Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I found a Bovine Bardiche that seems fairly humorous. A chance on hit to summon a herd of murderous cows.

I did have an issue with a wizard character that before the patch was lvl 60, paragon 45. Now picking up some wizard items I find they are locked. Apparently after the update, this character isn't lvl 60 enough yet. Even at lvl 60 P91.

I have the same problem. Seems to apply to wizard hats and offhands.

I'm sure it's a bug they will fix.

Did they change drop rates silently? 2 days ago I was getting tons of drops, now not so much.

It seems to depend heavily on the area, your level in relation to the area, etc. When I was running around with my friend trying to get him up to my level (14 or so), I was getting shit drops while he was getting rares and stuff. Once we got up to the same level and went on in the story, I started getting a lot more rares.

What is with the difficulties? I used to be able to do MP1 or 2 Act 1 and 2 with my monk decently, now I get raped in Master and Expert. Meh.

If it's any consolation, there doesn't seem to be a difference between the legendaries you find on Normal and those you find on Master or Torment, since the enemies scale with your level. I think it'll make a difference for lvl 70 stuff in the expansion, but otherwise it's more about quantity (exp and mf %) more than it is about quality of the items dropping.

Okay thanks, but I entered the game key when I installed the game. I better get a hold of support.

I contacted Blizzard and in my absence my account was hacked. I was told the hacker was banned months ago. Blizzard fixed it so I could logon to my old account. Hacker's character, a lvl 60 Monk named Monkey, was still there. He has over one hundred million gold and his stash is full of hundreds of perfect gems and stacks of hundreds of rare crafting material. He also has a few pieces of rare, legendary and set armors. I deleted Monkey but all his gold and items are still around.

When I started a new character he had all that gold, which seems kind of dumb. And my stash chest has all the hackers stuff in it as well. I have other characters the hacker never deleted. He just created Monkey and left all my characters alone. I wouldn't mind deleting all my characters if it would get rid of all the hacked gold to my credit and items in the stash chest. But my son thinks even if I were to delete every character all the gold and items in the stash chest would remain.

Is there a quick way to clean up this game? I could get back to Blizzard and have them clean it up, but that is time consuming and kind of a hassle. Drag and drop all that gold and all those items on the ground?

You can't "delete" gold anymore. If you want to start with a clean slate best you can do is contact Blizzard and have the game key moved to a brand new account, or see if they can wipe it.

Why is this game so ridiculously easy on normal? I am literally one-hit killing practically anything I encounter as a level 30-ish monk.

Buy items on the AH, and delete the character. No more gold.

I think he wants to get rid of it completely though, not just hand it over to someone else.

Gold is not hard to come by. You guys don't want this stuff, it only ruins the game. If you can buy everything you want or need at the AH right off the bat what's the point of playing through the levels killing stuff for loot? Hacking is a dumb way to equip your character.

I believe you can up the difficulty level at any time. I saw an options screen for that somewhere. Normal is for real green players, it even says as much in the description.

You can up it from Normal to Hard, but anything other than that you have to exit to the menu and load back in. You can LOWER it at any point in game though. Dunno why it works that way.

Easy. Start a game, drop all the contents of your stash into the game, exit game.

Regarding gold, you can just make marquise gems for which cost 60 million+ after combines. Then drop those in a game you make and exit the game.

EDIT: Better and quicker way to get rid of your items. Start a new character. Offload all the gear from the stash on the new character. It's quick. Open stash and right click on each thing you want to get rid of. It will transfer to the character inventory screen. Then exit and delete the character. Keep making new characters and doing this until your items are gone.

You still have to make gems though if you want to get rid of the gold. No other way.

Actually... there's another way to get rid of gold. In Act 2, there's an NPC that sells Blacksmith plans for 1.5m gold each, and you can buy as many as you like.

Kick it up to Hard and/or play with someone else. Makes the mobs a lot tougher and you get better loot, too.

I found an even better way. He should go on AH, do a search for something and set the max price for whatever he wants to get rid of. Sort by price. Buy the thing that is closest to his gold amount on buyout. Then he can get rid of the item by making a game and exiting. The rest he can spend on plans.

