OK so first the Christmas "rush" from everyone buying PS4s, causing problems with Sony's PSN network. Now they get hacked.

Nice network security controls there Sony. But they seem to have no problem taking my money for the PSN+ subscription.

Since I got the PS4 for Christmas, I have never been able to access PSN store to my fee games. Playing CoD Ghosts online has been problematic too.

Then my PS4 wouldn't even play blu-ray movies, it kept freezing. Until I went into Settings, and Video Playback settings and disable Automatic 24ghz, and disable Internet access.

Not a happy PS4 owner right now.

Just when I thought it was safe to input payment again after months of using pre-paid cards

Where do you see that anything was compromised?

They were only DDOS'd from what I see

Had mine since launch, no probs. Only noticed that at my parent's house on Christmas day on their PS3 that I couldn't setup a new account for my dad on PSN due to maintenance. When I got home later that evening, my ps3/ps4 was fine on PSN. Blame DDOS now.

So a non issue. I've had zero problems with my launch day PS4. And ghosts has ran just fine

I know there was problems with the store it was unavailable.

How about you guys STFU already, geeeezus christ man.

I'm a Network Engineer, so yes I know what a denial of service attack is, compared to hacking into system accounts. I was generalizing with the phrase I used.

Still an attack like this is created by hackers, albeit the network type, not system type.

I would be scared for whatever company you work for. Very scared.

You're on a computer enthusiast forum...just use the correct terminology (assuming you actually know it, that is).

lol so you admit to misrepresenting the facts just to get people to tune it. lol what are you CBS news?  :p

Heh reminds me of politicians... so what I meant to say was that this is actually this thing which is similar to the thing that is actually the truth so in essence I wasn't wrong, but nor am I right...

This is a forum of PC enthusiasts gaming freaks some of whom have been in the PC industry for 15+ years. Mistakes will be magnified.

I have had no problems with PSN since getting my PS4 at Xmas either.

Maybe the OP should try turning it off and on again. (IT Crowd) :D

Yes a noob mistake was made here by the OP, but be gentle no need to be too harsh on him. :)

In computing, a denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a machine or network resource unavailable to its intended users.

Hack (computer security) to break into computers and computer networks.

Difference c...k, Mr.OP?

No I don't know what the difference is, because I'm a dumbass, and I have no clue what I'm talking about.

Just let it go people, let it go.
