Steam 2013 summer sale is here!

Guys probably a game collector as well as game card collector.

I'm a game collector too but $200 dollars is a lot for a cheapo digital distribution sale. You don't even get to decorate your shelf with digital games like this, very not ideal for collectors like myself - buy retail.

Ha, just made $1.12 selling my leftover cards from the sale. Suckers!

bought only 1 ''game''

prison architect... bullfrog oldschool management game. 20$

oh and i gave one to a friend... called... argh i dont remember... 7.49 it was

Gifted RPG maker to my buddy and earned 4 cards... all 4 of them were the same, WTF is up with that!!??!! Sold them already but not for huge markup, seems the .17 to .20 mark was easy to sell.

In for quite a few games...

Dark Souls
FTL
Sleeping Dogs
Tomb Raider
Hitman Absolution
The Witcher 2
Fez
Nba 2k13
Dust
Dishonored & Knife of Dunwall DLC
Castle Crashers
Mark of the Ninja
Rage
Anno 2070 Complete x2 (one for wife)
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Sonic All-star Racing Transformed
Super Meat Boy (for wife)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD

Which is funny, because going into the sale I was really only planing on getting Dishonored. Instead, I actually almost entirely cleared out my Wishlist...

Ditto, large portion of my purchases was clearing out my wish list. I only have 2 games left on there and that is mostly because I thought the deals on them wasn't that great or I just didn't feel for that game at the time.

Let me know how that one works out for you. ;)

Why, issues with Vista, 7 and 8? Mostly just bought that one cause it was on sale and I would have all the Far Cry games.

oh and i gave one to a friend... called... argh i dont remember... 7.49 it was

I keep searching and can't find that one anywhere in the store. Sounds kinda fun, do you play as a character with amnesia?

/shrug

I kept mine.... let's see what the OCD crowd does.

I thought about that about 4 minutes after selling my extras. Still got the badge and a few bucks in my pocket from buying/selling the cards. I honestly have no idea which way they'll go (cheap because everyone is offloading, overpriced due to lack of supply), but I'll be watching for the inevitable winter sale cards.

Not sure what I spent, but I bought:

Bastion
Dishonored
Fallout New Vegas
Final Fantasy 7
Tomb Raider
Tropico 4
KOTOR 2
Torchlight 2
Universe Sandbox

I would like to thank all the poor souls who failed the Steam IQ test and decided to purchase new games for me.

Nah, no issues. I just made a tongue-in-cheek remark because FC2 is almost universally hated on this forum. I actually like some aspects of it, but there's no denying that it could have been so much better if some different design choices had been made (if you haven't read much about it, you'll see what I mean when you play it). Its biggest problem is that it bears the Far Cry name and was such a letdown after people expected a better Far Cry 1. Not only is 1 more fun, 2 had nothing to do with 1 so many feel it should have been titled something else entirely. But it's OK because FC3 went a long way toward redeeming the series!

So far what I spent, list below for Steam and Amazon also didn't show greenmangaming only two games.

DUKE 3D
DOOM III:BFG
Skyrim: Dragonborn DLC
Sniper Elite Nazi Zombies
Worms Revolution
Surgeon Sim 2013
System Shock 2
Retro City Rampage
Half Life: Source(I already knew this wasn't an improvement on HL1 from past experience but I just wanted it)

Might look a bit lack luster but I'm happy to get these into my game collection.

Give us some specific examples of what they would have needed to do in order to please you.

sure...

Skyrim vanilla for <$15 since the game has been out for 1.5 fucking years now
Kerbal for <$10...I ended up caving and buying it anyways.

I would have liked to have seen both Arkham games in a cheaper combo as well. None of these are new games by any stretch and should be priced accordingly. Kerbal is by no means AAA and should have easily been less than $10.

I have no interest in buying bullshit $3 games I won't play. People here tend to buy shit for the sake of buying it bc its a Steam sale. Honestly you guys with a couple hundred games do you really think you'll play some random bullshit you bought on sale 4 summers ago? You want to collect games, and I want to play them.

Steam
The Witcher 2
Tomb Raider ROW
Fallout 3 - Game of the Year
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate
Dishonored (ROW)
Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

GMG
The Walking Dead

All total I spend about $55, so for the price of one new game at release I got 8 games. Some of which are going to be major time sinks like Fallout 3.

