80% of GTX 690, 35-40% of GTX 680... $1000. Titan is a failure for my view, the price drags down the new performance and makes it look awful. Rip-off city.

Has the price been confirmed by NV ? Looks more like a 799 card too me.

People told me to go for a 480 when I bought sli 460's
The 460's run cooler, are cheaper and are a fair bit more powerful.
There will be a market.
Go figure

Nvidia would be somewhat justified charging $1000 if it beat the 690...as is it's a $600 card with a $400 markup

It's a $1000.

Sad
Your probably right but I've still have not seen anything official, I'm having a hard time with the whole 1000 thing....maybe they're rationalization is the 6GB of Vram....who knows

If these #'s are right the performance is just not there to charge a grand, also I'm a little pissed off at NV right now...my OC started to fail...couldn't figure out for the life of me what the hell was going until I noticed my vcore.

If I'm going to spend a grand or close to it right now, it wont be for one of these Titanic cards....I will probably get a couple of GHz editions and be happy. I just dont understand what NV are thinking.

Wow I am truly not impressed for $100. Even overclocked cant be a 690 gtx.

Guru3D review numbers, -11.13% average from a 690.

Damn nice for a single GPU... I want one.

Yeah no doubt. The card is a failure @ $1000, 35% more than a GTX 680... lol at that price. What a joke it has turned out to be.

Unless they surprise us with a price tag that's lower than the rumored $900, looks like I'll just be going with a 680 Classified. That kind of performance increase isn't worth anywhere near $300 to me.

10% slower than a 690.... on a single GPU. What a joke your post turned out to be? ;)

Yeah, it's expensive, but if I had the cash handy, I'd be right on it.

Cmon, it is a really good card, single GPU... the only problem is: The price is wrong!

but If they put the price under GTX690's price.. they will kill gtx690's sales and maybe gtx680's as well.

linus (linus tech tips) has the titan at 1600p in crysis 3 pulling 43fps, 7970 37fps

take my money? lol

edit: and farcry 3 at 1600p ultra settings (0xAA), titan pulling 49.7fps, 7970 41.2fps

Is this 7970 Crossfire? Somehow I dont think so.

lol, sounds good. 15% more frames over the $450 for the $1000 one.. hahahha

So 7970 for $400 gets 37fps, Titan for $1000 gets 43fps. Spend $600 for 8fps increase? Dont think so.

I agree, specially when you could easily make up more then 8fps by overclocking.

Love to see a titan go against a 1200-1300mhz 7970. the 7970 might not beat it, but it might come close to performance.

I love TITAN alot...i REALLY FUCKING hate that price. It's not worth it.

Yup. The card itself is awesome but that price tag, horrible buy imo. Go with 7970 Crossfire.

you'd also be on a steaming pile of fresh dog turd if it had an Nvidia logo on it.

The price is spot on actually!

Just watch all the mugs lining up for one. Why sell for less when they can charge a grand and people will still pay?

Supply and demand 101.

True, some of us on here would buy a piece of board for $1000 if NV were to put its logo on it, heck people bought the Titan off eBay for $1600.....can you beat that for stupidity.

Why would NV price it any lower than $1000 if people are willing to get it for that, well I wouldn't be surprised if it was set for $1200 - it will still sell out on every site.

Performance is great (for single a gpu) but not for the price. If the price was at around $600 - I would have pick one up.

I like the idea of running a fast single card vs SLi. But the performance isn't quite on par with SLi or a 690. I would need to buy two of them to actually make it a definitive upgrade over what I have now, and for two of them it is $2000 not including tax. That coupled with the fact there will probably be something faster and cheaper in a year, means I will pass.

I think a more reasonable price for Titan would have been $799.

Oh yeah? Well then with that thinking why don't they price everything at $1000+ and we will see how fast the GeForce brand dies.

nVidia makes their profit from the mobile and mid range market not $1000+ video cards.

That's not the point, the point is people will pay anything for Nvidia's top end card even if it's not worth it.

Well wait till they release the Mega Titan, I bet it'll be $1200 ..lol!

On a serious note, well first you establish a market and then slowly build.
Once you've a dedicated group that will pay whatever for anything you throw at them, that is when you start jacking up prices for no apparent reason, well how much you can price stuff at needs more calculations and data than what the public is privy to (and of course specialized knowledge in that field), but the gist of my post is that when you've a group of blind followers you can get away with any price for your stuff.

Not that I hold anything against NV it’s just how lots of companies operate and the first example that comes to my mind is Apple (- extremely overpriced imho and no I do not want to start a debate here, just stating my opinion) and it just doesn't bother people that they are being ripped off (again just my opinion).

the people who buy a Titan have already made up their minds to buy regardless of what the benchmark numbers show...they will pay whatever Nvidia wants, to have the priviledge of owning this supercompute/gaming card

I wonder how long till they get buyer's remorse? :D

There are quite a few more leaked benchmarks now hitting the web. Basically, if you're just running 1920x1080 (or below), it's barely an upgrade (sans The Witcher 2, Metro 2033, and a few other games) over a 680. But when you start to run higher resolutions, that's where it starts to shine.

Starts to shine? Its getting its ass kicked by 7970 Crossfire and 680 SLi. Both of which are cheaper solutions.

This +1

However, I will try to buy a Titan on day one for ebay. Why should nvidia be the only one to profit? :)

how are you going to profit?...you think someone will pay substantially more then $1000 for this card?
