I used my AMD promo code for Far Cry 3...got an invoice from UBgarbageSoft but no download link or serial key for the game!!!!!!!!!!

Give them some bloody time. The first email is an order confirmation since technically you bought it from their store. If you had the key and had used it prior to today you would already have your key and links.

I just got the same email. Which was a response from friday when I entered the code. Still no access to the game, which I should have had, on Friday, when I entered the promo code........

So yeah, ubisoft has a horrible interface. Especially for the "free" games it appears. I had to use IE 7, yes that is internet explorer from 2007 to get the ubisoft website to accept the promo code.

Yeah so, yeah. They are not good imo.

I got my Far Cry 3 code today. Had zero problems entering anything into their website with Chrome.

I used an old Ubisoft ID from 2006 and got the CD key emailed to me after about 10 minutes. The download link was in the original internet browser confirmation link. I had to use IE9 as Firefox would crash right after I entered the Samsung promotion code. 9 Gig download averaged about 4 megabytes per second. It seems playable on medium settings at 5200x1050 on a single 6970.

It is some random error with their system. See the below explanation from support.

What I have found is that there was an issue with how the order connected to the Digital River download servers and it is not fully complete. This is why it did not offer a download or activation key for the purchase. The problem has been escalated and they think that they have found the issue and it should be repaired soon. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

DigitalRiver fucked something up? What a shock! DigitalRiver is god damn horrible. They somehow managed to royally screw up shipping copies of Darksiders 2 to customers, so much so that it forced THQ to give people free copies of the game. Beyond that, keys were screwed up for both it and Saint's Row 3. Not to mention various Origin server problems. DR needs to go.

As a thank you, Ubisoft is giving you UPlay as a special bonus. Enjoy!

There is nothing really wrong with UPlay. It works fine, it doesn't get in the way, and it appears to have a functioning offline mode. Also the user interface is very good.

I didn't buy the game or use a promo code and refuse to deal with Ubisoft. No problems so far.

Yeah I think we can safely blame digital river on this one. I have some experience with such issues. Usually it is some wtf? piece of code lodged back in the who knew that was there region. Bad code built on bad code equals this shit.

Oh lord, Digital River. :(

Man, this kind of nonsense is why I haven't bothered to switch from Trackmania United to Trackmania 2. I want nothing to do with Ubisoft.

I do not know why so many gaming companies use Digital River, I have never ONCE heard a positive thing about them.

I was one of the unlucky few with the Darksiders 2 mix up also.

Not to mention they have one of the worst websites in terms of providing customers with clear information about their orders, tracking, ship dates, etc.

Lets just hope digital river goes down the rapids without a paddle, or boat or float and is afixed with some lead weights and hears banjo's playing, pigs squealing, etc. good times.

The game gets tied to your ubisoft account. Which you can download from uPlay. I dont think downloading from the uPlay client has restrictions like using the direct digital river download.

I also had to use IE to get my key to work. Firefox wouldn't work.

I bet you don't same the same about Origin. Even tho there is nothing wrong with it :p

You might want to ask before making judgments. I've defended Origin quite a bit. Origin's UI is terrible, but over-all it's fine. It's about the only reliable DigitalRiver run service. Both it and UPlay have server issues thanks to DR.

I am also experiencing a problem with the promo code. I placed the order and their system accepted the code but later cancelled and I never received an email to confirm the purchase or the cancelling of it. I've been dealing with Ubisoft tech support trying to get it sorted it out and get a cd key but the furthest that I have got is they confirmed that the problem lay in their system. Apparently there is queue on issues for this game and my ticket is in limbo with no ETA on a resolution.

I started this fun trip down the rabbit hole last Wednesday and there is no end in sight. I am not a happy with this but it just reminds me why I normally go to Steam to get my games. Not saying that Steam is perfect but they have their system in order.

if only every game dev/distributor made their own service... i'd be in heaven. the world is too big for just steam and origin.

I gotta admit. I was afraid of using that Uplay crap.

IMHO its way better then origin...

I feel more secure using Origin...atleast with their customer service if you complain enough you can get a free game or discount code out of them.

Of course ubi soft screwed you over - they are ubi soft. That's what they do. I've boycotted all of their products since 2002, which was the year i bought my very first ubi soft game ever. It was obvious to me even 10 years ago they are a pathetic trashy company.

Read the thread. It's not Ubisoft causing the issue, it's DigitalRiver.

Ubisoft should just be boycotted until they improve the endings for their games. Mass Effect 3 gets universally panned for it's endings, but bad endings from Ubisoft have been common since 2003 with Rayman 3.

Derpty Derp I did read the entire thread. I'm not talking about Digital River read the thread title before posting next time.

That's not the point...it's still UBIsoft's problem.

Response I got today:

Ubi...Well everyone needs to ditch DigitalRiver. I wonder if there are any better solutions out there though that wouldn't be enormously expensive. I'd love to see EA and Ubi both create their own network, but the cost for that would be insane.