Strike Suit Zero Mega Bundle
Risen 2 Gold
Music Creator 6 Touch, Music Creator Expansion Pack - Guitars, Music Creator 6 Expansion Pack - Steinway Grand Piano, Music Creator 6 Expansion Pack - World Instruments, Music Creator 6 Expansion Pack - Vintage Keyboards, Music Creator Expansion Pack - Modern Strings
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate
Deadlight
Hitman Absolution
The Witcher 2
I Am Alive
Tomb Raider ROW
Sleeping Dogs
Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition

Amazon

Sniper Elite V2

Btw the Cakewalk stuff was an amazing deal. I like this Steam software thing now. Saved me hundreds.

Game wise so many awesome deals this time. Best Sale in a while.

I guess my biggest gripe comes from the fact that I already have so many games. I buy nearly every humble bundle and they throw a lot of good indie games in those.

They went up a little bit since yesterday. I sold a card for 12 cents earlier in the sale, sold the same card for 20 cents today.

I didn't get to sell my cards during the sale because of some account restriction. How does selling work? Does it come as steam credit?

Yeah, you name your price and put it up on the Steam Market. If someone buys it, you get money in your Steam wallet.

I ended up getting:

Dishonored + DLC
Tomb Raider + DLC
The Walking Dead + DLC
Assassin's Creed, AC2, AC Revelations, AC Brotherhood (All deluxe or gold editions)

Spent under $60 and have a ton of new (to me anyway) games to play.

Kinda bummed I missed Batman: Arkham City and the Alan Wake collection. I was slacking this year on the steam sale, didn't even realize it was going on until it was almost over.

Easy there slugger- it doesn't matter what you think the game SHOULD be priced. Just because Skyrim's been out a year and a half, so what. Its not cheaper because it doesn't need to be -- thank all the people paying more than you're willing because they're the ones to blame. Supply and demand, FTL. Not a very hardthink concept.

My haul. I made out like a bandit :D

Retro City Rampage
Arma II: Combined Operations (NA)
Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package
Just Cause
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate
Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gold
Sleeping Dogs DLC Collection
3DMark Advanced
Unreal Deal
Deus Ex Collection
Dishonored (ROW)
Doom 3: BFG Edition
Darksiders II - Season Pass
Darksiders II
Section 8
Cities XL Platinum
Left 4 Dead 2

Skyrim has been cheaper other places, I picked it up for about $10 recently so Steam(Bethesda) didn't even match previous sales on the game. Personally I think we can mainly thank Bethesda pushing the recently released GOTY version for the lack of price drops on the vanilla game and DLCs. I also think that ES games have a longer life cycle than most games because of modding so that might be part of the reason as well.

I bit myself, Saturday or Sunday, I think Gamefly had the Skyrim Legendary Edition for $26. Since I bought it on Steam the second time it went on sale for $35. I had told myself I would hold out until it was $20, oh well.

TOTAL Spent $80.58

Borderlands 2 DLC $11.30
Sleeping Dogs DLC $8.90
RAGE The Scorchers DLC $1.24
XCOM Enemy Unknown & XCOM: Enemy Unknown DLC $12.97
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing & Van Helsing: Blue Blood $9.48
Euro Truck Simulator 2 $9.99
Poker Night 2 & The Swapper $9.98
Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon $6.74
Little Inferno & Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gold DLC $7.49
Mini Motor Racing $2.49

There seem to have been a lot of chances to get Alan Wake for a pretty good deal lately, I'm sure one will pop up again soon.

We should have a contest here and give some kind of prize to whoever buys the most games during this sale.
Some of you are crazy!
For me:
Torchlight II
Batman Arkham city GOTY
System Shock 2
Unreal Deal
Portal 2
Fallout New Vegas
Sim City 4 Deluxe
Hotline Miami
Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY

All together around $45.....Can't buy a XBONE game for that! Bwahahahahaha!

since skyrim legendary is back up to $59, i feel good about getting it for $35 on the steam sale =)

Summer may be over but the poop sale has just begun!

Take calling your friends full of crap and pooping on threads to the next level by getting your very own steam poop emoticon. Simply search the steam market for poop.

Or visit http://steamcommunity.com/id/flegg for more information.

I bought:

universe sandbox - $2?

lol, this is the worse steam sale yet. Either games I already have or games I dont want. I bought more from amazon recently than steam lol.

Yes, horrible sale. The rest of us picked up games at $5.00 you paid full price for.

I'm a good year or 2 behind on games, so if it isn't below $10 it doesn't go in my library.

One of the benefits of getting old I guess.
