I remember there was a thread for the titan which helped me and quite a few snag the cards when they were in stock. Figured this thread could help the [H] community get there hands on these new hot cakes :p

Amen. I've contacted Amazon for the past two days and they couldn't give me any details on when they will be getting their shipments... I refresh their page and NewEgg about every hour to check for stock...

I got 1 yesterday on the egg, by sheer accident.

They got nothing at all today.

Don't go near Tiger......I ordered yesterday when the site said they had 20 on hand.....received a confirmation almost immediately, then about two hours later had to find out manually that my order was "backordered" indefinately.....needless to say I canceled.

I don't even know anywhere else that has had any for sale this week?

Just ordered an Asus GTX780 DCu2 open box from Newegg for $486 shipped. No 290x instock again so fuck AMD. For $486, Im sure Ill be more than happy with the performance :D Have been waiting on buying a used GTX780 just to buy a 290x but alas, no stock anywhere :(

card just launched yesterday, holy shit dude, overreact much?

i'm selling my two 7970s and gonna grab a single 290x with a waterblock

Over-react? Hows that? Because they released a card and have next to nothing in stock besides the occasional card?

To boot, AMD is having problems supplying to companies so aftermarket cooled cards wont be here for another couple months its looking like.

Atleast we know why they delayed. I dont feel its over-reacting at all. AMD made all this hype, even talked about a pre-order that never happened 3 weeks ago, and have no supply of cards. It helped that I got a great deal on a 780, enough so that I can be happy going that route.

I sort of have to agree here.
This was hyped up the rear end for the last two or three weeks, all the tech conferences and new additions.....
then AMD releases a few thousand copies....maybe less......what are they waiting for.....they are in business to sell product, right?

if the supply was so pathetic, they should have delayed until they could launch properly.

I now understand why they didnt launch the 290 plain at the same time.

You can get one on eBay for a slick 800.......

There was no delay. They never specified a date.

Where do you people comeup with this stuff?

Wow. So so lucky :)

That's a heck of a deal assuming the card is fully functional. Congrats!

The preorder did happen in Europe. The problem was the two vendors in the US that were going to do pre-orders could not because their systems didn't allow it when a set price is not in place. AMD didn't want to reveal pricing weeks before launch to keep Nvidia in the dark, especially since they knew a Nvidia event was occurring before the launch of the 290x.

I ordered mine from Newegg as soon as it was available. Got a Sapphire BF4 edition with a 5% off coupon. I ordered it before I read a single official review based on the released specifications and what seemed like a great price compared to Nvidia Titan pricing.
I quickly ordered an EK acrylic/copper block from frozen CPU as well.

GGot my 290x literally 1 hour ago and installing as we speak. Let me know how the water cooling goes. I might put mine on a separate loop.

bah. came here to post that Sapphire cards are in stock at newegg. they sold out between the time i noticed it and me opening this thread.

And this is about the 290/290x not about you whining.

Saw that, too.

Looking for another for Crossfire......must have been available for like 60 seconds.

If you notice, every card that has been on sale at newegg, except the HIS has been the bundled GPU.
Only one not yet sold is the ASUS, so that should be up next, if my theory is correct......all 12 of them should go in about 5 seconds.

The titan stock seemed to trickle in and out initially. Seems like the same is true about these cards. Keep checking guys I'm sure you will get it sooner rather than later. Just wish Newegg had Saturday pickup :/

I had ordered one of the MSI 290x from Tiger. Never received an order confirmation. Apparently they had put my order on hold because of some Public Information system had a weird number for my name? What the heck? Needless to say, now that I cleared it up, no card available. Not very happy :(

Tiger Direct seems like a shit hole when it comes to new GPU releases.

I've also had bad experiences with online orders at Tigerdirect. Their online system will state something is in stock when it actually isn't - and often times, they will still authorize a charge on your CC.

I would not order from Tiger again, to be honest, ever again. For me it's only newegg and amazon. Perhaps NCIX once in a blue moon.

Well I had to RMA my Sapphire 290X because of coil whine and artifacting in Windows 8/Games. Newegg said they most likely will just give me a refund since availability isn't very good.

WIth that in mind, I managed to order an XFX 290X from Amazon (when I placed the order they still had 4 left in stock), and it's "preparing for shipment" already so I'll have it Tuesday.

Do you have the link for that specific item?

They held my money on a cancelled order for almost 2 months. Even Google trusted services had a tough time getting my money back.

It was posted earlier in this therad:

I'm not entirely sure if it's the BF4 edition since that would make it $10 cheaper than every other retailer, but XFX isn't selling non-BF4 editions yet. Guess we'll know on Tuesday.

Great, thanks. I'll keep monitoring that page too.

All these horror stories about tiger are worrisome. I usually try and buy my expensive computer gear from them as they don't charge California sales tax which is almost 10% :/

I had the same experience.
Ordered XFX. Got confirmation. 2 hours later, backorder.
Now we have it....oops....sorry....but we'll take your money.
Fortunately....paypal....cancelled with them and the CC company.
Not going there again. They arent very together. But they like your money.

Hey thanks Burning Grave.........Yahoo!!!!

Only downer.....we pay sales tax on Amazon.....$48 worth......oh well......got free shipping.:D

When I ordered......6 left to grab......didn't see anything about BF4 in the box however.
