Intel Retail Edge Winter Deal

kinda angry, last year, the deal didn't go live until like 4:20 cst if i remember correctly.

I have a friend that works at best buy that will do this for me but he doesn't know what to do (nor do I), is there a guide or walk through I can give to him so he can get signed up?

I will try and break it down best I can.
1. Go to retailedge.intel.com

2. Go through the "Join now" steps on the page by filling out Region, Name, etc...

3. Once into the web page there are several tabs along the top, scrolling modules, and many other distractions. Go to the "Rewards" tab along the top, and then go to "The Holiday Deal" that will appear right below that.

4. The Holiday Deal page will come up with all the details and deals available. What they will want to do is go to the bottom of that page to see the "Required Activities" which are learning modules with information followed by questions for each one. Some will be text while some will be video. These MUST be done as a qualification to participate.

5. Somewhere along the way verification of employment needs to be submitted. This is the hardest part in my opinion based on all of the trouble I have had in the past getting it done. There are several ways to accomplish this. Mobile application taking a picture with your phone, email with attachment through the site, or old school fax. This can be done under the "My Account" page which can be accessed via the link on the top right.

The learning modules take time but can really be done in a night. The verification should probably take priority just to get that ball rolling and you can do the modules while that is going.

I think that is the shortest way I can explain! Good luck!

good thing i read your post ken. I didnt know i had required learnings to do since im already producer. just did them all

Last year I THOUGHT I had everything done. Quizzes, verification, all of it. But for some reason it wouldn't let me order. I had over 50,000 points and 10,000 of those were from the previous week. I was going mad. All I had to do was scroll down to see those and I would have been good.

Any update? I've been checking every half-hour or so and haven't seen the option to buy the 'Holiday Deals' yet.

I work for one of the companies but not on the retail side. :)

Me too.......I don't think they care.

It's just one of the perks of working in corporate IT at a big chain retailer. ;)

Nevermind the 70-80hr work weeks.........Retail Edge is definitely worth those late nights. lol

Nothing here either. I really had thought it would be earlier. Guess we wait. I will let anyone know here if and when I do.

It's live. Just in case you were watching this thread instead of the other one...

When do these deals end? Friend is signed up but hasn't done the training/modules yet.

I wana say Jan 9th or until they are sold out.

So your friend should get busy. It won't take them long.

It only took me about 45 minutes to complete all of the required quizzes, plus the additional 1000pt quizzes necessary to reach 10,000pts.

Some of the questions are tricky because they use ambiguous, non-technical language.

And for future maintenance of the account, you only get partial credit for anything less than 100% accuracy on those tests. You have to do something like 2,000 points worth of quizzes each month and doing the minimum is easier if you get them all correct.

The other thread was closed due to the selling and begging, get that crap out of here.

It did get a little ugly over there. Part of it was that people didn't get in on the 4930k deal fast enough. I snagged one as fast as possible. They sell out each year it seems.

The buying and selling in the other thread was shameful.

"Anyone want mine? I don't need it" was basically every other post. -_- along with the conditions "Don't lowball me"

How can you lowball something bought at back-of-the-truck prices... Seriously people -_-

You ruin it for those who actually want one, then complain under the guise of needing one... Glad I ordered day 1.

And this is WHY they do limited quantities.

This deal is for sales associates to test out and be informed about Intel's products. Too bad it just turns out to be bi-annual resell bonanza which explicitly violates the T&C of the Intel Retail Edge program.

But then again you cannot hate the player, got hate the game right eh? LOL

Has anyone got a shipping confirmation for their 4930K yet? I am a little worried because Intel charged my VISA (different name then my cousin who owns the account) and when I went to try to log into the account today it tells me the account is inactive..Anyone else seeing anything like this?

I asked in the other thread if it was ok to use a different person's CC to purchase and everyone said it was fine. I hope they didn't get me fucked over:(:(..

AFAIK no one has actually gotten any shipping confirmations, just trolls.

confirmation or your product? proof? when did you order?

Ordered within 20 minutes of it going live. Got confirmation today. Tracking number doesn't have any information. Its a UPS Quantum Ship notification email. Say's delivery is December 17th.

Apparently Intel decided to ruin my holiday..My cousin got an email saying that after a "random review of their records" that his account was terminated and he was banned from IRE due to to this:

"Impersonating other users or members or sending false verification information is considered fradulent activity and will result in the termination of Member's Account, and may result in a Member being permanently banned from the Program."
If your order has not been shipped yet, the funds will be refunded shortly..

What we can't figure out is that he/me did nothing wrong..He works for BestBuy, and this email from them was sent to his work email, the same one he used to sign up for the account..They verified everything electronically from since he has a @GeekSquad.com email domain."...

I did everything for him, he never logged into the account after he was created and verified, and I did all the required lessons needed to get to "Producer" status..I promptly ordered a 3930K (early AM EST on the 6th)..

The only think I can think of is that Intel didn't like that the name on the credit card didn't match the name on the account, but I am sure there are at LEAST a few hundred people out there that work in retail and don't have a CC of their own..I asked a couple veterans in the other thread that got closed if anyone had used someone else's CC and two people told me they had done it before without a problem..:(:(

I mean unless Intel really under estimated the demand for the 3930K and had a panic attack when they saw that nobody wanted the 4770K they decided to cancel some orders...I am sure if that was the case I wouldn't be the only one reporting back saying it happened though no?:confused:

Lastly, they haven't refunded the money to my CC so I am "Hoping" it is already processed and will still squeak through but if it does it will be a Christmas Miracle...It was going to be a gift for myself, I told my family not to get me anything despite their persistent bugging of what to get me since I spent some money on myself and now this happens..

CCity, Ill let you know how it goes for me. I did the same thing as you. I have a friend who works at BB in Geek Squad. He verified the account but I did all the required trainings and got him to producer status. I got in late and missed the 3930k but did snag a 4770k. Ill let you know if it ships.

I'm still trying to figure out how this works out for you. Your cousin made a account with his information. You used that information and your credit card to order from his account from what you are saying.

I'm guessing some/most of you are doing the same in here. Using others account information to order stuff for yourself maybe. Perhaps some of you actually do get stuff for yourself. I'm just reading through all the post. Seems a lot are abusing the system buying and reselling or letting others get stuff using their information.

I really don't care either way. Just trying to figure out what is going on in here.
