Samsung UD590 now on Newegg - $869

I got contacted by FedEx commercial invoice and FCC form for US Customs. I don't really understand the form.

I guess: 2. An FCC grant of equipment, authorization and and FCC ID are not required but the equipment complies with FCC technical requirements.

will be the one I check off.

No Wag you wanna check off #7. Its less than three items an its for personal use. I got the fedex call too. BR2008 said he got the same thing when he bought so he contactes top trading and top t said it was already taken care of.

I did both, filled out the form the best i could and contacted top t

Got it. What did you put for Manufacturer's address?

Nevermind, I just put their long Korean address in and free-faxed over the form. Hopefully that will be adequate.

Uggg FedEx is being a real pain in the ass...they just rejected my FCC 740 because I didn't put Manufactures name and address!?! BUT WHO WAS MANUFACTURER NAME AND ADDRESS FROM A SECOND HAND EBAY MONITOR PURCHASE, BUT WHO WAS PHONE FEDEX????

Gaaahhhh Fedex its a friggin Ebay purchase for Godsakes....I mean really..... Plus, I have already asked them to double check with their Korean counterparts because the seller claims to have already provided the completed 740 FCC form on his end. What a pain in the ass. Seriously. FedEx all your base belong to us

I probably won't get mine until Thurs anyways because I'm busy all day Wed. I might go down to the Fedex depot if I miss it and feel like picking it up on Wed.

Monitor is now in Anchorage! Come to daddy!

Same.:D

Hey, is Titanfall Deluxe Ed worth $50? I need to have a fast game to test on this thing. (I'll probably buy Titanfall eventually, but I wasn't planning on spending that much for it).

Dunno, don't have it...it looked to CODish for my tastes. I'm an old head who still plays HaloCE lol....but I'll give BF4 a go with it too and see how it handles FPS.

Ya, you should probably just put your order in now as its a 10 day process, so you can shave 2 days of anxiety off your wait once we report our findings lol.

Great review here.... http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/5269/samsung-lu28d590d-review-4k-becomes-affordable . They have strong marks for color accuracy and viewing.... I'm seriously considering going for this, now, plus gtx 880 as soon as that's out (seems silly to go 780sli so close in now...).

However, the LU28D590D costs about half of what the Dell UP2414Q costs, barely more than most WQHD monitors currently available. You get a significantly larger amount of pixels and a resolution which easily scales back to Full HD for games, if your video card isn't powerful enough for UHD. In addition, the utilized TN panel is many times better than the samples we generally find in the sub € 200 segment. Brightness, uniformity, and viewing angles are excellent, and the colour temperature and colour fidelity also are much better than what we've seen in TN panels previously. We may not recommend this as a first choice for semi-professional video editing, but you can definitely use this panel for your everyday image editing needs. The LU28D590D's power consumption is a fraction of what the previously tested 4K competition consumes, and the response times are extremely low, especially with overdrive enabled, making this an interesting option for gamers. In addition, Samsung has provided the LU28D590D with a scaler that can display 60 Hz the the monitor's native UHD resolution.

Price again killing this for me, near $1000 for a monitor seems like so much :(

This is a 60Hz/UHD monitor. The price is good for that. They'll come down in price, you'll just have to wait a while.

As Wag said, the price for UHD + 60 Hz monitors will come down. If you make money from your pro design, you might be able to write it off on your taxes. :D

You either pay to play or wait and save!

How much GPU horsepower are you guys running? I'm really interested in this monitor for dota2. Wider FOV ftw! Plus I'm thinking I might be able to get away with keeping one 780.

I have 3 Titans.

I'm running 7970 Crossfire, and I'll be using it for 95% Dota 2. The main reason why I went from 120hz to 4k is because 4k will benefit Dota 2 more than 120hz will.

One Titan & one 290x. I hate multi-gpu setups, but will most likely try crossfire as Im gettin another 290x for mining anyway

My previous setup was tri-crossfire. The thing I didn't like about it was ATI's lacking driver support for it. Nvidia seems a bit more on the ball as far as multi-GPU support goes in games.

This is a sweet monitor for 699, only thing is I prefer glossy.

seems like the lenovo version will be glossy but also 799.

I thought I read semi-glossy, whatever that means. Glossy is definitely better though.

ITS HERE!!!!!

No US plug included, the one you need for the power plug has two circles, not the flat edge that I posted in a pic earlier. I hooked up the DisplayPort, then hooked up the power, booted my PC and the screen was blinking like mad. I rebooted PC and it works perfectly, booted up natively into 4k 60hz on my R9 290x!

I have to get used to this....its tiny compared to the Seiki 39" but I can't see pixels....however, I now need a microscope to read the screen lol

Will give more feedback as I go....does anybody speak korean, this OSD is in korean...ohhh lawd how do I switch the OSD to INGRISSSH

And please try a game or two on it. Download war thunder (free to play) and test a few matches of that for me, would ya :)

THIS DISPLAY IS A PICKY WENCH! IT DOES NOT LIKE ANY OF MY 6'-10' Display Port Cables!!! I had to use the included 3' DP cable which is very annoying, otherwise it goes into blinking fits

IF YOU GET THIS FROM EBAY, THE OSD IS IN KOREAN! HERE IS A GUIDE THAT I MADE TO GET YOU BACK TO IIIINNNNNGRRRISSSHHH :D
