Show Your LCD(s) setups!!!

Finally got my quad-display where I like it. I still have some further adjustments to do but at least the viewing angles are all good now...

I'm running a 6-monitor stand I got from Amazon with 24" 1920x1200 HP displays in the middle and 20" 1600x1200 HP displays on the side. I had to modify the stand by adding spacers behind the top display the bottom side screens as the angle was far too shallow to get a good view of the screens when sitting fairly close...

Here's how I did it. Thanks Mouser!!

jmroberts70, do you mind linking the stand?

Also, do you think it has any chance of holding a 29" (2560x1080) monitor in the middle flanked by two 23" monitors? I've been looking for at least a quad stand that can hold a 23" on top with the aforementioned 3 in the middle but my biggest concern is with the sheer width of my middle monitor. Your stand looks like it doesn't have actual rotating arms... so as long as it's wide enough I might be ok.

Thanks guys! I actually did use an EasyMountLCD for this build. I got it from Amazon but it looks like it's no longer available there:

--I paid $196 shipped and that was in my mind a great bargain for such a heavy frame (I think the package was 47 lbs).

I think I took the inspiration about mounting the speakers from a "customer pic" on Amazon and it has been great to get those guys off my desk and free up some space! As far as holding a 29" LCD, I think it's quite possible. The manufacturer says this frame is good for holding 6 28" screens so just one 29" in the center should be fine.

I like what you did using the extra mounts for your speakers. I did something similar with mine.

Hydralisk, a 28" triple stand would probably work well for you. I use the hex version of this http://shop.easymountlcd.com/Deluxe...-Desktop-Clamp-up-to-28-002-0019-002-0019.htm It is a very high quality stand for an insanely cheap price.

Very interesting.

I'm going to try this:

with this:

This is so much cheaper than other stands I've been looking at.

nice man

for your standoffs did you just use extra long bolts??

No, I actually used "double standoffs" to make it work. Here's a link to the Mouser product I used. When compared to the vastly more expensive adjustable multi-monitor stands (that actually require very little adjustment), this makes much more sense.

My recent setup before I retired the CRT

Apple Cinema Display 21" (Sony Trinitron Tube)
Panasonic 42PF30 Plasma 42"
Audio Technica ATH-AD700 (headphone)

nice thats SO MUCH CLEARER now :)

I might order some of those

I think LOWES has long enough and correct thread machine screws, and they sell some AL and some Nylon spacers that would allow me to put tension on the everything.

but I need to height adjust anyways, so plywood is in my future im sure

I actually checked out Lowes and Home Depot before I ordered from Mouser. Neither of those hardware stores had anything remotely close to what I needed. They both had M4-.7 standoffs but far too short and skinny for the 60mm total length once they're doubled up.

What do you mean by needing height adjustment? I actually am going to modify this frame further to lower it about 2"-3" but need to drill some holes and get creative with fasteners (and tear the assembly completely down again)...

I don't think that will work. The pole that comes with the triple stand isn't going to be tall enough to use that other part. You need a hex stand like jmoberts70 has. That will have the proper size pole.

I'm using 2 different branded 27" IPS and the VESA mounts are not in the same place, so one is about an inch lower than the other screen

crappy cell pic:

What is better about that stand? Doesn't the one it comes with have height, tilt, and swivel adjusts already?

Yeah, you're screwed. A big rule with multi-display setup is try and keep each screen the same brand and model. Otherwise you get what you're dealing with now. I'm not sure what I'd do with what you have other than sell the screens and start buying same-brand displays... Sorry dude!!

just my simple setup wish i had money but i guess 3 x 19in monitors is good enough for now :( little messy

No offense, but mandatory "in the closet" joke l :p

Really cool set up, must get warm though.

nah fabbing a mount to fix it wont be that bad.

I suppose to could try and CL the shimian for about what a QNIX cost, but probably not worth the hassle since its not a Dell or Apple

2nd Samsung 2443 arrived today, still need to rearrange and work on the angles of the displays as the desk is tiny
