HK AVR 1700

Anyone have any experience with the new HK line of receivers? I keep hearing grumbling about HK going downhill but a store in town is selling it for $235 for black friday. Pretty much have a couple hours to make my mind up on this.

Currently have a pioneer VSX-D412, with a pair of Polk Monitor 60s with a polk PSW10 sub. I do plan on going 5.1 with this setup.

Also the reason im so on the fence is the shitty return policy of the place selling it. I dont want to hate it and get hit with a crappy restocking fee.

So i bought it and i have to say for the price its pretty outstanding. 6 HDMI inputs, i believe it does 3d passthrough, plenty of power. Im pretty happy with it so far. If anyone else is interested and dont want to wait in line its on the HK website for $269.99 i highly doubt it can be bested at that price point.

6 Hdmi is good. For some more speakers, you can look to polk audios forum FS section. It is a lively trading spot. I have had good success there.

I wanted the center that newegg had on sale but this is my computer setup and i just dont have room for it.

There is always above your monitor you know. For PC 5.1, it is actually better to have the speakers at ear level or above your head a bit.

Oh i know but the one in particular has no built in wall mounts and would be a giant pain to get mounted. Would either have to make a shelf or drill into the case itself.
