Now that dust has settled, are you playing your new consoles?

Here is how it goes in my house

PS3 has been retired as a bluray player and is ratchet and clank-uncharted payer only

Xbox 360 has been relegated to some arcade games Geometry Wars and Atomic Tank for example) and HD-DVD player

Wii was sold and proceeds used to get a Wii U, it is my primary entertainment as it streams Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. Mario is where it's at along with some Mass Effect 3, Lego Undercover, and Tekken

Laptop has been promoted to Blu-ray player as it seems to have no issues with high bitrate material unlike the PS3 slim...

Future considerations:

PS4 when it comes down in price and some Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted are available

Xbox One: Not going to happen due to the Kinect

Yes, mostly Assassin's creed black flag and resound but I have still been working on GTA 5 on my PS3, BF4 on the PC and Legend of Zelda a link between worlds on my 3DS.

I'm satisfied with the games I have for PS4 for now but I'm not dedicated to one platform, I just play the games I like :).

AC4 is the only game I bought for my XB1, and still working through it. I keep forgetting to progress the main story because it is fun to raid and plunder the seas. I don't have anything else on the horizon after AC4 until mid-next year. I originally preordered for Watch Dogs, but that got pushed back, so we'll see what comes next. I just bought Rocksmith 2014 for the 360, and I still have a little bit of things to do in GTA5, so that's where I am headed next after I finish AC4.

For me, my newest gaming device is my upgraded PC, and I've been playing that a lot along with my Wii U. $200 during Black Friday went a long way for me this year.

Great info guys. Seems like there is a bunch of gaming options on the console. PS4 is possibly releasing next week. I think I may pick it up. :)

Just picked up a Wii U. Only game I have is Super Mario 3D World... great game but already want something else. Think I am going to go pick up Mass Effect 3.

Went ahead and opened up my Day One Edition Xbox One ( was going to wait for xmas but sold my 360 at a great price) so been playing NFS Rivals, Marvel Super Heroes and Ghosts. I like it a lot.

I have BF4, which I play occassionally, and Ryse Day One. I'm almost done with Ryse and would like to trade it for Dead Rising. I need to finish AC4 on my PS3 as well.

Playing the crap out of BF4 on the ps4. Having a blast. Only game I currently have and it has easily kept my attention. Even with the glitches and problems bf4 is still badass.

My XB1 is on pretty much all day, since I use it for everything - not just games. PS4 hasn't gotten much use after the first week.

I played a bunch of resogun before I sold my ps4 last night for $100 profit, got up this morning went to best buy and snagged a new ps4

I bought my XB1 as a Forza machine, so that is my only game. I just have not had enough time to play a whole lot due to my schedule. My next game will be Tomb Raider definitive edition. BTW, for those with Dead Rising 3, is that game hard and sadistic like other Capcom games? With my lack of time, I have no desire to buy any game that is sadistically hard to the point of frustration. Is it true they did away with the time limits?

Dead rising 3 has a very accessible mode of play that takes the difficulty away some you can save just about anywhere and their isn't the harsh timer. It is the most fun dead rising yet.

So you mean there is no timer at all? I left the series after getting incredibly frustrated in the first one. The difficulty level just pissed me off as I am no longer the hardcore gamer I used to be. I never have much time so gaming has to be relaxed and casual for me these days. Forza 5 has been perfect for that as it allows me to pick up the controller and play for a half hour before turning the XB1 back off. On my X360, games like The Halos or Saints Row likewise allow that.

Yeah what they call nightmare mode now is what was the regular gameplay before where you could only save in bathrooms and there was a strict timer. The regular mode is much more pick up and just kill stuff.

Make sure you go to forzamotorsport.net and get your free in game rewards and money.

PS4
I don't know if I should pick one up late Jan or early Feb with tax money or wait till the end of the year honestly. I'm leaning to just pick one up sooner than later because it is simply the most awesome console in existence! LOL!

The games I want to play for PS4 include.

Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition - PlayStation 4 (January 28, 2014)
DriveClub (PlayStation 4) by Sony Computer Entertainment (Apr 1, 2014)
Watch Dogs - PlayStation 4 by UBI Soft (Jun 30, 2014)
Final Fantasy XV - PlayStation 4 by Square Enix (Dec 31, 2014)
The Evil Within - PlayStation 4 by Bethesda (Dec 31, 2014)

I still have to play/purchase these for my PS3. Off the top of my head.

Ni No Kuni
Gran Turismo 6 Digital
The Last of Us
FFXIII-2
Red Dead Redemption
Lightning Returns
Rocksmith 2014

With games like Tomb Raider Definitive though...I'm starting to wonder if that sort of release becomes common. Take a last gen title and upgrade the quality. I guess we will have to see what is announced in the next few weeks / months, and how many other studios do anything like this. Everyone was anticipating a thing like this happening when GTA5 was released. So lets see if other dev's bite and do this, and have compelling releases. Either way I'm definitely waiting 2 more months before I decide, but the PS4 is so damn awesome that it's difficult waiting. Good thing there's good games still on the PS3. I'll be keeping my PS3 getting a PS4. As for XBOX 1 and Wii U no I don't want 720p up-scaled games for the next 5 years, that's what the PS3 is for. If Wii U could crank out more than 1 decent Nintendo game per year, and re-evaluate that stupid ass controller, get more 1080p native games running on it maybe I could give more of a crap about it. As now it's overpriced and under performs, so hell naw. XBOX1 off! You suck.

