left for Whitecoin. Well, what has Blackcoin done lately aside from get pumped and dumped, and it still HAS its devs still? Do the devs have to actively do something with the coin for the value to go up? I'd say, the evidence points to no. 99% of these pump and dump coins have no use beyond being traded on an exchange regardless of whether their devs say they're actively doing something to develop them. Nothing ever comes of those efforts as far as I see anyway. This can currently be said of Blackcoin as well... yet it seems to be climbing in value.

Some of the public information

1) BC Multipool is giving away a $10,000 KNC Titan as promotion
2) Blackcoin cards are coming in May = new method of cold storage and transferring wallets?
3) CoinKite is coming in June (raised 25 BTC in a day to get on here) = BlackCoin opened up to real world use. Not like Tigerdirect or anything, but it's a start. You'd have to register at CoinKite to see what the potential of this really is.
4) Other stuff I am not allowed to talk about yet :p
5) Because its BlackCoin

The glory days of quick 1000% gains may be over on BC, but it's definitely not your typical P&D coin. The only other coin I like of recent is FLT. It brings something new to the table (proof of transaction). But it too went through a big P&D recently. And it will be up to their community to make it work in the long run as well. They've got the start, they just need to build on it. Otherwise it will end up like Mintcoin.

This is what will kill alt-coin mining, too many options, too many crappy ones, too many fly by night ones and so on.

the Alt-Coin community reminds me of the Linux community, everyone and their mother thinks they can come out with a better coin when most of them are re-hases of existing ones with 1 or 2 different options.

I am still mining away on Riecoin (http://riecoinfoundation.org/ ), at least it is giving something back to the mathematical community.

if %90 of these alt-coins would just die off and more people focus towards a few, the market would look a lot better for everyone.

I may have missed it, but are there any tuning help #s for GPUs mining X11?
I'm guessing the #s I used for Scrypt will not be optimal for X11.
Maybe I'm wrong ;)

i just google settings. they are quite different settings for x11

I honestly just use -I 18 with X11. Haven't noticed much of a gain from doing any other arguments.

Bumping -I to 20 on R9 290 and the 7950 did show 200KH/s improvement, but I'm mainly interested in Engine, Memory and TC. TC on X11 is a mystery to me for sure.
The config settings that come with the example Darkcoin config are basic at best.

Just FYI, anyone still following BlackCoin - I own http://www.cryptoalts.com, it's another pool that mines other coins and exchanges them for BC. Profit calculators are not yet working for multi-algo right now, but I'm going to work on those asap. Otherwise it seems like those mining on it have been happy with their payouts.

And x11 mining is supported on it. ;)

I'm on this with my X11 rigs. Any suggestions for failovers mining X11? I'm literally only pointed at you right now and will be switching more of my scrypt machines over possibly today after I do some tuning

I've used this one for Hiro fairly successfully and I believe they have the largest Hiro hash rate:
http://hiro.suchpool.pw/

But the web site is down for maintenance right now as last I checked.
They also have a Darkcoin pool if you are so inclined to use the same coin for a failover.

Can we run our own P2Pool nodes?

Just dropping this here in case anybody finds it useful.

These are my SGminer settings i run from a .bat with 2x reference 290x cards, i'm getting about 4.7 m/hash.

sgminer -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://drkpool.com:3333 -u x -p 1 -g 1 -I 20 -w 512 --thread-concurrency 27400

Core clock : 857 / Mem Clock: 1250

@blade52x, yes, please get the profit calcs working that would be very handy, i like your x11 pool.
