I'm somewhat confused here because I don't know the "correct answer" based upon what i've searched.

1. Friend has a world we (wife and I) want to play in. [**]
2. He has a gold subscription
3. His son plays with him.
4. They play in split screen.
5. We would play from our house.

Question #1: Do we need a gold account?
Question #2: Do we both need "gold accounts" to join their game or just one of us?

[**] this isn't genmay so no pics of wife

You would need a gold account, and I don't THINK you both would need a gold account, just one of you. Don't quote me on that.

My wife and I used to play Minecraft together, but we both have Gold accounts and we each have our own TVs and Xbox 360s, so I'm not an expert on split screen.

I believe one of you would need to have an XBox Gold subscription, and for both of you to play, you would need to log on to the Gold subscribers account and Xbox, and play split screen (one would have to login as a 'Guest' of the Gold subscriber).

If you both wanted to join and play on your separate Xboxes, you'd both need a separate Gold account.

I'm not 100% sure about this policy anymore (I haven't played my 360 with my wife since Gears of War 3).

That makes more sense. Thanks a ton.
