I think that's why.

Would it be worth upgrading to the 965BE from the Phenom II X4 810 Deneb?

If you are looking to upgrade an older platform on the cheap with CPU only this is a good deal.

This CPU still goes for $100+ easily, used.

You OCing?

Picked up a 965BE on sale recently from ewiz and it hit 4.0ghz no problem on stock voltage. You could probably hit 4.4-4.5ghz with good cooling and higher voltage.

Wife's computer so it isn't a must. But I do currently have her's mounted with CoolerMaster 212Plus on it so OC'ing it would not be an issue.

Just debating on if this is going to give a visible boost for her or not. Her current rig is the 810 Deneb, Sandisk Extreme 240gb SSD, a GTX 460, with 8gb RAM. Yes I know I should probably upgrade her GPU first but I am considering moving up to a 7870 or a 7950 so she would get my 5850 which would still be a step up.

Going from a stock 810 @ 2.6ghz to an OC'ed 965 @ 4ghz+ i would think it would add a nice bump to framerates when you move the 5850 over.

Honestly, this is better than almost any Intel alternative in it's price range.

I've got one of these in my desktop (bought it about 2.5 years ago) and it's been fantastic. So it gets a vote from me. :p