Read my previous post about why I didn't suggest the most obvious solution.

Crafting should deplete your gold supply really fast when you hit level 70.

The new loot patch has brought new life to the game for me. I'm lvling a wizard and have found a dozen usable legendary items.

Btw, I have a decked out barb but I'm totally digging the wizard. Might be a new fav

This. Crafting/Mystic costs where pretty damn steep in the RoS beta. Hang on to your gold. I blew through 25 mil in the week I was in the beta.

So what's the expectation for gearing a character - the majority of the gear is going to be legendaries? I haven't really read a whole lot into the changes. Thinking about getting back into it, but I might as well wait for reaper of souls at this point?

It'll be a mix of legendaries, set items and crafted gear. Crafting is really good now too, it follows the loot 2.0 system and gives appropriate stats on items as if they had dropped for you.

I've been playing the shit out of this new patch. Witch Doctor is pretty fun now, I've had up to 13 sycophants running around with me (hard to count!), feels like an old D2 necro with a shitton of pets when you add in dogs and gargantuan.

As for gear, the funnest thing I've found is a bracer that has the effect 'when you use a shrine a champion pack spawns'. 100% chance. It helps that the bracer is also basically an updated Lacunis with move speed/crit/etc.

Lucky, I think I found around 10 legendaries since the patch and played for a good amount of times :(

In all those legendaries, only 1 was an upgrade. My old bracers that were crap anyways so any new crafting would have been an upgrade :D

What Torment are you playing on? Maybe my gear is good enough that upgrades are rare. I'm playing Torment 3 solo with ease.... (a little bit trickier playing with my friend's DH)

Right now the Skeleton King is dropping a guaranteed legendary for first-time kills. I was able to take my 60s (one of each class) through on Torment1 and each got a legendary.

To continue getting the 'first kill' legendary, you have to reset all your quests and re-do it. Then play all through A1-A4, beat the story, then reset again. If you are going to do this anyway it basically gives you an extra free legendary every play of the story.

Can someone explain to me how crafting works? It seems like leveling up the blacksmith adds more items that you can use at higher levels, but are current items stuck at their current damage/armor levels, or do they upgrade as you level yourself/the blacksmith, or what? I haven't quite figured out the pattern yet, and I am not sure if it changed significantly with Loot 2.0 (I didn't really play before that).

I am really digging the game so far. It is much better when played with someone else though, in my experience. Loot drops are great and (for now) you can go on the gold AH and buy really cheap upgrades, as well as selling blue-level crafting materials for a ton of gold. I am a level 24 DH and I think I am at like 500k gold already on the AH just selling rares and blue crafting stuff from breakdowns. I guess after the AH goes away that will be gone, but it's still fun to mess with right now.

I haven't found a ton of legendaries yet (I think 3 or 4?), but so far the ones I have found have been pretty significant upgrades to what I had before, so that is good. I think two of the legendaries I found were for other classes or crafting plans for weapons for other classes.

and doing it in normal gives you the same quality of drops. With a demon hunter I bust it out in like an hour and a half and about 2 hours with a monk.

Pretty fun too.

Ok I was wondering what you'll were talking. So I need to reset the story to get the legendary. I killed him yesterday and got a bunch of rares. :)

You can craft some very good stuff now, i tryied Bracers for my barb got like one pair with 300str 200 vita, 5,5% crit chance, 50 all res and 4% ranged dam reduce.. pretty good and they are account bound tho.

Yeah...doesn't really answer my question but thanks for the reply. :)

Also, I am not a huge fan of RoS-only items dropping in the game thus far, because if you don't buy the expansion they are basically worthless.

Can't help on the crafting, although I do have both maxed, I just don't see anything in the recipe book that would be better yet. Maybe I'm not looking at the right stuff or maybe I am missing some crafting recipes.

I do however like my amulet that blocks all arcane damage and returns 21% of the blocked damage as a heal. Makes me immune to the those damn arcane lassser beams.

The Archon recipes are better than any drops you will get. I think the merchant in a2 sells them.

Is crafting better because the gems drop more, or was something actually changed to make crafting not worthless?
