Wish it was in August right around the time I get 30 days of leave before I leave for Fort Campbell :(

I'll be there with 4 other people this year! Got a room booked and everything. Hopefully the servers can handle registration this year! :)

Missed it last year because I couldn't register before they sold out....

When did they start charging for the BYOC?? Only 250 seats?? That seems very low

that was for quakecon done quick... there are different packages. they started charging a few years ago after id software got bought out by zenimax.

Is this worth going to still? I have not yet been to one and might go to it this year.

Are there any games left that actually support lan play anymore? I thought a lot of games got away from local dedicated servers and are all "always online"

Yeah there are a few games out there that still support lan. The past few years AT&T has donated a good amount of bandwidth for the event so you can still get online and play. Last year they gave us all public ip addresses.

Yeah its pretty neat to see all the different panels, people, and events that happen at the con.
It can be a big pain in the ass too though if you bring a pc. I think going at least once every few years is worth it.

Did anybody get in last round? Or plan on trying to tomorrow? I wasn't really planning on trying tomorrow, but I might just see if I can get a seat.

I actually am trying to buy seats for 5 of my friends. If I get in, I will let ya know where we are sitting so people can try and sit in the same area...

i was able to get QDQ for the first time this year. several other of our gaming group members were able to get BYOC + swag pack tonight. sweet! looking forward to quakecon this year.

Thanks will be going this year, luckily having a nice gaming laptop makes it easier to do BYOC.

Apparently the site does not roll over Emails from last years registration.

Its not remembering my email and the only registration buttons are for press and exhibitors.

How do I reset my username and Email? Or do I do all that registration tonight by clicking the box I want to sit at and then fill out a form?

And of course its sold out, got stuck in the que. Anyone have an extra seat? I really wanted to go this year.

Well I was able to get the 4 for me and my buddies.

Sorry athlon, if one of my buddies backs out. I'll let ya know

There is another round April 16th, although its more expensive. There are 500 seats left for that one.

It is $120.00 but you get a shirt and some Quakecon 2014 Logitech Headphones. I'd say its worth it if you cant get a 50$ seat. Good luck! :)

It does not include a BYOC seat I believe.

Oh yeah, I just saw that, dang man. Well maybe you can get one through social media or their facebook site. From previous experience, some people drop their seats because they cant make it. Keep checking.

if i had a normal work schedule I'd probably go.

I went one time in like 2009, I brought my computer but missed actually getting a spot. Wound up hanging out for a few hours and then going home bummed.

I work thursday through sunday --- waking up at 330am each day, so even if there were seats I couldn't go.

Plus im an old fart by comparison -- (32) lol

Definitely want to go, but something always comes up every year preventing me from going since the last time in 2006

They aren't going to let Carmack give the address?

Seats are sold out? Seats are over 100 dollars? looks like I missed out on what Quakecon used to be. RIP quakecon and id. I was really excited to go but those prices are digusting and there is really no space now?

Seats were $50, but yeah, things have sadly changed. The organization previously was rather poor with having to wait for ages to get in and paying for spots did streamline things a bit, but now they're milking it for as much as they can. I'd still go if I could because in the end, all the people that were there made it a great event, but I moved out of Dallas and taking 3 long vacations annually just wasn't feasible. I certainly enjoyed the last 6 years that I attended.

Last i heard Carmack hadn't been invited. Doubt they will since he left id.

Did we guys want to setup a [H] meet for this? Really bummed no Carmack but still excited to go to this none less.
