I know this is a sad day for those of you hoping for an EA three-peat. The good news is that there are some truly deserving companies left in the running for the title of Worst Company In America.

Video game giant Electronic Arts stepped into the Worst Company In America nonagon of unpleasantness this morning crowned with two Golden Poos and with the confidence that the tournament’s only two-time winner deserves. But in the end, it wasn’t EA that was carried out of the arena in victory — it was Time Warner Cable.

I'm sure EA gave it their worst... but sad fact is more companies are lowering the bar... cause they can.

:(

The only thing that saved EA is the stupid Billiard-Room format they are running this competition under.

I was thinking the only thing that saved EA was mandating every EA employee to use the TOR client and spoof votes for TWC. :) If I was a company CEO, that's what I would do.

Some of their choices this year seem really weird ... I am not sure what drives their choices ... maybe I am luckier than most but some of these companies haven't given me any issues ... I have an ATT phone (personal) and Verizon phone (work) ... Verizon Fios (ISP) but I had TWC prior to the switch (switched for speed not any issues) ... I fly American all the time and have had no issues ... did they post the criteria they used to select each company (I mean Seaworld ... what up with that)

Looking at this survey it seems to focus on customer service more than it does corporate activity.

There are companies that make EA and Time Warner look like a sweet old granny.

Exactly ... no energy or oil companies made the list or defense contractors ... those guys make EA look like Dr. Evil ;)

ATT, Verizon, Comcast want to destroy net neutrality to get paid twice for Netflix. They could set up OpenConnect or some other caching to reduce bandwidth and add SuperHD for their customers, but since they compete in another division they wont. Using their owner ship or networks and monopoly of cable and internet to slow down progress.

Comcast is buying TWC cable to stop the tiny competition they had and give them more power to influence the battle above. These companies definitely deserve to be on this list.

EA deserves to be on this list because they are buying up companies and forcing their nickle and dimeing onto games. They are destroying the games industry and that is why they won 2 years in a row.

ea might have won it again if the results would have been determined after they delayed the latest bf4 dlc, naval strike, indefinitely.

Trying to gain power over the internet so they can throttle and charge competing services seems pretty evil to me. They don't like what CNN is saying about them, they don't accept their channel anymore and lose millions of views. They throttle their stream for the internet and now no one can see videos through there either. There is way way too much power in some of these companies, especially Comcast. These companies also are lobbying to prevent towns from making their own internet services because they don't want to be stuck with the Comcast/TWC/etc. I personally don't care if seagulls die from oil spills. I would personally strangle every seagull on this planet to prevent the amount of power Comcast is trying to amass for itself.

EA also just said they can't come up with original ideas (which we already knew, 'Madden') so they pay companies for exclusives to make money off of rehashing what they already know. For instance, they just announced they will make Star Wars games by modeling them after the Batman Arkham series. Okay, I never played the Arkham series but the fact that they brain fart at making a Star Wars title and have to model it after something they have already done is pretty darn lazy and definitely all about profit and not the consumer. They will find a way back to the top, it is the fate of EA, they worked hard for a 3 peat, they will be back, I promise.

EA was a shit company...but the sad fact is there are MUCH, MUCH, worse.

Koch Industries, The OCP (Robocop) of our era, sung its vast wealth to underminde US democracy and government into a business.

Bank of America - A company who speciality is Fraud. Crimes include intentionally misleading its own customers into foreclsure of their house

American Airlines. Sums up everything wrong about the airline industry.

Comcast/Time Warner - Have been quite honest about their desire to monopolise the Internet and make people pay for something that was designed from the start to be free. Posterboys of corporate greed.

SeaWorld - Whole exsistence is an embarrassement to mankind as a species.

I still don't understand what the issue with AA is ... they have served me very well through the years as a consumer (maybe I have just been lucky) ... is the issue that they are not Southwest or Spirit ... what is it that makes them fundamentally worse than Delta or United (the other two original airlines left)

Why is Seaworld worse than a zoo ... have I missed some news stories of their gross malfeasance or something

I expect it the finals to be Comcast / Time Warner with the final vote being a near tie.

TWC was so bad that I switched my residential service to business class to get anything fixed. My service was just incredibly unreliable with the internet always dropping out. The minute I switched to business class at 3x the price, all my problems stopped.

Yeah I mean, by them delaying the DLC, it just forced people to do horrifying things like go outside, exercise, or spend time with the family.

Sea World is likely on the list due to the "BlackFish" documentary movie.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/24/living/parents-blackfish-kids-seaworld-zoos/

Ok ... I can see that ... although I think people should be careful about getting too anti-zoo as for some species that may be the only way they'll survive humanity driving them into extinction ... that said we should make sure that the animals we keep in captivity are well treated and have suitable habitats (and that they don't present a danger to their keepers or trainers)

What was the deal with American (or is it just anti-merger sentiment driving that one)?

I think CNN is more of an embarrassment to humanity than SeaWorld...

But none of those are worse than Monsanto, who is trying to privatize the world's food supply while damaging the world's entire ecosystem at the same time.

Yep Monsanto, by far. I don't think they qualify for lists like this because they are a MEGACORPORATION that owns the other terrible companies you read about.
