Let's Get BIG - CaseLabs Cases

I do not believe anyone has had anything but good things to say regarding CaseLabs cases, assuming cost is no issue. And the TX10 is no exception.

So if you are comfortable spending the cash, I say go for it!

Dude do you buy the rails / bays for your drives? Would love to fit some tooless drive bays in there....
 
Yeah, I would just work with them directly. They seem pretty accommodating.

Their entire business is, after all, about customization and being highly configurable.
 
That's actually the ugliest waste of space I have ever seen. I would much rather one of their smaller custom cases.
 
Made the switch to CaseLabs recently myself :D I can vouch that even though they can get super expensive, especially when you start adding the accessories(extended tops/pedestals/rad mounts/casters/ect.), they are top notch quality. Their customer service department is also excellent for any questions you may have. Regarding your drive mounting question, as WorldExclusive pointed out there are a lot of options available. The cases come with "standard" mounts of sorts that attach to your drives, then they attach directly to the case by fitting over small tabs for alignment while thumbscrews attach the mounts to the case.

I really agree with you and the guys.... however the big thing for me was having all the cables, drive bays etc.. built in. I really love the space CaseLabs offers, however, if it wasn't for one particular case..I would have bought one.

I went with the Corsair 900D case... just unbelievable. Has plenty of space for an E-ATX case and plenty of rads... its huge...and totally in the realm of CaseLabs cases... and offers all the bays and wiring to make it easy to get started... and I mean I really dropped some serious cash today....this system is going to be most excellent.

Unfortunately, the only weakness of CL cases are the number of options their cases have that doesn't come standard, which causes people who just want a case to buy something like a 900D that comes with industry standard features.

But CL cases are for the person who has a PC that changes.
With cheaper cases, when your build changes, some times your case needs to change or you'll have to sacrifice certain features/needs to keep your current case.
Like the OP, it came down to buying a new case, whereas with a CL case you can just add an option to the current case to enable that functionally.

Absolutely spot on man. I really really wanted to purchase a CL case. They are expensive but that was not a factor. And I'll tell you for a case the 900D is no cheap case either. Your exactly right, I was struggling with those slide out bays for my SSD's and SATA drives. I could not find any accessories from CL that I could buy for my drives. Also, it didn't seam like there was even case cabling that you could use to hook into your mobo like even the power switch lol. The drive bays that I did see from some guys on YouTube were the kind you have to screw into your device then attach to the case and I did not want that. So cool with the 900D you can affix your SSD to the drive bay then slide it in so it clicks. Can hold up to like 15 drives if you want. I was very impressed with the space that the 900D offers. Was definitely as big as some CL cases which is what truly did it for me. Other than that I would have even bought the TX10 if it was rigged right :cool:
 
Awesome to hear. The 900D is comparable to the SMH10 and SMA8 cases.

The only thing the slides out on CL sides are the motherboard trays. Everything else is fixed by screws.
The reason is because many of the parts are multipurpose. Corsair has dedicated parts for stuff, HDD Cage, 5.25 bays, fan placement etc.

In CL cases, all of that can change not only in use but also in placement in the case, so it impossible from them to offer tool-less or sleds for HDDs.
The same 5.25 mounts can hold a hotswap HDDs, fan controllers, bay pump/res, fans, radiator mounts, even a PSU with the vertical bar can be mounted towards the front of the case.
Pretty much anything not mounted to the motherboard can go in a 5.25 bay.

As for the TX10, that's something else altogether. If you have a use for that, it comes down to how much money in return that build will make. Mining, server, rendering etc.
