Legit Reviews has the Corsair Hydro Series H100i on the test bench today. For comparison purposes, you can see our evaluation here.

Corsair’s Hydro Series Extreme Performance H100i CPU Cooler was great to work with. There isn’t really much to stay about it aesthetically, but the build quality and materials used were great. Installation was made very easy, and we had no pinching hoses due to the low permeability tubing used and leaks were non-existent. The added LED system on the water block itself may be gimmicky for some, but I think it was a very nice added feature.

Nice indeed that LED. I should have gotten this one instead of the h110, performance is quite similar. Besides I had to do a lot of modding in my case.

even with the similar performance, still the H110 its better at a much lower noise level. if you are in a quiet room the H100i could be very loud even at balanced mode profile.

about the Topic what i do not like its the fact that they do not make any kind of test with the 4770K overclocked...

I like my h80i. My case is very strange and the h80i is all I can fit in there.

The h110 looks cool. Wish they made an h110i. Might make me buy a case that I could fit it in.

Why is this being posted now? As it is almost a year late. The H100i came out in 10/11-2012 of last year.

Review sites are making new base lines to test later with newer products testing 4770K and 4930K. Whats the science of test any good cooler without any baseline to compare?. Thats why review sites are making new reviews including newer chips than a 2600K and 3770K wich are the most popular.

The cooler wasn't great on the older cpus though. So doing it over with a hotter running chip actually is null now. Wasn't good on the old test and isn't good on the new test.

How is a cooler that runs and potentially exceeds the performance of the best air coolers considered not great?

I guess it is great with a push and pull set up and all the noise it produces. If you are happy with then so be it. I rather have my pc silent and still cools good myself.

I'm thinking about getting one of these for my ESXi box. Anyone have opinions on the noise with it running on low speed (most of the time)?

If it was me and you are dead set on getting one. Buy a fan controller for it. That way you avoid the max fan speed at boot and you can keep it dead set with the fan controller.
