Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD $55.00!

Did anyone order one, pay and then find out its OOS on the invoice? Same thing happened to me for the Staples deal the other day and live chat couldn't help me so looks like I'm a two time loser  guess an SSD just wasn't in the cards for me this Black Friday, hopefully Cyber Monday comes thru for me if not, guess I'll just take this as a sign.

Tel me about it! I really though that Newegg did not have this kind of issues. By my experience, successfully finishing checkout it was a guarantee of a shipping product. Not this Black Friday. First on Wednesday I got an OSS notification on a GTX 660 after it was charged and in packaging status. In fact they have not refund my paypal yet.
Yesterday with this Kingston 120GB SSD I had in in my cart waiting for the price discount. After being fooled by only $5 off, was about to contact CS when it went live at $60. Ordered without a problem but never got confirmation email. Instead I got an OSS notification at 03:31EST Half hour later after several failed attempts to order it again I successfully finished checkout again. But for the second time I received the dreaded OSS email 4:02PST. Not loosing hope (but a lot of sleep) I get to order a third time around 4:16PST. This time I got confirmation email and lather with a payment charge email and verifying the packing status I went to bed (for me it was 5AM EST!). Today I was relief by a shipping confirmation and tracking number. The funny thing is that by any measure a $40 discount does not worth this kind of effort and distress but who gets rational on Black Friday?
My conclusion is that Amazon is the only Online retailer that have the ability to handle BF traffic without a problem in their real time inventory system.

lets see if you get a shipping confirmation :)
Hope so. I got the order confirmation email and the payment charged email. It's current status is packaging. I hope it goes through. You would think a successful checkout is a guarantee.

Just got it! $59.99 with shoprunner.

Oh damnit. For some reason the billing came under my name instead of my wife's which CC I used. Hopefully that won't be a problem since it's only the first name.

Edit: It's under packaging now!

Yup...if you got the email that your CC was charged and the status is "packaging" you got it. :D

in the middle of installing this sucker in my net book

god i hate removing labtop keyboards

Where tax isn't an issue in your state for either, then Amazon > Newegg in terms of shipping guarantee and customer service/returns.

In my exp Amazon csr's will never argue with you, whereas Newegg's will.

To each their own.

In my exp it's the opposite, Amazon Customer service has been attrocious and stubborn "every single time". I realize this is not normal and everyone loves Amazon because Amazon must treat 99% of their customers very well. Too bad I'm that 1%. Unlucky I guess.

Newegg goes out of their way to make sure I am satisfied if I'm dealing with their CSRs, "every time." I have done a lot of business with both in the past 10 years.
Combine that with no tax newegg, some extras like the easy discounted extended warranties on HDDs (compare the latest seagate 3tb deal on newegg, $9 added 3 year warranty for Newegg, Amazon no indigenous extended warranty option; have to go through squaretrade or w/e and it's like $30) and that's why I prefer newegg 99% of the time

F*ck the egg because the sleepless night trying to check out, for nothing.

Amazon has bigger infrastructure to deal with these days. And no tax for me. :)

Great deals on SSDs, but I will only buy a 512GB SSD from this point on. I'm done with HDDs so I need higher capcaity SSDs.
When the really good ones go below $300, I'll take two please.

We must be living in alternate universes then since every time I've had to return something to Newegg its been like pulling teeth to get restocking fees waived ("okay you have tell us head of time you want restock fee waived, okay.." engrish FTW. Dont have that headache with Amazon. Likewise if Newegg sends me a product that turns out to be DOA (a harddisk lets say - which used to be pretty common due to their atrocious shipping practices on individual harddisks), I was on the hook for the return shipping. Again, dont have that headache with Amazon.

Yes, I know you can call Newegg and beg a return label but again, dont have time to sit on the phone and deal with people. The fact they dont offer as a matter of procedure and everything is a special request is what gets on my nerves enough not to give them a second look.

WTF Really!

Ordered 2 120gb's and there was only one in the envelope. Invoice stated 2 where shipped!

Newegg's SSD shipping practices are flipping terrible, I bought a Sandisk Extreme 240gb during a BFish sale and it came in today in that shitty padded envelope with box damage. Thankfully SSDs have no moving parts so it should be alright.

Damn that sucks mine arrive tomorrow Hopefully I got ur extra one :D naw seriously mine come tomorrow i hope my order is correct

Raid is fine but they are honestly fast enough to begin with. But with every thing we all like to see higher benchmark numbers. Thanks

ssd raid rulz all others are just wanna-be's lol I have done both ssd raid and single ssd I like the raid better its alot more responsive and fast over a single one. Does it overly improve things?? not by a huge margine but I can see it in some places

sweet they have arrived :)

I haven't received mine yet but my friend ordered one along with some PC parts for a build and they accidentally gave him a 240gb kingston! Lucky bastard. I'm sure I just have a 120gb on coming in the mail.

Fucking New Egg shorts me a SSD (ordered and paid for 2 shipped me one) and now sends the replacement the slowest shipping possible........seriously WTF.

Mine from Tiger Direct arrived today, ahead of the projected Monday delivery with their econoship.

nice

mine IMHO should of been here wensday I went with 3 day shipping ( it was free) had tracking number friday before noon MY TIME which is 10 there time but it didnt leave newegg til monday I was pissed but at the same time I used to be in the shipping biz so I know what this time of year means to them so I got over it lol

I had 2-day shipping via Shoprunner and NE sends it ground shipping. They offered me a $5 gift card that lasts 90 days as consolation. The price for 2-day is $13, yet they offer a $5 gift card.

Newegg is slipping.