Thanks for the tip as I may end up picking up Dead Rising 3 after it drops in price. My backlog of X360 games is substantial with Rage and Halo 4 being on the list to play after I finish Saints Row 3. I want a casual game with no timers and no sadistic levels of difficulty, so that sounds perfect. It sucks being a gamer when time is a scarce commodity.

Another EMO rant that gets so old. No wonder the world has such a negative perception of gamers.

Playing some Ghosts on the PS4, just waiting for some RPGs to hit the console. Otherwise it's just sitting there.

Havent opened my PS4 lol. I use my Xbox one mostly for TV heh, really like the nfl app. Forza 5 was cool but the grind to the cars I want is ridiculous and I just dont have time for it.

You should see me get EMO that ain't even close to EMO! Let me try though hee hee.

There's simply far more QUALITY games on any PS than any XBOX or a Wii console. Look at the numbers Wii and XBOX360 have more shovelware than the PS3. That's pretty much a fact and anyone who states someone is EMO because their console lacks the better games, but has the shovelware to prove it is an EMO in disguise. That be you. The EMO Shovel-ware supporter. Me just a happy EMO with better less shovel-ware games :(:) Because when a system hits 1000+ 975+ games it's loaded with shovelware PS3 hasn't even hit 800 titles you know why? Quality matters on the PS3, not so much on the XBOX and Wii though ;)

PS, PS2, and PS3 had plenty of shovelware. Don't tell me that the PS3 didn't have shovelware when people are praising David Cage games like Heavy Rain like they were actually good.

Just opened my PS4 after almost a month lol. Turn it on, works fine. Update and I get pulsing blue light of death. Awesome. So I turn it off and turn it back on and its in safe mode. Now I have to reinstall off a usb drive.

Man that sucks, the first ps4 I got I sold for $550 and I got a new one and nba2k14 tonight. I can't stop playing this thing. Work is gonna be rough tomorrow, 7am sure comes fast

i ended up getting rid of my ps4. 2k14 was fun at first, but online its a joke, eveyone exploits the run to the basket and draw a phantom foul or plows through and magically pass to a 3 point shooter. 2k has gotten more and more into being a look at this alley oop pass and slam dunk and less about defense. 2K is like the clippers, fun to watch at first, but gets old and you know they aint gonna win no title and cp3 an blake griffin care more about tv commercials than winning rings.

I decided to sell my PS4 and play some of the many games I missed out on my PS3 instead, I have a huge backlog on PS+, and I will be buying TLOU soon.

KZ:SF just wasn't good enough, and DriveClub is delayed, there is probably going to be a bundle deal when Infamous comes out, it just didn't seem wise to hold onto a console foe 1-2 games.

That's your problem, you're online gaming. It's full of virgin losers. Just play single player.

I have been trying to buy a PS4 and it has been insanely hard. No stock at all in the UAE. There is only once I saw it on sale and that day for some damned reason, I decided to not buy it. Stupid decision imo.

I play my Wii-U more than I play my PC at this point, and I have over 55 games in my steam log.

The Wii-U game catalog is just super fun right now. Hopefully they keep it up

I've been playing my Xbox One mainly due to Killer Instinct. Fighting games always get my attention, even if they aren't that great.
I've messed with the PS4 a little, but none of the launch games really do it for me. I mainly bought it knowing better games will be on the way.
My Wii U is collecting dust although next Spring I'm sure it'll be very, very different when Smash and MK hit.

Just completed Ryse : Son of Rome and I have to admit .. I enjoyed it. The co-op MP mode is really fun and challenging. Still isn't worth $60 but I would recommend for around $40 or less. Not to mention its the best looking game on the Xbox one without question.

Other than that I've been playing Ass Creed 4 and LOVING IT. I am not an Ass Creed fan so this was surprising.

I plan to finish the new Mario for the Wii U this weekend. Also another great game. I love my next gen consoles.but in honest truth neither the Xbox one or PS4 are worth getting right now unless you like to be an early adopter. But I don't regret it.

I don't have a ps4 or xbox one yet but I have been playing my Wii U. I've been plugging away at Wind Waker HD and also playing Mario 3d World with the wife.

Been playing a lot of BF4 on the PS4 since its pretty rock solid stable compared to my PC. That and Madden and NBA 2k14 with my friends. COD ghost is a bust.

I just finished ass creed 4 on my ps4 and have gotten bored with just sailing around. Bf4 is unplayable for me 9 matches out of 10,so my ps4 is collecting dust at the moment. Resogun also got old for me.

Waiting for planetside 2 now.

Just picked up nba2k14 for my ps4 and enjoyed playing against some friends on new years eve. That's about as crazy as the party gets when everybody has kids :(. I don't see myself playing it single player but it's about the only option for local multiplayer.

Outside of that my daughter keeps playing lego marvel, and I starting to play bf4. First battlefield I have played since bf2 (circa 2005). So I definitely suck at it but I like it. Sometimes the domination servers won't connect or last night all the servers were down, but I haven't had too many problems with it once I'm in a game.

Still haven't beaten any games except lego marvel. I'm almost done with AC4, and I got over halfway through killzone, but bf4 has my attention now so it'll be awhile till I finish up either one of those.

Didn't you say it was a gift to your daughter? Is she playing anything on it?

Not me :) My wife and I don't have any kids, hence I can buy both consoles on a whim.
One of my closest friends has a young daughter (5) that loves the WiiU and Kindle Fire, though. Those are probably better solutions for younger kids.

I play nba2k14 on my xbox one like a fiend...of course when the 2k servers aren't being terrible.

I hear that. I hope they use the free XBL servers for 2k15 and if they do it will be interesting to see if it's any different than those used for other platforms.
