Showing OOS online, so this may take some calling around and some footwork. I was in 3 stores this past week they had tons of these in overstock. Just make sure to print the product page out before you go in-store to avoid any hassle.
I picked up mine for full MSRP and got refunded the $100 difference an hour ago.

How would this compare to the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 from staples the other day for $136?

They're nearly the same in performance. Nighthawk has better USB3.0 performance and has a newer Broadcom prcoessor. Just about enough difference to account for the $17, too bad both deals are over though.
