hell yeah.. you really fulfill your name fanboy =D. excelent benchmark btw.. so powerfull card

Is this supposed to mean that Hawaii is very fast, or that quad SLI sucks? Both?

I'm not going to be surprised when it comes out and is better than Titan. 4x is just AMD spewing fud. Maybe the guy who was in charge of Bulldozer marketing got this guy's twitter password.

Don't know how that's possible.

It's marketing as usual. Slides from AMD claim Hawaii is 5 TFlops of compute power. Nvidia Titan is getting somewhere around 1.3-1.5. 1.3 x 4 = 5.2. Mind you, its all theoretical numbers, but I can see where AMD marketing (who have zero concept of real world) got their numbers from. I also don't believe the theoretical compute power of a chip will directly correlate to FPS in games.

Could it be faster than a single Titan? Sure.
Could it even be twice as fast as a single Titan? Maybe.
Could it be 4x as fast as a Titan in games? I sincerely doubt it, even under the most ideal conditions.

We can only wish...lol. If it were true, then get ready for a $5000 AMD GPU. :p

Maybe Hawaii is sold in parts. Like its actually a quad pcb GPU. When you buy 1 for $600, you are actually just buying 1/4 of the "full experience".

How about that ROY?

Unless Mantle gives the R9 a huge boost and cripples the Titan yeah, hard to see this happening

Good numbers. Its clearly so much faster based on empirical evidence offered.

The guy in the video say this is CX R9 290X running Dirt 3 in Eyefinity on 3 /4k's so maybe Roy knows more then you think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR1Cy75DOXE

this guy in the video say this is Tri-Fire 7970 Running Dirt 3 in Eyefinity on 3: 4Ks at 62-67FPS average with peak over 70FPS (12K dirt 3 60FPS@11520x2160) ->Entire Story

so why should I be impressed for a pair of R9 290X Running Dirt 3 at 11520x2160??..:eek:  I guess the guy in microsoft know more then you think?.. ;)

If the 290x is faster by a good margin and cheaper than a Titan then AMD deserves a cookie imo.

Doesn't look like it to me. I don't see anything that would even hint that it was supposed to be a joke.

1. It's on twitter not on an official press release or any other official document or article.

2. Only one guy is saying it, not AMD as a whole.

3. Another guy lol'd at the comment.

Titan's theoretical compute power is actually a claimed 4.5 Tflops vs 5Tflops for the 290x. So the claims would not be based on those numbers.

Scaling issues would not need a single card to be 4x faster than a Titan to match Quad Titans in SLI.

The actual video and setup in the original tweet is running higher than 4k (3x30 inchers at 2560x1600 running in portrait).

I've found videos of lesser setups playing it at 4k (actual 4k) such as a GTX 780.

So the likelihood is a 290x can play it at 4k but so can a lot of other setups lower than 4xTitans. So the statement could be technically true, in this case they can both play at 4k, but doesn't really tell you the whole story.

Jacob's video looks like some of the effects are not shown like the smoke and trash flying around.. I don't know.

you really fulfill your name fanboy =D

I have 5 Nvidia cards and 1 AMD card so if you say so.

Could be possible with mantle running. Could double the performance of the video card while running with mantle. Have to see though.

This.

Joke.

I know the tech community is a bit socially awkward, but c'mon people! Learn to understand competitive banter! Are you all as emotionally devoid as 'Sheldon Cooper'? This is the technological equivalent of a 'yo mamma' joke.

"Ha, BF4 runs awesome on 4 titans!"

"Yo mamma runs awesome on my Titan!"

Sorry, I just skimmed it and threw some numbers together quickly...just like a marketing rep would. ;)

Good find DASHIT..

(Hawaii is soo powerful it is be capable of operating my toilet)

I'm a plumber so yes it could do that.. as all it would have to do is send a signal to it (as to make it flush).

Hawaii is more powerful than Chuck Norris.

Giraffes where created when Hawaii uppercut a horse.

Really eh? Only a handful of people seem to realize it.
If Amd did release such a powerful card, they be ahead of Nvidia for all of next year easy.
