Nexus-Five thread

It's weird because they show OOS, but if you click on the direct links, you can still add to cart.

It might be US and Canada use different inventories? Direct links show OOS for me as well atm. I also think it is because they might be pausing orders intermittently to make sure they don't oversell. The Black 16gb/32gb and White 16gb are flipping between available and OOS for me. White 32gb seems to be more ample in supply or low in demand :p

This is kinda more exciting for me since it is the first tech product I've jumped in day 1 like in years. :p

Update: Looks like White 32gb went OOS for the first time.

Still showing as in stock for me.

Yeah White 32gb just went back for me. I'm guessing they first suspend sales temporarily. Also maybe Canada and US have different inventory.

Other 3 versions though haven't flipped back to available for me.

Update: White 32gb flipped back to OOS again.

Confirmation 32GB Black for me and went with the 2 day shipping ($4 more). $436.93 with a "Leaves Warehouse On" November 5, 2013.

Anybody want and HTC One?

Black 16gb for me. Only one available after checking many times. Tech specs page only says T-Mobile/Sprint specifically?

32GB Black for me and a 16GB White for my mom for Christmas. Can't wait.

So the big question for me is do I leave Verizon for AT&T to get this phone. There's nothing on Verizon I want, and I'm on a shared plan with my family so I chip in $50/month. a basic AT&T plan with 2GB data would cost like $100/month.

I wouldn't. ATT is terrible here in Phoenix. Network speeds are abysmal and I drop every single call I'm on at least once (literally). I've been on 4 calls today and every single one dropped mid conversation. The same phone on Tmobile was fast and flawless.

I don't live in Phoenix? I'm moving to Raleigh next week and from what I've heard (unless wrong) is that ATT has the second best coverage behind Verizon.

I'm unsure of the other carrier coverages though, need to do more research.

See thats really really not a good suggestion because wireless coverage depends on region. I mean this heavily, what you experience will most likely be far from what others do. I can say that Verizon was actually worse here in Houston then AT&T but is it true everywhere? Hell no, I tried all of the Big 4 national carriers in Houston, AT&T is the best, overall coverage in Texas Verizon is the best, then AT&T then sprint and finally T-Mobile being by far the worse. But its not like that in every place so the best advice is to go to a AT&T store and test out some phones. Ask people around you locally who use AT&T and then make your decision. You could always do SraightTalk you get 2GB of AT&T LTE for cheaper than what you pay on verizon. With Verizon and Sprint you will always be heavily locked down on what phones you can get.

Wireless coverage is great here too. It doesn't matter if I'm in the middle of downtown or out in the boonies, I will drop calls sitting in one spot. I mentioned that I'm in Phoenix because maybe it's better in other areas but it's not just me...everyone I know here in town on AT&T has that problem. Believe it or not coverage here is great on AT&T....their reliability is not though. Maybe it's better where you live but my point is to ask people who live there. Specifically ask them about dropped calls.

Everything about this kid sucks.

5" is a perfect size. Big enough that everything is nice and legible, small enough to allow for one handed operation. And processor... it's... too fast? What an idiot. Snapdragon 800 is pretty efficient with battery. It'll be in line with most other devices for battery life.

Causes eye cancer and doesn't have Siri? Yeah... fuck off.

Another new Nexus phone launch, already sold out in the first day, and back ordered for weeks.

I sure hope Google and LG learned the lesson from last years Nexus 4 launch ?

Well, business as usual for a Nexus launch then.

Was it really that hard to have inventory, Google? Google does the worst product launches ever.

Anyone surprised?

I honestly don't think Google gives a shit about Hardware. The purpose of the Nexus is to promote the platform with small time enthusiast developers. I'd say it's successful.

How is this any different than a major product launch for any vendor?
Apple is already telling its idiots dont expect to be able to get their hand on a retina ipad mini before Christmas.

What I criticised Google for with their Nexus 4 launch wasn't the supply issues by their ordering issues. Their website become overload and was freaking out. As Google this should not have been.

Hey, at least Google's website worked this time!

Honestly, I think Google and LG had more phones on hand than last time, but the Nexus 5 wound up being more popular than the Nexus 4, so it sold out quickly anyway.

Snagged myself a White 32gb at 2:25 pm. I'm switching from a Nexus 4 on ATT to T-Mobile - cheaper per month and LTE.

Yeah I ordered mine at 2:03PM and it says expect shipping from the warehouse on Nov 5th....Unfortunate.

Dont fret. One of the invoices posted of an already shipped nexus 5 still shows shipping by November 5th as well.

Black/16GB ordered at 11:04:57, no shipping notice, says 11/05.
My N4 is up for sale.

Page was still showing N4 on devices, ordered from a direct link to the page.

If it is like last time the shipping priority doesn't seem directly correlated to order time.

You guys are lucky with shipping costs though. We only have 1 option (2-7days) and it is $17. Plus high taxes (paid $48 in taxes) :p

Paid $22 in taxes and $9.99 for shipping for me. Didn't question it until after I placed the order, then looked at the taxes and whatnot.

Any official reviews of the battery yet? I'm ready for a laugh.
