QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution ll 27" 1440p $289 on Ebay Free Shipping

Not to get too far off topic but anyone recommend a better stand for this monitor?

I have to order a dual link DVI cable from monoprice and I was looking at this one.

Or would somethign like this work well enough?

One guy specifically states the one in my link below works on his Korean monitor.

Ordered the matte X-Star for $279 in this thread on the 7th. Looks like FedDex finally "received information" on the shipment on the 12th. I sent dream-seller a message. I hope I am still getting it.

Is there a huge difference between X-star and QX2710? Both are matte models. I was able to negotiate the seller down to $320 for a QX2710.

Man I need one of these, I have the qx2700, love it, haven't tried to oc, don't wanna kill it. NEED 120 FPS!!

I placed an order for one on the 10th and while Ebay says its been shipped the Fedex website keeps saying it can't find the tracking number. So I guess we'll just have to see...

You can't break a monitor by overclocking it. People have been using overclocked monitors for years (Dell 2209WA) without issue. The DP2710 & QX2710 need to be overclocked to achieve >60hz. You should try overclocking your QX2700.

Own a console? If so, mind using a dvi-hdmi cable, setting your console to 1280x720 then connect the QX2700? I want a delay free 1440p monitor which I can use for PC & console gaming. The multi-input models have at least a frame of input lag.

My order just shipped out today, says it will be delivered next Wednesday. I ordered on the 7th at like 2:39am. Yes I was drinking and it sounded like an awesome idea at the time. Hopefully it turns into a good drunk purchase :)

I was disappointed with my most recent drunk upgrade (HD6850 to GTX 780 Ti). Was expecting better than 10-20 fps boost in Rift and the ability to run FC3 to the utter max @ 1920x1080 without lag. I do not recommend buying stuff while intoxicated!

Could be worse... I used to get wasted and INSTALL stuff.. Worst idea ever.. Especially when something gets stubborn...

EDIT:

FYI.. I tried to place a large order (50+) of these monitors.. and they all told me they don't have enough stock to be able to do so.. So, keep that in mind.. She told me they would "get disappeared" soon.. which means that they are either phasing them out, or the stock is running out.

50+ save some for the rest of us! I need to buy one to test before I will buy a second one.

You don't think there's a possible connection between dead/stuck pixels on the 3 Vizio TVs I was overclocking to 120Hz over HDMI? The 32" looked really nice to be honest, it was before I learned about Lightboost but I remember being impressed until they all started dropping pixels like flies. One of them after I took it back to Best Buy, they plugged it in and the 5-10 white pixels I had noticed appear overnight were gone I swear.

For reference my link above to high quality DVI-D cables was independent of the discussion about if there is a DVI-D included with this monitor or not. I do not own this monitor and have not purchased one. I considered it and rejected it for 3x surround for various obvious reasons. I was simply trying to help by pinpointing a very good DVI-D cable I found this week. I've bought several and this one is the best quality for price by far.

Ah ok gotcha thx :)

Sorry for some reason I've been paranoid with this purchase. I think I'll be very happy with it, but I usually don't buy things overseas.

I've only ever purchased one thing overseas and my experience was not positive. Being a foolish junior in high school, I decided to pre-order Half-Life 2 from somewhere over in Asia. I forget whether it was to save a few bucks or because the seller had it for sale first, but needless to say it arrived way late and in such a pathetic battered manila shipping envelope that I cracked up when I first saw it after being forced to go down to the USPS office to pick it up (don't know why they didn't just finish mailing it to me).

My XStar finally shipped. Same day I finally sent him a message about it if it makes a difference. From this thread they are the same. For whatever reason it looked like the XStar is sometimes $10 cheaper. I managed to pay only $279, but they have since raised the price. Part of the reason I was worried it might eventually get cancelled on me.... in favor of filling the orders for +$40.

So Im stuck deciding which to buy....help! /firstworldproblems

xStar/Qnix Matte or Glossy 2560x1440 60hz/96hz and if lucky 120hz $320-$340 (is matte or glossy the preferred for gaming?)

Or

BenQ Gaming XL2720T Black 27" 1920x1080 120hz (on sale atm for $400)

Or

ASUS VG248QE Black 24" 144Hz 1920x1080 - $282 (not really thinking of this as a choice as I'd like to go with a 27")

For gaming only I would wait till the new asus 120htz 1440p with lightboost comes out later this month. Going to be pricey for a TN panel though. My problem is that although I have a gaming PC, I find myself doing other things on it more often than gaming, for which the cheaper monitor will be superior. I don't think I wold be happy with TN panel choice although I may end up getting one of each type later.

Qnix/X-Star vs. 120hz+ TN

You want the XL2720Z with blur reduction, not the XL2720T http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_xl2720z.htm

and the only reason one should buy the VG248QE is if they want G-Sync which does not work with AMD gpu's.

1440p IPS vs. 120hz+ TN=personal preference, only you can decide.

Actually I have updated to a i7 3930k and switch gpu's to an asus 280x

Stick to 1080p @60hz then or get a Dell U2414 and overclock it to 80hz. No point getting a 1440p monitor if you want to game with high settings and get high fps.

I've got 3 Asus 144Hz and while they are great for gaming the colors are literally rubbish in comparison to my Dells. I would say that those Korean monitors are the best of both worlds.

See the trick is to purchase one kind of monitor, and blisfully ignore better colors/backlight/greyscale ;)

Mine had a ship date of Wednesday but it is already in my city! I expect them to be delivered to me Monday. :)

Hihi. The trick is too to find one great woman, ignore blissfully all other females and be able to purchase as many monitors as you please.;):D

Nevertheless, IPS monitors look great.:)

I can live with turning down settings if needed on the 1440p to get higher fps...but I also may uprgade my gpu to a 290/290x or 780/780ti in the future to remedy that. I appreciate the feedback.

Um, considering the z series blur reduction is totally broken and up in the air on firmware issues, I would not be recommending this monitor without an asterisk. The XL2720T is Lightboost compatible and doesn't have any problems with the strobing from the ToastyX application.

After searching around apparently Benq is releasing new firmware. Id rather not have to mess around with that, so I may go with the XL2720T or the Qnix 1440p. Im not sure just yet, but would like to order soon in the coming week.

Idk, maybe I get the Benq while its on sale, or grab the newer BenQ and upgrade the firmware myself then grab a Qnix 1440p later. I noticed there is a new model Qnix out thats 10bit or something, but being so new I havent heard whether they overlock well or not. I've got some thinking to do.

Thank you to everyone who replied.

I just want to be clear, the Benq z-series firmware requires a piece of hardware to update or it needs to go back to Benq... I'm jumping on this issue with the 24" to see what's actually in the supply line, see how bad the artifacts in strobe mode are and shine some light on the issue if they're trying to ignore it. As far as I know, there's nowhere in the US for NA buyers to send their rev1 firmware monitors for updating.

I just received an email from Dream-Seller informing me that 'Due to so many orders they've gotten behind doing quality checks" more or less and thus won't be able to ship mine until this Thursday. They also made the offer of a refund if that was unacceptable but I'm willing to wait. Especially considering the price hike the X-Stars recently had just after I put my order in.

I ordered one on Friday from storewithstory, tracking says its in Ohio now and has been released by customs.

Not bad. The only reason I went with Dream-Seller is they were the cheapest of the 'sorta reliable' options I could find by about 20-30 bucks. Though maybe had I picked someone else I wouldn't have to wait until sometime next week but oh well live and learn. :D

I used the best offer option, started at $320, they countered, I went to $325, they accepted.
