That's the only reason I've persevered with it for this long. While EA and Activision keep shitting out barely-working annual FPS games with tiny development cycles, no QA and flaky post-launch support besides DLC, it's only going to get worse.
 
Yup. Game and the entire process is dumb. Same as politics, the economy and other things we can't do fuck all about right? I hear you. I honestly do. I just shrug and say fuck it. Wish there was better but it is what we have atm. Maybe I am just getting old but I still can go two or three rounds with the old lady so not that old right?

Just fucking around. My squad was no help at all. I mean totally useless. I got revived twice the entire round. We lost but I still don't give a shit bc I was zapping fools with the L85A2 Laser Rifle.

GJ but you guys need to practice more. It was obvious that there was no coordination done previously and ya'll just showed up and pubbed it. You need to give people assignments and specific jobs. Especially for the start of the match. Strats!!!

but yeah GG always feels good to get a win.
 
There was a lot of coordination (probably 10 scrims as well on that map before hand), we're just bad. :p
 
Add me if you want to pub or need a ringer. I am east coast so it would be nice to play with my neighbors.

On a related note, I just got done upgrading to a 660ti and a 120hz montior. I must give credit to Shiz for turning me on to the 120hz scene. If anyone has any inclination whatsoever to get better at FPS games and improve their performance, a high refresh rate monitor (with the hardware to display it at high FPS) is like freakin' Lance Armstrong roids!! I feel like I need to confess after each match. It's awesome!!

Yeah it is a big step up. Weird huh? The difference b/w the regualr 60 and 120 is supposed to be really tiny in terms of response and a humans ability to react but damn do you own easier with a 120.
 
Interesting about the 120hz as I just picked up the u2713hm as I am moving on from my 3xu2311h setup. My 7970 is dying at native res on ultra...

All us 120 Hz peasants look up to you bro. That's a freaking sweet monitor! I was watching a FRANKIEonPCin1080p episode, I think it was this one and when he was talking about how he just picked up that same 144hz monitor and it really helped improved his aim.

HAHA, I sometimes put "120hz@120fps and fresh teflon mouse feet" in game chat after people call me out for hax. It's funny to see the responses I get.

That u2713hm is one of the best looking large AH-IPS monitors out there. We order them for the programmers in my office. They have 3 on each desk. Awesome image quality and good viewing angles, but not 120hz of course. That's the thing with these new 120hz/144hz, it's hit or miss if your gonna get one with messed up backlight bleeding which makes the blacks look like poo or get one with good enough color quality. I got lucky with my 27" 120hz Samsung 750D no backlight bleeding at all and I really love the glossy screen, for me it's all win since my office very dark and there's no windows so there is no glare at all. The color is super vibrant and very sharp on it, which is what I like when gaming.
 
The u2713hm is great for my current mix of productivity and bf3. I've been using ips/pva for so long, I tried a Samsung 350 series 27" and it was just garbage. I would love to see a 120Hz setup but we have nowhere in charlotte to see anything like that afaik.

I'm about to give up on Battlefield 3. It doesn't matter what server I'm on. It doesn't matter that my ping is 30. I have to empty an entire magazine into people and then its still a crap shoot on weather or not I get the kill. I actually had a moment where I emptied an entire magazine into someone and then half way through the reload sequence it popped up with the kill. If its not the terrible hit registration its me randomly rubber banding for no reason. It could also be the fact that people somehow can kill me in one shot with any weapon, or better yet, they haven't fired at all on my screen. Maybe its the dying 5 feet behind a wall. Its all just so frustrating.

Every once in a while the earth will align just right with some far away star and everything actually plays right. When that happens, the game is a blast. It just seems like it happens one out of every ten times I play. I just reinstalled CS:GO and played for a solid 4 hours without issue. I went back to BF3 just to make sure it wasn't something with my ISP and peak hours. Nope. Still the same shit.

I really wish I could play this game how it was supposed to be played. It really is fun then. Sigh.

Comcast 50/10. As much as I hate to say it because I hate Comcast it's been rock solid.

Edit: I should probably mention that I have played with the network smoothing to no avail. The only thing it does it make my animations jerky if I lower it all the way which is to be expected from what I've read.

Your problem sounds very similar to mine, albeit more extreme. My download speeds are pretty ordinary (600KB/s usually) so I attribute my problem to getting information from the server at a significantly slower rate than other players, even though my ping is 40-60. I often get killed by people in front of me before they actually appear in front of me on my screen. Does it happen on every server or ones with higher player-counts?

I actually spend 95% of my time on 64 player servers. I enjoy them more and that's one of the perks of having the PC version. To be honest its been a while since I've done anything 32 players or less. I should probably play around on them more and see how it is however I feel like I tried that a while ago with no success. I guess there is always the possibility that the severs were crappy.

If it turns out higher populated servers are the issue I'll at least be happy knowing what the issue is. I'd still be ticked off not being able to play the game how I wanted but at least I could still play it like it was meant to be played. Ill have to play around tomorrow night. I should have gone to bed hours ago since I have to help a friend move tomorrow. There's an oatmeal comic that sums up how I feel about that somewhere...

by far one of my worse KDR rounds in Non rush in quite a while

because they were on the other team working as a squad and my team wasnt that good.

Got banned from my favorite scavenger server today, but after talking with the admins over at =W= they decided to let me back in. Actually seem like pretty nice guys over there, just trying to run a really clean server. They prob got a bunch or requests to have me kicked, kept seeing msgs like this all last night and today while in that server.

The best advice I can give here is RECORD EVERY GAME. Seriously. Back when I was actually playing this game several hours a day and rolling with a group on a TS server we had a tendency to really tighten the jaws of madmins to the point of red rage.

There were a number of times where some madmin raged/threw hackusations all round and ultimately banned us, and we turned around and embarrassed the hell out of them by posting a video to the server owner or their associated forum to the point the madmin was squirting tears backpeddling that he was "just kidding" and what have you. Good times.

Looking back on that, what silliness and a waste of time but having a recording in your backpocket can come in handy nevertheless. Set up DXTORY to record straight to x264 so that you dont have to transcode giant raw video caps later, then you can document every game since filesizes will be small.

yeah so the game was buggier and less stable today than I have seen since the alpha days. truly strange lag, freezes, crashes and bugs on your damn bugs. wow. Dunno why so bad now but it seems like nothing gets fixed and shit just gets more broken.
 
Initial 144hz screen impressions...

I'd say it improves my performance by 10%. Staying on target is slightly easier. Improves my accuracy noticeably and just as importantly it reduces my ammo-to-kill ratio.

I got banned there aswell. I went something like 27-2 and they banned me for that alone...Got killed lots, but with a team of medics...
