Best IE Hater Ad Ever

It has improved dramatically
but
I lock it down when not in use and use it soley for backup browsing, when all others fail.

Call me when ie gets equal functional versions of adblock plus and noscript, then we'll talk

IE is the best windows 8 browser at the current moment. Has the best multi touch support period.

I mostly use Waterfox even though I never was a Firefox fan. I still have chrome installed but I find myself using it less and less.

IE isn't useable for me due to lack of plugins and adblock.

No need for 3rd party apps, just a 3rd party list, which you can pick up easily at:
http://www.iegallery.com/en-us/trackingprotectionlists
Q7A4q

As far noscript, all you do is change your default internet security setting turning off anything you don't like. And simply use trusted sites for sites you commonly visit/do like.

Oh yeah and IE10 finally implements a native spellchecker although it doesn't care for contractions. As well as updates the security for saved passwords via the new credential manager which probably wont stop a person who has your computer from just going on your email, but it will stop a hacker from getting your password easily.

This is MSoft using the Bugs Bunny marketing strategy, ...where the world is standing over his hole with pitchforks and torches wanting to kill the wabbit, and he shows up in the crowd cheering it on "Yeah, kill that wabbit, he sucks ass, string him up.... doc.":cool::p

Who gives a shit if you don't have a touch capable machine.

Well, he did qualify his statement on a touch basis, implying you already shouldn't give a shit if you don't have a touch capable machine..

Good ad for making fun of internet trolls, but it doesn't do anything for improving my opinion of IE.

That's nice and all but it still doesn't block ads.
I've tried 3rd party apps that block ads but none of them (at least the decent ones) are free.

The only good thing about this video is that Microsoft is at least listening to all the complaints about the web browser. Especially the part where it's the best browser to download other browsers.

But yea no it sucks.

The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem. I use Chrome, it's not like I hate IE just because I hate IE, it has been a standards dodging incompatible pain in the ass for years. Nice commercial.

Right now the browsers of choice are Chrome and FireFox. Simply because those browsers are on any platform you can think of. Android, Linux, and even Windows. Also being able to block ads is a nice feature to have.

IE10 being cater made for Windows 8 isn't awarding any brownie points either.

It's only funny because at the end microsoft admits no one likes their trash but should give them another shot after 10+ years of using alternative browsers.

Just shows how little you tried, you block most common ads off the 2 fanboy lists provided at http://www.iegallery.com/en-us/trackingprotectionlists and if you're really adamant about blocking ads why don't you use a HOSTS file or PAC, which is free and is independent of browsers. It blocks ads if it's on the list, it doesn't block if it's not on the list it's simple as that. =p You don't seem to get what a list is, you can be extreme and block as many ads with broad definitions in a list but then you risk breaking things that aren't ads.

Valve should do the same commercial for Steam...

Why? Steam still sucks balls.

I mean, it's nice until you need support. Then you're so SOL it's not even funny - especially when you have lots of dough invested on games and suddenly your account is banned or something.

If only the fonts looked as good/smooth as that on IE10/Windows 8 in real life.

And of course, people still talk smack about it, even after 10 years of not using IE. In other words, they don't have a effing clue if it is really improved or not, but they still think they're right because hey, they always are.

Just like those who hate Windows 8 without using it. Or those professionals we see every now and then stuck on the ice age who refuse to try anything new.

Amusing, but am I going to go download 10 and fuck around with changing browsers now as a result? No.

I installed Server 2012 on my computer.. and while IE9 worked good for pretty much everything, IE10 has given me soo much trouble I am using Chrome right now.

Some web pages just won't load... at all. Other web pages come up super slow.

I only install SR Iron on my servers. I leave IE as it is.

Brilliant ad. :D

Still don't like IE, but I still found the ad quite entertaining.

This. These kinds of ads may get attention, but they still don't actually give anyone any reason to try the product.

So IE sucks less.

That means it still sucks.

Thanks but no thanks Microsoft!

Guilty.

First: its too long (at least for true IE haters).
Second: its too short. No true troll would give up while there were still hot pockets left to eat:)
Third: I can't tell the desktop. IE ads will assume there can only be Windows, but it really needs a gnome2 desktop. I assume that MS won't allow any attacks on windows especially considering just how much of a pain Metro can be.
Fourth: IE sucks. Sucking less than firefox (without the benefit of all those mods) isn't a good enough reason to use it. Use chrome if you don't care so much for the mods.

IE has security flaws, but as for the burn it with a torch attitude, it just isn't necessary. This Ad wasnt all that funny, I use IE at work all day and never have I had issues that make despise it.

yes it does, and surprisingly far far far less than firefox! :D

That was the utmost retarded video ever :) So people according to MS just waste their time on the net saying that Internet Exploder sucks.

I can tell MS in all honesty IE doesn't use as long as you don't use it ;) .

Security flaws, more or less kernel access is the problem. But if MS is so convinced about their browser I'm sure that Linux and MAC users will just flock to IE once it becomes available on those platforms.

Maybe they can start charging money for it as well and sell it as a standalone product :) GO MS GO!

Nice ad, and I will admit the newer versions of the browser have been getting better, but I don't think I'll be switching back anytime soon.

Hah, nice post, enjoyed the video. Its interesting in that its pretty honest with itself, IE as been pretty bad in the past, but its getting better.
