Battlefield 4 Pre-Loading today...

I thought the game came out tuesday?

Comes out Tuesday the 29th.

Pre-load took me a long freaking time. I was getting around 500 kb/s down (I usually get around 6 mb/s from Origin). It took something like 8 hours to download. Still not a problem, given that we've got a few days, but I think anyone who waits until Monday night to pre-load is going to be disappointed.

Game comes out Monday night at 9PM/PST according to Origin in my launcher when I hover my mouse over it.

You def want to do the pre-download if you have purchased it. I do believe there might be a bottleneck on Monday when people really start to hit it.

Is that 25gb download and you still need 25gb free to install?
Reason I ask is it's going on my 256gb ssd and I'd like to know how much to free up.
Right now it's 17gb free.

I have no clue. Sorry...

Thanks for the heads up. For some reason I thought it was 24h preload period only.

I'm wondering if using a VPN to Korea will activate my game early like in Battlefield 3.

My BF4 folder is 23.8 gigs after the install was done.

There is a topic on bf4 reddit and linus tech tips forums about this subject. It work for bf3 it should work again.

Digital deluxe plus premium 't'ain't cheap. Who's going for it here? All of you? ;)

I ended up with a copy of Battlefield 4 for $48 from GMG and grabbed the Premium service off Amazon. Somehow saving twelve dollars on the game and having a $5 credit + another $5 dollar credit for preordering Premium convinced me it was a good idea.

About $90 bucks on a video game? I must be retarded.

It still amazes me how people complain the game isn't cheap...

you can buy it for 48 dollars, wait a few more weeks and apparently you can get it for $30 at some crazy black friday sale.

Remember when you'd pay $59 dollars for a NES game -- factor inflation today and it's like you were paying $110+ dollars for a single player game that could be beaten in a few nights. The fact that many of us get 1 or 2 YEARS worth of solid gameplay for $100 dollars, it's a damn good deal. People just see "$100" and freak out.

Sure, if you are the type that will play it for 1 hour a month, it's probably not for you, hold onto your money for a year and stop thread crapping.

I've pre-ordered everything. BF4 Digital Deluxe and full Premium, same as I did for BF3. :)

At least it was my parent's money back then! :D

Honestly, you're right. I did the math in my head and realized this is the only FPS game I will need for over a year with Premium. Easy purchase at that point.

All this preorder shit is nonsense. They want you to pre-purchase expansion packs before the fucking game is even out?

EA and those who support its bullshit are whats wrong with gaming.

This. All the people balking at $60 or $48 for a freaking new Battlefield are clearly people that haven't played BF before, because anyone that's a veteran of these games is likely to put hundreds or even thousands of hours into the vanilla maps alone, so the buy-in price for two years of multiplayer gaming is relatively insignificant. If you really get good at the game then this can easily become all you'll want to play.

Its probably better that the casuals that see this title through the lens of "this week's AAA game I know nothing about but saw a cool trailer for and want to add to my library games as close to $5 as possible and then never play it " don't even bother with it. Seriously. Wait for the humble bundle in 2015.

Totally agree with this. I put in over 700 hours into BF3. If Bf4 is a good game, then I am going to play it for a long time. I am not likely to buy any other game at full price, so if this is a purchase I am going to make every 2-3 years, then $60 is not bad entertainment value at all.

If you don't like the extra shit, don't buy it? It's not rocket science.

I'm pre-loaded and ready to go. [Joe Swanson] BRING IT ON!!! [/Joe Swanson]

Thats the problem, no one actually likes it. They just accept it now. It's still fucking bullshit.

$100 bucks spent on the game up front and playing it for two years comes out to roughly $.28 cents a day. Not to bad over a two year period.

BattleCandy Crush 4. PTW and DLC available day one. Everything EA touches turns to shit. Even the new Plants vs Zombies is full of PTW crap.

I could have sworn BF3 came out only a year ago. Damn, where's the time gone?

My problem with all the neckbeards on here complaining about the price of games.....is I can't help but think then MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T BE SPENDING MONEY ON GAMES IF $100 BREAKS THE BANK FOR YOU.

Seriously!??! If $60 vs $48 is enough for you to come on the internet and complain, then rethink your financial situation or STFU.

Well I know I'm going to get a 1000+ hours on this game so I don't think I can complain much about the price.

great post, completely agree.

Funny how these neckbeard basement dwellers complaining about "pre-order" lulz

I paid 110$CAD back in the days (Canadian money) for Waverace 64.. IN STORE that was the price!

Preorder secure them some money in advance for doing the extra maps, hardcore player will buy them. I mean it's no different than to pay 13$ per month for WOW i know some people that have been player for 5 years.. and still play to this day..
