EZ-RJ45:
I like them because you can pull the wires through the connector, and then the crimpers shear them off. I love being able to pull the outer jacket well into the termination housing. Normally it is very easy to see that you wired the connector correctly, but not so easy when all of the 'stripe' wires are solid white. The terminations come in 5e, 6 and shielded, and you can get strain reliefs for them.

Yep, and as an added bonus. Its near impossible to screw up the crimp. I have never, ever had one fail as long as the crimper was maintained with a new blade every now and then. It's the same crimp, every time.
Always seemed a bit more costly, but worth it. I am ordering a kit for work and a jug of ends. We used to use these ends that came in 3 different pieces, then a metal shield. I failed a crimp atleast 75% of the time.
Finally got around to cleaning up the last of the messy closets. This is a MDF for a middle school and it is also the core of the school district network.
The before pictures.
The middle school MDF contained a Catalyst 4507R, Catalyst 2948G (in prod. since 1999)
and 2 Catalyst 3560 POE. The network core was a Catalyst 6513.
The aftermath:

The MDF now contains 6 Catalyst 3750X switches with dual 10G uplinks
The core is now a Catalyst 6509E with dual Sup2T, dual 10G blades and a 24 port 1G blade.

Quite a few places sell them, just search for cat 5 load bars and you'll get a bunch of places you can get them from.
Man that is a nice cleanup there..
Have a small update as well.. Cisco 3560e 10 gig switches. Some iSCSI goodness to be had.
i keep looking at this photo....trying to figure out where the hell you plug cables into...maybe it't just too early.
nvm: just googled - appears like there's a flap/door next to each vent.
Correct the plate comes out and then the 10g x2 module plugs into them... The x2's haven't shipped yet unfortunately.
Cost...
iSCSI was here before the rest of us were. I have a feeling we'll be migrating this into DR and then putting something nice in here, probably fiber attached

Newest version of my home setup.
Short-depth wall-mount rack.
Dell 2724 Switch
2x Hyper-V 2012 Hosts
APC 1500 (behind blank plate at the bottom)
What are the chains for? Is the rack suspended from the ceiling? Why?
It's to improve the load rating for the front of the rack. (since everything is front mount only)
The rack is a wall mount, but it is mainly made for lighter telco gear. It works great for these servers and such, but I wanted a little extra insurance.
APC XS-1300, typical running load is about 27W... so I get about 110-120 mins of runtime.

You've been pretty non-existent lately... You opinion wasn't able to be tossed into the pot.. All though I agree, but came down to money.

4500x-16 would likely be cheaper when you factor optics (SFP+ is cheaper than X2, and Twinax would obviously be cheaper when you factor in the OneX adapter) and shit in. Also a much, much better switch.

Are you going to fully populate the UCS chassis?, if so, what weight is the floor rated for?

This is for a customer. Also, that isn't the final resting place, it's just an IDF so we can stage it before shipping it to the DC. The floor isn't my concern, we tell the customer what they need and they're responsible for it.
