^ you know what? ALL of those look like crap compared to what my desktop can game at so by your idiotic comments, I should just get a PC and call it a day....
Of course it will. The Wii U will be a success for nintendo but not the one they wanted. PS4 will be close to PS2. I can tell you this right now, I bought a second Xbox one as a gift. But all my friends seem to have converted to PS4s lol, and the person I wanted to give it as a gift to wants a PS4, I had to return the Xbox One. NO one not a single person I know has a WiiU. But thats just a small sample, but Nintendo will still sell Mario games in the tens of millions. 3DS is still a success so even if the WiiU fails they will still float by.

and the best part is the people complaining about the Wii U being 720p only, well it turns out that the XBOne is going to be that way too lol...
So true. I thought that 1080P natively would be possible on all consoles. Looks like Xbox One will be 900P and PS4 will be 1080P medium settings lol.

Well 1080p IS possible on all consoles but at reduced quality. Personally I am pleased with Nintendo's decision to run SMW3D at 720 60fps vs perhaps 1080p 30 fps. The game play is butter smooth in all aspects...
I hope zelda will be 1080P at 30fps. I dont think Zelda needs 60fps, but I do hope it looks amazing. Then maybe I will get a WiiU or when a Fire emblem comes out for WiiU. Those are about the only games I will buy a nintendo console for.

220k is horrible for November. It's done.
I loved Mario 2,3, World,SMG but these 2D marios on Wii and WIi U and this 3DW proves no soul or heart left in ninty. It's depressing to witness these once innovative games become so boring 
You can put SM3DW in 4k for all I care it is still a recycled game.
It never grew up, and why should it? People buy it in the millions. It's just a game like monopoly or yahtzee at heart...boring entertainment for the braincell limited youth of insert country here. They always try to slap a new coat on Monopoly, like Monopoly Simpsons edition or that, and have consumers eat it up, same with mario games. Nintendo slaps on an upscaled coat of paint from SMG1/2. Next throws in a different controller, Then reuses NES SM2 characters, reuses character models from SMG. Nintendo = Great Minds. Well 25 years ago they were nothing but just that, now I think people are getting tired of old Ninty, and finally seeing through them and realizing they're obsolete.
Oh well they're a corporation and as such just want their money, so everyone get on board, or not.
Maybe I'm being to harsh on it, it's just a game right? Yeah I think that's the point it's no longer an Avant-garde game it's now just another generic platforming game. Hope I didn't make anyone cry or that kind of thing just my honest opinion on this Wii U platform. Ninty is losing touch with everything it used to want to be, the best. We're watching a slow death, and I don't like it either.

I don't know. Nintendo just seems to have some sort of magic that people find appealing. IMO they are the only real consoles around. The others are just wanna-be, half assed, obsolete PC's.
Picked up ZombiU for 15$ new...
I want that game. Tried the demo the other night. Was great. Actually scary too. Not easy either.
Tried the demo for Trine 2 also and it looked beautiful.

A number of sites are reporting that sales of the Wii U rose 340% in the USA for the month of November.
Also, what I failed to read in this thread (or perhaps got buried in the Wii U flame bait) was that a fair amount of articles came out suggesting that (at least for this holiday season) the Wii U was the most attractive console compared to the PS4 and XBone. Reasons are cheaper cost, more variety of games and backwards compatibility.
Again (and what has been repeated many times) the Wii U is far from being done.

The WiiU is done by any rational measure.
220k in the US during Xmas shopping season is abysmal. The leadership at Nintendo is mismanging the company into the ground, and yes, while they have sizeable cash reserves, this console fails to provide anything the market desires.
The proof is in the sales numbers. An absolutely terrible showing in the US during November, and negative shipments in the EU over the past few months.
Nintendo continues to believe that releasing their IPs will make the system more attractive, when the hardware is completely outclassed by anything releasing this year, and is on Par with last gen consoles.
Notice, I didn't say Nintendo is done, but they need to either massively cut the price (which i'm not sure will help immensely) or come up with another strategy, because it's pretty apparent that course they are on now isn't making any headway.
Their 3DS numbers were pretty piss poor as well considering the rich library and massive price cuts (2DS, etc). Nintendo is quickly becoming irrelevant in the West.
Yet you fail to mention that the PS4 and XBone both launched in the month of November - most likely affecting sales of Wii U hardware. Despite that, sales still rose 340%! As more people purchase the console, even more people get exposed to it (with the result being a sales increase).
Again, that's personal opinion and ignoring any sort of sales figures that demonstrate that the hardware sold more per-week compared to September and October.

xbox 1 and ps4 launched in november and both sold over a 1 million units. the Wii sold awful in november, and the fact it was a 340% increase is not a good thing, you sell 3x times more and it's still abyssmal is not something to be proud of.
when the ps3 and xbox launched, neither of those slowed Wii sales. The Wii is irrelevent as anything more than an afterthought, a machine that exists solely for diehards to get thier mario/metroid/zelda fix, beyond that, it is an unmitaged commerical disaster being bested only by the likes of the nintendo robot in nintendo history.

I was actually wrong here, I said 400k which was still poor. Your Nintendo only sold 220k consoles in its second November, Black Friday, etc.
It's done, I'm sorry Mario landed and is one of the highest rated games of the year. It's over man, it will sell LESS than any other Nintendo console other than Virtual Boy by a fair margin.

Nothing you or anyone else says changes these numbers, they are ungodly bad and most of Nintendo's leadership is getting hammered right now.

I covered that earlier, if Atari sold 1 jaguar one month and the following month they sold 5 it seems like 500% is a good sign.

First, the Wii came out AFTER the Xbox 360 and Ps3. Second, "Abysmal" is not a number. And hell, since no one can claim any sales numbers for October or November, It's fairly stupid to declare the device a "disaster".

