Hey guys I'm having some weird Xbox Lan Issues with the Asus N66U and I'm totally stumped!

If I have my Xbox plugged into the router by itself there are no issues whatsoever and I am lag free. However, as soon as I have my computer plugged into the router..even if its not downloading anything or doesn't even have a browser open..My Xbox will lag like crazy online.

As soon as I disconnect my computer from the router while playing a match online, the lag disappears and I'm lag free again. So basically until i can figure this out, I have to physically have my computers ethernet cord disconnected from the router in order to play online which is ridiculous.

I have tried updating the nic driver on my pc..switched lan ports for the pc and xbox. Even tried just the xbox directly to my modem and other crap just to rule stuff out. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

You don't have bittorrent or anything on the computer, right? I know you say you're not downloading anything but sometimes it runs in the background.

When both of them are connected, it's only the Xbox that lags? The computer is fine?

What if you start your computer up in safe mode, does the problem happen then, or if it's even shut down?

With your computer running, try pinging the IP of your router with and without the Xbox connected, and then try pinging the Xbox.

There could be a number of things going on here but we'd need to start ruling some of them out in order to figure out what's up.

Something on your PC is saturating your connection, could be a virus, background applications, or perhaps a faulty NIC.

Try connecting your PC via WiFi, if the issue still occurs its software related...if not, get a new NIC.

*Also disable QoS on your router.

I would disable QoS as a testing measure, but otherwise, I'd leave it alone.

Well guys this is crazy but I guess I found the issue...ughhh feel so lame but here goes...

I had logmein running in my system tray and every time I game online with my xbox..I ALWAYS have my pc on. So today I figured you know what?...let me shut that program off and BOOM no lag when both devices are on! The thing that strikes me as odd is that on my old pc, hooked up to my old shitty linksys g router, logmein was always running in the background and I would go online with my xbox and pc just fine.

I don't know if they updated that app to take more bandwidth in the background...but man just turning that off prevented me from throwing this router out the window. I'll update you guys if anything changes..but thank you for your help! :)
