HOT Sennheiser HD650 $319

Dam good price on these. Not really wanting to spend that right now but. . . .

I was thinking of reselling these on eBay, but they seem hard to sell to make any profit in the short term...

Why do you want to sell them, any complaints ?

I had these a few years ago when I was more of a noob, I was thinking of getting 3, selling 2 for $500, and keeping one. I just didn't have a good source back then, I would love to try them out again, but I did remember loving them, even though I couldn't drive them :(

Add code paramore for additional $48 savings bringing this to a screaming $271!

Where is the cuopon code applied? Can't seem to find it using the Senn checkout process.

Thanks for the info Kr1z. I'm planning on a itx build with a asus Impact motherboard. It has a built in amp, I hope it's enough to power these. That's a pretty good idea to sell them, $180 each would be a nice profit and you would end up with money and a pair for free essentially. :D
edit: How are these for gaming?

Apply codes CYBT3PPS and paramore

Price comes to $271.97 . Lowest ever for these pretty much.

Anyone know if these are good for gaming. Specifically BF4, and other fps where directional sound is important?

They're amazing for everything, you'll need to invest another ~$500 on good cables and an amp for them though, sounds cards dont put out enough power to drive them. As a long term project you can plug them directly into a computer but the sound will suffer until you get the amp.

Just a heads up, the HiFi HE-400s are going to be on sale for $299.99 from razordog on blackfriday/cybermonday. Not sure how they compare to the 650's..

Open air headphones tend to be better than closed headphones in terms of positioning, so these with the right amp would be awesome for gaming...and perhaps a bit overkill, but beautiful overkill.

They sell on ebay 330-400. They're 483/new on amazon.

After ebays 10% and paypal 3% you really aren't profiting that much, esp if you have to pay sales tax to Sennheiser when buying them.

I picked up 1 for myself :D can't wait to try out my current PC->Stereo->These and then PC->These. (Yes, I have a SoundCard w/AMP).

What about the new soundblaster Z soundcard with a dedicated headphone amp built in?

OP I just bought a pair of Q701's a week ago for $220 on Amazon. I prefer more bass and to "feel the sound" which kind of left me dissapointed with the Q701's. They sound amazing and accurate but I primarily use them for gaming, but they are not comfortable (those bumps on the band hurt my head) and the lack of oomph from bass don't do great.

The Q701's suck up a lot of juice on my soundcard's amp. My ATH-700x couldnt go higher than 14% on my volume and the Q701 sits around 50%. Do these need more juice than the Q701's?

After i saw 271.xx for these cans I pulled the trigger. Amazing price. In for 3 OP lol.

I am hoping 350 after fees, selling for about 400+15, I just want enough to get a pair for free. Came out to $1480 after tax, $1400 to sell 4, essentially get that last one for free or almost free... I am so dam happy.

Ordered! I hope the Asus Impacts sound card can handle these monsters.

this is a FANTASTIC deal. i love my HD650's. they are phenomenal for music and really great for gaming. even if you don't have what you consider a proper source/amp for these, you should still pick them up. the rest can be purchased down the road.

Ordered for $271. Did not get charged sales tax.

I am using an HD595 now with a dedicated DAC and Headphone Amp, and the HD650 will fit in very nicely.

What do you guys recommend to power these bad boys. Will my Asus Impact sound card be enough or should I look into an external headphone Amp?

The built in headphone amps in the higher end SoundBlaster and the Asus cards are still crap.

You will still need a real headphone amp for these.

I think a Schiit Magni should be suffice, they cost $99. But you would probably still see better results if you got an even more powerful one (like the Schiit Lyr). I would not go with any amp weaker than the Magni.

For what it is worth, I was going to get a HE-400 or HE-500, but at this price I just ordered the HD650. Even with the HE-400 going to be at $300 for black friday, I still think this is the better deal.

These are great phones given that price. If I were looking for an open pair I would be all over it.

As it is, I just purchased a closed pair yesterday.

Dam $449 for the Lyr, what about the models in between ?

Definitely in for one to check them out. I'm curious to hear how much a quality amp will make a difference. I'm going to try them on my HTC One and then through my Onkyo TX-SR805 which has top of line Burr Brown DACs and some decent amplification that should have no issue driving these.

What about a amp that could power a pair of book shelf studio monitors and these headphones that wont take up half my desk. I mean I could find a normal receiver for like surround sound. Would that be a good option? or would it be better to get a headphone amp then get a pair of powered monitors. suggestions ?

Tried to order... between the time I put it in my cart and applied code and entered my CC info the deal was removed.

Thanks to all the assholes who ordered 4-5 of these.....

Yeah, that would be cool. I try real hard to not just scalp deals for easy profit on things like this.. because there are people who really want the actual items.

I had been looking at HD600/650s for the past few weeks. Just need an amp for it as well. My DT770pros are nice but I could use an amp..and they are closed cans :p