Tell me where you see the number 220,000 consoles from anything besides poorly sourced articles where people are making guesses. NPD didn't release any numbers on it, and neither did Nintendo. Also, why are you only choosing to focus on the US Market? The Wii U sold, minimum, 100K in Japan during the month of November, outselling every home console on the market.
EDIT: Yeah, I just looked it up, and depending on your sources, the Wii U sold between 220,000 to 559,812 consoles for the Month of November. The 559,812 number is reached by adding together every week of sales listed on VG Chartz, which, for all I know, they got by having Hobos whispering random numbers into their ears, but so far it's the only numbers I can find with any source at all. 559,812 is fairly respectable for a month where 2 rivals are launching their consoles during the same month. And of course, all indications are that the Wii Us sales are increasing in December.

For if they had, they would not have waited a year+ to have bought a Wii U, now would they? This is a very similar/same situation you obviously didn't know about or have forgotten.Anyhow the people that bought a Wii U simply didn't know it existed last holiday season, most people have forgotten the Wii/WiiU. This holiday season is the first time I have saw a commercial for a Wii U honestly on cable TV stations aimed at young children. That and BF/Christmas time is the only reason they had a bit of a increase on sales, but it's not enough anyhow. Unless your expecting a Dreamcast of a Wii U when it comes to sales success. It did Dreamcast numbers and that was 14-15 years ago, population and gamers are at an ALL TIME HIGH. So why is the Wii U selling at an ALL TIME LOW like the Sega Dreamcast? You can answer that one. I know what it is, and it's called a SONY PLAYSTATION 4.
So those Wii U sales that are low and Sega Dreamcast-esque are just in fact what the Wii U system is. A very unpopular console that will die an early death like every other system that sells this low in the market. Name me one console that sells this low that hasn't died an early death or lasts 7 years? I know you can't.

Oh yeah Ninty doesn't want low sales and their stocks to tank. I'd say they'll figure something out far sooner than let this tragic comedy shakespere play out for 5 FULL more years and take the hits to the wallet/bank account/stocks year after year. You wouldn't either! They'll spend a year or 2 on it and Nintendo CO. (Miyamoto or whoever runs their now dog and pony show) will be designing a new Nintendo console in 2014, but you won't here about it till 2015, and the Wii U will be dead by 2016 or earlier.
If you guys want to ride that trainwreck and be loyal to it, go for it. I was loyal to the Sega CD and Sega Dreamcast, and don't regret it one bit. But the Wii U can't even compare to those systems imho.
So it would be nice if you Wii U supporters quit making up stuff. Like PS4 and XB1 are effecting your sacred Wii U sales. No one and I mean no one, but the hardcore gaming people that buy every system believe that nonsense you just claimed like it was some holy truth, and those people already bought the Wii U know it's just a complimentary item that gives them reason to own a dust buster. Well the sane ones already sold it on craigslist/ebay for the most part and the rest are just some youtube making ad revenue dude bros that feel they have all the consoles so they can make balanced reviews. But in reality they are lazy and don't want to get a normal job.
Casual gamers are eying PS4 and XB1 this gen, so you might want to get used to it... the earlier the better if you really want to play a library of games in the next 5 years. Prepare for your future, you deserve it.
The PS4 and XBone launches probably affected Wii U some, but November is typically a very good month for selling consoles. In 2011 PS3, 360, and Wii all sold at least 3x in November what they did in October.

Just something to keep in mind when considering the meaning of October-November sales numbers.
That's bad when the last gen 360/PS3 consoles kicking the crap out of the Wii U in sales. That's in line with what happened to the 3DO and Jaguar they couldn't even compete with the SNES/Genesis.
Now imagine this. PS3 and XBOX360 outlast the Wii U.
Man talk about how NOT to do a console. I really think PS3 gets supported a little this year, I believe XBOX360 fans think the XB1 is what MS is making games for, but yeah those numbers you are showing do NOT run in Ninty's favor whatsoever. Post links to articles where people reference their source for the 220K number. the only articles I've seen mentioning "220k" were estimations with no basis at all. My number comes from VGChartz just by adding all the weeks of November together. Not all that scientific, and yes I'm relying on their sources for the weekly numbers to be correct, but at least I have a source for my numbers.
At this rate (and current rate of sales increasing during December), the Wii U total sales will be between 5 and 6 million by January 1st, 2014. Not a bad number by any stretch of the imagination.

Oct 19th = 34,764
Oct 26th = 30,654
October 2013 total Wii U sales 187,281.
Now multiply that by Nintendo's press statement of 340% and we get 63,675.54 + 187,281 = 250,956 .54
So it's more like 250k Wii U's were sold in the month of November. Unless someone can show me different. Which is like 20% better than Sega Dreamcast back in the day. So they might make 15M LT sales on Wii U at this rate, but it's gonna drop come next holiday season more than this imho. So it's on par for Sega Dreamcast numbers still imho.

Im extremely frustrated at Nintendo because of the Wii U, but i'd still like to contest that they know exactly what they're doing at this point. Regardless of some of the obvious mistakes that still doesn't get excused by the point i try to argue below.
With no hub-bub push for HD games until NOW because of the release of the new competing consoles it makes sense now to ride the wave of new consoles and get free press. They may have been using this time to make sure beta testing (launch) the Wii U goes right.
Even some of the new Sony games won't be coming out for PS4, and only the PS3 because they know even now if they focus on PS4 sales, not enough people own the console yet to make major game sales that they want on some of their bigger titles.
Most games now are going to be under performing and be more of a tech demo and sales test.

Please don't use that site - there are several cases when they had hardware sales above hardware shipment numbers published by manufacturs or when they started tracking sales of certain games before those games were released in those markets.
