Long on time, short on cash and love to game? There’s only one cure for that, and the answer would be Indy Games. Stuff TV has assembled a 20 game list just waiting for all of you low budget gamers to hit up on. :cool:
 
Limbo was one of the best games I ever played.
It delivered so much with so little.
Great atmosphere you could almost feel. A simple yet compelling story. Great play mechanics.
Elements that if a AAA full 3D captured it would be hailed as ground breaking.
All this an it was only a 2d side scroller in B&W.
 
Braid and Fez are not good, at all, and Gone Home isn't even a game even, just pretentious bullshit. In fact to me Gone Home can be seen as the video game medium's example of jumping the shark in terms of "Games trying too hard to be art" thing.

And Minecraft is not cheap in comparison to every game on that list, other than maybe Walking Dead, and even that's pushing it. (I think its $20)

I never found Braid to be that engaging, I tried to like it but couldn't really get into the gameplay and gave up after a few hours. However Trine (which isn't on the list) I found to be one of the better indie games I've played and the graphics are outstanding.
 
I have Fez, looked like a neat concept. But I got bored of it very quickly even at $4 I don't think I got my money out of it.
 
I've been looking for a list like this, unfortunately most of the games are mainstream already. How about a list of games that everyone one this board hasn't already heard of.
 
I did not finished braid but mainly because I almost never finish games these days but I thought it was great. Same with FEZ really really interesting concept and well executed but no time to finish games these days. But both I would say are excellent games.

i'll have a look at it if it's down to five bucks. even hideo kojima would be ashamed to release a game that consists pretty much of nothing for 18.99 euros.
 
Uhggg. Gone Home made me so fucking angry when I finished it. I was like "Wtf? That's seriously the fucking game? I walked around a Doom quality house for 20 minutes picking up teen angst notes, and then all of a sudden, closing credits?" One of the few games I wish I had pirated, and even then I'd have felt ripped off.

But you missed the greater message about the game about how much about "HOW WIMMEN ARE ALL OPPREZZED AND ARE SACEND CITIZENNNNZNNZ!!!"

+1 This. I have many a hours spent in KSP. I have been able to land my Kerbals on several moons and planets. Now I just need to get them back. :p

Space Engineers is also pretty good too.
 
Wish I could see the list from work. Anyways Gone Home > Titanfall easy. To each his own.

I didn't get that out of Gone Home at all. It just seemed like a love story within a dysfunctional family to me. As someone else said, to each their own.





Well, I enjoyed Braid too, so I guess I can't ride the same hate train the rest of you are. I did get bored with Fez though.
