Game of Thrones - PC

Saw this coming to Steam a couple months ago and thought it might be pretty cool. Love the TV series.

So I played it yesterday....

Genre on Steam says Action RPG. I'm not a super fan of RPG's but I enjoy them every once in awhile. Opening sequence was interesting, character creation looked semi-detailed.

Controlling your character is cumbersome as all hell. Its 3rd person but its not free look. You have to hold the right mouse button down to move the camera.

Fighting is also click based. This is what turned me completely off. I think I could have sucked up everything else, but click based fighting? I dont find it the slightest bit exciting at all.

Too bad, I was hoping to run into some of the characters from the game. Guess I wont know. Quit 10 mins in.
 
Seems like you didn't know what a ARPG was before you bought??? lol.

Diablo, PoE, Torchlight, Titan Quest, are ARPGs.

I believe Guild Wars 2, will most likely be very popular and succesful, has the same camera aspect. So maybe this is just something you are not used to in RPGs. And curious as to what you mean by "click based fighting?"
 
Click based meaning I click an icon, and he swings his sword once. Not really my type of game. Too bad the screenshots and videos on steam didnt portray this.

Yea, now that I looked at Skyrim's Genre its just "RPG". Guess I didnt realize there was a difference. I think i coulda dealt with the clunky camera. The clicking based fighting just isnt for me. :(

So you mean like an MMO?

I didn't even think Steam had gameplay videos.

I'm interested in this game because I like Game of Thrones, however I'm not overly interested in RPGs with boring arse combat systems.
 
10 bucks on sale today. Any other opinions? Steam forum comments say clunky combat but good story.
 
$10 is still too much

Dragon Age 2 > Game of Thrones game

and that's saying something
 
i bought the game from a humble bundle for a buck, game story good?
 
95% of games made about movies suck, and are just a cash grab by some shitty publisher. no big surprise there.
 
The Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2 is awesome, although the last I played it was still somewhat unstable.
 
its slow and the camera angle sucks......i uninstalled it already.
