Question on PSU to VC hookup

Raise your hand if you read "Vacuum Cleaner" for the thread title! :D

Are you asking about a dual-4pin Molex (HDD) to single-PCIe 6pin adapter that came with the graphics card? (like in this pic)

If you are talking about them, then you should not need to use either of them, because your power supply is equipped with those exact connectors already. They provide them just in case, which you don't have to worry about. :)

You'll need to take two of these Red cables, which each are "6+2" pin and you'll let the +2 dangle (as it's intended)...

...and plug them into the same Red "VGA#" sockets on the back of the PSU (doesn't matter which, so long as it's Red plugging into Red :D).

From there you'll just connect them both to the graphics card.

However, if your question was just "do cables need to be hooked up to both 6pin sockets on my graphics card", then that answer is: Yes, both need to be plugged in. lol

(Hopefully the photos work, let me know if they don't)

No, I want to know if I can just plug 1x red power cord from the psu that has 2x 2+6 connectors OR.......should I take 2x separate power cords from the psu to the video card?

I know that the video card needs two 2+6 power connectors **LOL**

Hoover....... Nobody, does it like you :)

I understand but i don't know where to get them at . Would make cable management a bit better .

Huh? I have the cables.

I want to know if I can run just "ONE" cable. The "Y" with the 2x 2+6 connectors.

Can my psu handle it? Or do I have to run 2x seperate from the psu?

I think I follow you now... ASCII diagram for confirmation:

And you're wondering if you can use both of the 6pins plugs on a single cable? Yes, you can. You have a quality PSU and so it's cables will be thick enough to supply ample power for a single GPU graphics card.

If it was something like a GTX690 or an HD 7990, I'd mightsay use separate cables, but you're fine in this case. I actually use a single cable to supply both of my HD 5770s and have zero problems.

(If I am still misunderstanding you, I'm sorry haha :()
